I believe magic shell came out early to mid 80's. Because I know I was using it when I was in High school so was my Husband. We graduated 1986. Our family still loves this stuff even my home made ones.

My son & I always enjoyed the shell topping made by Reese's, until he discovered a Cookies & Cream version, which had the lovely chocolaty crunch with the sweet vanilla creamy white chocolate. YUM!
