Transport Trouble!! Multiple Vehicle Rollover!

- Hey guys! This was an accident we worked recently, where a Ram 3500 pulling a car carrier, loaded with a 2022 Ford F-250, lost control, and rolled over on a bridge.
Thankfully the driver was uninjured.
I don’t know who Donny is to you but I can’t say that I liked him at all, he lacked the ability to see the angles & predict what the Ford truck was going to do, his only good call throughout that stage of the recovery was about the Ford truck being caught on the guard rail.
His pulling angle was all wrong & he was mostly dismissive of any ideas other than his own.
The last major annoyance of this particular job was the guy in red, getting under your feet & trying to tell you how to do the job !
Still it all got sorted out, great assistance & advice from you Dustin, you are the kind of people I enjoy working with.
As a retired Truck Driver of 41 years, I can always sit on the grassy knoll and watch you men do your work ! I'm a new sub for sure.
Thanks for the sub!
The first tow truck driver seems to irritate the second one.
The lack of intelligence of some people we share the road with is truly scary.
Great video as always, Dustin!
Thank You!
I'm truly grateful that you do care for the waterway. Great job...
I grew up in the outdoors. I try to always leave it better than I found it.
I wouldn’t want my truck to be started after being on its side that dude is crazy. Also new subscriber! Good job Dustin
Thanks for the sub!!
Why not? Might as well blow the engine up too while you're at it to get that fully totaled check.
@@NeoMKthat ford was bought from the auction and was being transported to a client. It already had salvage title prior to the accident. So there is no real value to that truck. I can tell by the decal on the windshield. It was from a salvage auction. So there is no write off to speak of
@@The_North0that ford didn’t look seriously damaged so it easily brought $20k salvage title or not, i’d say that’s a little valuable.
Well, it will be useful for my next beer can as it is aluminum indeed.
How he caught that stretch of road clear and didn't involve other vehicles is beyond me. That is one of our most traveled roads 24/7
Definitely got lucky he didn’t collect anyone else. That would have been a bad day.
@@Towtruck_Dustin It would suck for the vehicle he slid into, but as for damages, he would have been better off keeping it straight and sliding straight into another vehicle. You can tell by the way his rig and trailer landed that he wasn't going very fast when it rolled over, so If he had just locked the brakes and kept it straight I don't think he would have hit another vehicle that hard. Maybe 20 to 25mph. and doing that just the RAM would have been damaged. Well, and the vehicle he would have hit, But when it comes to spit-second actions, most of the time the body reacts and tries to turn and avoid hitting anyone else. Just glad nobody was hurt, that's what matters most.
It’s always a blessing when nobody gets hurt
Dustin, I enjoy watching your work. I see your commitment to good work!
Thanks you!! Glad you’re enjoying the content!!
I am by no means a expert on car hauling but having watched Jason Kendal and The Load Mizer youtube channels that guy had that big truck in the wrong place. Gravity wins every time.
Definitely had the trailer loaded wrong.
Yep! I was searching waiting for a comment like this one. Should have had it loaded facing forward and the engine just in front of the trailer axles maybe 4-5 ft with the majority of the truck loaded over the trailer axles. Some live and learn, but some will live and never learn
I c this way too many times!
Yep the light cars on the top then the heaviest on the bottom
@@ryanvegas777thank you! I don’t ever plan on hauling a trailer like this but it’s useful info. I know not to load the rear.. ask me how lol
Watching from France, and can say : awesome job, good team work also !!!

Thanks For Another Great Video Dustin & Showing A Multi Stage Recovery Stay Safe Out There
Well done, I was happy to see you take charge & reroute the snatch block to the pass. side & shorten the snatchblock chain.. I was literally talking to my computer screen saying What are you doing? when he rigged with the snatch on the close drivers side & left the chain long.. that was bad enough.. then he raised the boom & literally put the pull point right back where it was when straight off the boom sheave...chain it short & pull low.... BTW... when ya get one that slides & doesn't wanna grab to roll... sometimes a simple floor mat under a tire will give enough to grab until the rubber sidewall catches.. but if the roads are icy & there's nothing to bite... take a chain and zigzag it in front of the tires on the pavement... when you apply even a little pull, it makes the tire sidewall bite into the chain links & starts to transfer slide into downward grip until the tire grabs.... simple but effective. Another trick to control the pull angle...since you had one winch line fail during this...down to a single line pull... if you have a chain bridle rigged up on the vehicle to a single winch point.... if you need to keep the winch hook in a certain place instead of "skipping" to the side of the chain bridle as ya pull.... take the grab hook from a chain & hook it into the bridle you're hooked to... then the winch can't pull past the grab hook & allows the pull to stay where you want it...allows you to steer/direct your pull... all with single line
Some good info there. Thanks for that.
Dustin, Nice Job! You are on your game. I like the way you set up your truck. Very neat and organized. Donnie not so much. What is he allergic to WORK GLOVES? Where is his snatch block? He doesn't always listen to you. Yes winch down low. Didn't know truck was under the guard rail. Good pull by both of you. Keep up the good work. Donnie, PUT YOUR GLOVES ON!
Thank You!
Wtf Donny?!
Years ago, early 80’s, a deputy saw a set of tire tracks in the dewy grass at either that bridge or the one closer to Freeport. They went off the road before the guard rail. No brakes. Divers found that car, and 3 or 4 under it in the canal. Solved several old missing persons that day.
I lived there from ‘79 to ‘85. I just saw your video on buying Casey’s truck and was curious what beach you were speaking to Rory about. As much as I despised that town in the 80’s. I have often found myself home sick and visited when I could.
My father worked at DOW through a construction contractor while we were there. I have hauled construction parts into the plant and chemicals in and out through the years.
I’ve heard of that story before. Makes you wonder how many other bodies of water hold similar tales.
Now this time I'm with you on this Donnie need to go back in training he don't like to listen to nothing this the second recovery I seen him do and damn you look frustrated every time retrain him immediately Dustin you did a good job this 👍👍
Thanks, but Donnie is the owner of the company actually.
Man just keep collecting your paycheck save your money and get you a towing company
Not to jump on the train, but he seems arrogant as hell. I've towed hundreds of vehicles many years ago. It's an art. Dustin your awesome sir. Doing a great job from what I can see.
I drove semis for 65 years. You guys are awesome 👌 keep up the good work .
Thank you!
Carroll Watson: May I ask where you drove? I Am insulting you, But It does not sound as if you have traveled much further them maybe 50 miles from home. What Companies have you pulled for? I can name many I have carried their loads. I was a Contract Trucker and if I could load it and keep it contained I hauled it. Even to Alaska as Mexico City. I also get a kick out of these bad ass Truckers who haul LYL and are home every night and think they measure up to driver's who live in their Trucks to support their Children by what the haul. and not the stops. I have done it all. Even Manure and Barn Yard waist materials for Fertilizer when I was young. Now how many Pissed off Yellow and CFI Drivers are going to curse me out?
@@BitterDemo I like to know how old he is to drove for 65 years. If started at 18 He drove till he was 83.
@Raymond F. Pittam I was in the navy ( equipment operator) eleven years. I've driven in Vietnam and Spain. Discharged in October of 1965. Since then I have driven in all the states except the north east I have a 45 year safe driving award from A. T. A. And two safe awards ( belt buckles). I retired 7 days before my 84th birthday.
@Raymond F. Pittam I have driven for General Foods truck fleet. K Lines Inc. SYSTEMS TRANSPORT out of Spokane. Hauled oil pipe in Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Texas. Also drove for Watkins and Shepherd out of Missoula. The last 6 years I hauled produce over much of the U. S. I don't tell B. S.
Nice job Dustin.
I still think it is cool watching you use the wood to direct the vehicle while dragging it on the bed.
That’s one of my favorite tricks lol
@@Towtruck_Dustin A few weeks ago I was down to Bay City a few almost 2 weeks and never realized how close Angleton is but it looks close to the gulf. Great shrimp 🦐 and seafood like we have up here in New England
Dustin..you and Donny work good together. That was a big job and well thought out. You're expertise is obvious.😊😊😊😊
Driver's lucky he didn't go swimming . Really good recovery men .
Thank You!
Twin line wreckers always impress me, they punch well beyond their weight
Top heavy (!) with one heavy vehicle up front of the trailer! Scary setup!
And it worked out just as expected lol
Especially a heavy diesel truck. What an idiot
We had a wreck on 105 just outside of Vidor TX. I watched from my porch and saw tow trucks with red and blues. It's very effective for slowing down traffic as I witnessed.
I’ve noticed a huge difference in how the traffic reacts to the red and blues over the ambers.
I grew up in Texas I didn't think other than emergency vehicles could run red and blue. Has that changed? I now live in Oklahoma and even road crews run red and blue. You never know until you tried to them while they are just driving down the hwy. I do understand wreckers. Also would be fine with red and blues on while actively working in a construction zone. I think people are less likely to yield when every vehicle out there has red and blues. Just my thoughts. I also used to be a paramedic in OKC. Couldn't get people to move no matter what.
Great strap and chain on wrecker i use all chain and 2 straps on my personal trailer I don't feel comfortable just using straps over tire
I use that and 4 extra methods of securing vehicle.... with safety chain front and rear .. awesome video thanks for posting 👍
Given the fact the rolled over truck didn't move as much as a millimeter, I'd say strapped tires are just fine.
@@Charlesbjtown i don't take chances
@quagmiredavis4117 You kinda missed the point. If a flipped over vehicle, is still held in place by the straps.... that SHOULD tell you that you AREN'T "taking chances". Do you also drive 40 mph in the passing lane, on a wide open interstate/freeway, to be "extra safe"?
Ron Pratt with Midwest Truck, in Missouri recently responded to a similar roll over, only that guy was hauling a car and a Ford F350
I saw that. Was an interesting accident to watch.
You asking the tow truck if he can drive it home is like asking him can i take 1000$ dollars from you 😂
That’s just him not wanting to have to tell the bossman he needs to get the truck out of impound lol
Congrats on keeping your cool and not throwing that dipsh!t in the canal for be annoying and in the way!
😂😂😂
imm crying too this comment
That is impressive how the wheel lift truck flipped the pickup and trailer so easily
The twin line wreckers make easy work of stuff like that.
Not really the heavy of a pull, Pickup probably weighs 7-8k, trailer maybe 4 or 5 let's say somewhere between 10-15k for both together, Flipping it requires you to pull half of its weight so 5-8k pull. Wrecker probably weighs around 15 by itself so with the brakes locked it can pull 10k easily without sliding, winches will do probably 16-18k together with single lines.
The Goonzquad would love both them trucks lol
It sounds like Donnie is not taking care of his truck if the line was about to snap . Equipment is only if the driver/owner ( if Donnie owns the truck ) takes care of it just look at your flatbed it's in nice shape bc you take care of it .
So when you comment on this remember it's a machine not human . A machine is only good if the person takes care of it .
I would love to have a truck like Donnie it would handy up here .
Bro… you are a true professional! You don’t even have to think about it you just do it and most importantly you take Saftey seriously
Thank You!
Great teamwork! Those ford pick ups have a neutral override behind the shifter like the dodge had. I may have a video on it. 💪💪💪
I wondered about that, but didn’t take the time to look
@@Towtruck_Dustin it should be like this ruclips.net/video/jHV5NXS9jCk/видео.html
2nd issue that no one addresses with these wedge haulers. A lot of them use the factory Ram 5th wheel plate thinking its sturdier than a gooseneckball. Its a dual pivoting 5th wheel plate specifically designed for hauling RV's. It allows just as much movement as a gooseneck ball.
@George Thank You for pointing out the #1 issue. I figured it was obvious by the way the truck was loaded on the trailer that this driver was a rookie and had no clue what he was doing. And clearly you've never seen or used a factory Ram 5th wheel plate either. But you're right, I have no clue what I'm talking about.
Man, he got lucky when he rolled. That truck he was hauling had not rolled off on to the pavement. You guys would be fishing it out the water. So close. Glad no one was hurt. 😊
I think that it is wise to invest in a wind sock or muffler or 'dead cat' because the most important stuff you had to say was blown in the wind sadly.. but, without sound most if not all was understood by what we saw.
But still, wind noise is not fun to hear all the time.
Sad to see both trucks to be imho totalled.
Happy to see that the driver was physical o.k...
Unfortunately this camera doesn’t support mods, but I plan to try and get a different camera that will soon.
Great job Dustin love watching your videos 📹 stay safe 🙏🏽 out there.
Thank you!! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
I know you probably been telling a long time, but by running chains straight back on your bed, they could come loose and the truck could walk its way off the side of the truck, I have seen it happen, even to but the truck didn't come off as bad cuz I saw it going that way, I always Crossing in the back that way it can't go anywhere
This type of car carrier is illegal in the UK for this very reason so are artic couplings on non HGV vehicles as the trailer is bigger than the towing vehicle which is inheritently unsafe.
it’s only unsafe if you don’t understand how weight distribution works.
Great job guys, awesome teamwork.
Lol, I'm watching for half the video thinking, why does the background look so familiar 🤔. It's definitely not missouri. Where I live. But it seems like I have just driven in the area not too long ago. Then I rewind video and see freeport on firetruck and Clute on ambulance. I realized it's by my moms in Texas, and i was just there in june😂
That’s awesome lol
The old Kaufman Tipper, a 2023 truck and apparently a 2023 driver. Hello Mr. George 📲
The roll over occurred because he put the F250 too high on the trailer. It was a 4 wheel drive, lifted I think, and he put it over the bed of the Ram. He should have put the F250 low on the trailer. That was too much weight, too high in the air and on a gooseneck ball that pivots. Recipe for a roll over. When he made a turn, the F250 took the entire rig over.
That my favorite truck is a f250
Goood to see the police blocking traffic while the tow-truck drivers do their job! We have had two or three killed because they had no blocking. But they are classified as emergency vehicles and the penalty are good but it doesn’t bring them back!! People drive so crazy and don’t care who gets in their way,we have had several deputy’s hit and some killed !!
Feel bad for the hotshotter, destroyed a nice truck. and losing money.. I hope for the best, a total headache. Hopefully insurance is quick
The bad part, the truck was a stolen recovery. It was on its way back to the owner. Was in perfect shape prior, but they lost the keys, which is why they were transporting it.
One hundred percent teamwork in getting that rig up and towed, Thank goodness the driver was okay he could have ended it up in the water
I’m following you almost for two years😊😊
Every time i see one of these hotshot drivers with 3 new super dutys.
I think, oh yeah, what could go wrong.
The issue is that they leave one on the highest point in the ramp. EXTREMELY high centered. Just a probable accident waiting to happen. Just pure laziness. After they unload the others, they should back the last vehicle to the farthest back on the trailer.
Yeah and these are the guys using a gooseneck ball....hahahahah! This guy had a fifth wheel....still went over.
Great work, that was a big one, enjoyed watching.
Yeah that was a pretty good job there
Awesome job guys Very professional.
That’s a lot of money on their sides there. Hate to be company to write that check
I'll hate to be the owner of the Ford and get that call.
I'm guessing about $200k worth. What a day for that guy.
The insurance company?
😊😊😊😊😅😅😅😅😅😅😊
Just late model junk, nothing to get excited about.
Had one these haulers go over on NJ turnpike a month ago. Four total vehicles and a trailer on its side. One 60 ton Rotator, 50 Ton Wrecker and Three ld response. 35 mins from wheel stop to road clear. Fun times stay safe. The small wrecker is that. Jerr Dan npl?
It’s a Miller, I forget which model however.
Great job and thank for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
😝Send Dustin not Donny!!!🤣
Good video. I was worried your cable would snap while flipping that second truck. 😬
Probably would have if we didn’t catch it.
Great video Dustin!

Thank You!
You two make a good recovery team
That driver must of been speeding and or on the phone...
How does one manage to wreck like that...????
Great job guys... I'm glad i found your channel and subscribed...
The trailer was loaded improperly. The F250 should have been down towards the axle, not the highest point of the trailer.
I never understood why people would think it’s smart to load these big trucks up front dude was empty he could’ve easily put it near the rear of the trailer which would’ve decreased the probability of the truck flipping that F250 is in a dangerous location to heavy to be on the nose of that trailer plus that truck is getting so much air that’ll bring your MPG down too
Laziness. They don't want to shuffle the deck as they make picks and drops.
Hieeee glad your being called in the best of the best right here y'all
Nice work gave you a sub from upstate New York
Appreciate it!!
I was assuming to much weight, over the tow vehicle?. (And backwards?) Changes geometry. Im considering pulling the same trailer with F350 SRW. But lighter cars up front. No HUGE trucks loaded first. Light car then heavy truck then light car. I think that will work.?
Yeah definitely don’t put a full size truck on the top as high as you can go, and you’ll do fine lol
Probably a 30 foot drop to water and there's a knee-high guardrail on that bridge. Guess they will wait for someone to go over it and die and then they will put up a proper barrier. Amazing he didn't end up in the drink.
Connect both lines at and put the snatch block in the middle, pull with one cable and you will compound your winch
The snatch block wasn’t there to add pulling capacity, it was used as a redirect to get a lower pull.
Those small wreckers are a pain in the ass with no outriggers to have low pulls, It may not be recommended by all but my recommendation would be to get a 4 or 6 foot strap and wrap it around the boom of the wheel lift and plant the wheel lift on the ground then hook a snatch block to that strap and you'll have a much lower pull.
It’s against manufacturer recommendations to set the wheel lift down while winching, as the booms are made to flex. Stopping it from moving can cause the boom to snap.
@@Towtruck_Dustin agreed, however you don’t have to completely plant the boom on the ground as if it were any outrigger just let it float a couple inches and that’ll still get a much lower pull
Position the truck correctly and would t have any issue
@@oshkosh850. Except you would because they are still lacking some pretty important things that actually useful wreckers have... They are glorified pickups.
Rollovers, I have done my fair share and still get them. A lot more now. As a fellow tower from Michigan.
How did this happen?. What is it because of the load being placed all on front of the trailer.? I probably do not know what I’m talking about, but I would have placed the load around the middle of the trailer a little bit towards the axles.
That’s exactly what happened. Way too too heavy, and it rolled coming around the corner
This is definitely from lying on your resume!!!!! Why the hell was that f250/350 on the highest point of the trailer?!?!?;🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Has to be annoying when a client is all in the way of you doing your job. Truck guys tend to think they know everything about trucks.🤦🏾♂️
I subbed you do amazing jobs
Thank you!
I owned a transport company with a dually and wedge trailer......I found out quick don't put anything heavy on top by itself becuase the trailer is tipsy....luckily I never rolled over.......there having problems flipping that ford becuase he's on an angle he should be doing a straight pull directly across.
I agree. I’d have definitely done a few things differently myself.
Tk very much for this video 📹 ❤🎉
Stumbled across your vid and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looks like you have been at this for some time. What happened here? Was the driver driving to fast in the curve with the 250 on the trailer at the highest point or did some strong winds roll him over? Will be subscribing.
The driver had the trailer loaded improperly.
The F250 should have been down closer to the axle, so that it wasn’t as top heavy. Looks like he came around the curve and it tipped over.
@@Towtruck_Dustin (He was too lazy to move it down after the other vehicles were off loaded. Or he was just clueless.
Ron must own the biznezz.
This video is a must watch! Had two wreckers on scene and only used one and clearly didn’t care about the customers vehicle as they pulled it over and dropped it fast and hard.
It was totaled
Totaled vehicle anyway.
It’s aluminum with a bent frame.
Too expensive to fix.
It’s scrap now.
I would love to know how that muppet manage to destroy that very expensive beautiful truck up like that when it looks really hard to get that thing off all those solid tires, well done lad !
Because he was to lazy to reposition after unloading the other vehicles , having the f350 at the top of the trailer with no other vehicles on it makes he extremely easy to roll
I am amazed at the size of the trailers US pick-up trucks can pull!
If only the drivers knew how to load their trailer.
American muscle
GLAD TO SEE YOU STRAPED DOWN ALL 4 CORNERS
Always. I have many different kinds of straps so that I can have all 4 points.
Legally the RO of the vehicle can be in and around the vehicle to gather, etc. Trailer should've been separated from the truck.
Thank you good sir

No more updates on the land you purchased in Apple Valley ? I live in Apple Valley myself , near Kiowa Rd
That was a really nice ford
It was a stolen recovery too. On its way to the owner. Quite sad.
So does the wheel lift of the dual line set on the ground completely for more stability? Truck seems to very stable for a short box wrecker
You generally don’t want the boom sitting on the ground as they’re designed to flex, and anchoring it down can cause the boom to snap.
@@Towtruck_Dustin Thanks for the response! Never looked to close into wreckers. Thanks for the info! Stay safe
When rolling the truck the trailer was carrying, why did the tow truck operator park beside the yellow middle line instead of further to the other side of the road. Where he was, he was trying to drag the truck forward and not simply pull from the top and roll it onto its wheels. He had the whole road, and he should have parked more square on with the vehicle, not almost 90 degrees to, and 10 yards in front of it. As it was it took 3 separate hook ups instead of just the one.
See they way they finally rolled it over, thet truck was square to the vehicle, and it was as simple as 2 hooks over the frame and pull it. He originally parked the tow truck in the worst position. I hope he learns from this. Poor operator.
Not how I would have setup or rigged it either.
It's really sad when someone thinks they're so smart they never listen this truck should have been upright long long time ago
Hey guys they used to be a tow truck driver to I wish I was still doing it because he was making a lot of money for doing it are used to work for A company that I heard it when I took of business but they still have a company but it’s in Los Banos are used to go on long haul rigs with the big holler and drove the small trucks in town I do miss it
Just had this same thing happen near me ! 3 f350 same colors on their sides . Haulers truck disconnected during and didn’t flip ! So so sad for everyone!
Oh wow!
Work safe those winch cables have seen better days 😊
Bad loading, the ford truck suppose to be close to the trailer axles, otherwise the wind will blow you from behind because the rear trailer axle is light and empty
Great video
I like how Ole dude that basically dropped 200k on the ground tell a man how to do his job lol!
I thought the driver was taken away in the meat wagon.
No, he was just getting checked out. He was the one I told to step away after we rolled it back over.
@@Towtruck_Dustin Any reason why he didn't load his trailer correctly?
The truck didn’t have keys, so I’m assuming they probably loaded it with a fork lift, and he didn’t know where to load it properly.
@Towtruck_Dustin Put it as far forward as possible to load other vehicles or it's the last to come off....just guessing
This is why i loove dodge duallys awsome trucks

Dustin if I remember correctly your truck has a amber light bar but the wheel lift truck unless I was seeing things looks like it had flashing red and blues? Why is that? Awesome videos brother! Be safe out there.
Can’t wait to be out doing what your doing soon! If I lived in your area I’d apply to your company 🙂
The KW I drive now has red and blues also. It’s legal in Texas to run them facing the rear.
@@Towtruck_Dustin oh that’s interesting. I did not know that I know Ron Pratt they can run red and blue and siren in Missouri, because they are considered a emergency vehicle I guess. Interesting to find out what different states do. Thanks brother be safe out there!
Ron gets a lil carried away. IDC what the law said, a tow truck will NEVER be an emergency vehicle as must fly to save a life. He's drivers way too aggressive. I'm all for red and blue to the rear, towards the front only minimized EMS and law emergency response effectiveness. Ppl will think oh God, it's another tow truck.
You say that until it’s you, or your family member that’s trapped under a vehicle and you have to wait for a wrecker to get there to lift it off you.
You’re entitled to your opinion, but until you do and see the things we do, day in, and day out, don’t place that judgement.
I spent the majority of my life as a professional firefighter, another ten years as a cop. No tow truck driver in the world, well, nearly NEVER is involved in the rescue of trapped people. Just not reality. I will definitely yield to you Dustin. I like your content, I like your work ethic. You sir are a class act. I've been a otr trucker the last 15 years or so, in Texas a whole lot. You folks probably DO SEE a lot more carnage than almost any other state, due to the very high speed limits, abs the massive open distances. If you say you've been actually involved in actual patient rescues, I totally believe you. That's just not reality in the majority of the remaining states. Texas, .... I'd definitely believe YOU.
Glad the driver is ok. Did he get hit or something? Trying to figure out how he flipped?
The trailer was loaded incorrectly, making it very top heavy. Tipped over going around the turn.
@@Towtruck_Dustin Thanks for the info Dustin!
