This song really hits home now. I just found out I lost a very good friend from high school. I can see them dancing to this song. They loved life and music; and they always got everyone else to get up and dance. I hope wherever you are Reese you are still jamming to this song. I'll never forget you. Blessings. 😥💔❤💜💙😩
Absolutely, my favorite Brothers Johnson song , takes me back to the summer of 1976, I was in high school, a time when everything was much simpler...... love love love this mix.
Ahhhhhhhh The Brothers Johnson.......so ahead of their time. All of their songs are off the chain awesome but Strawberry Letter #23 is by far my favorite!
Takes me back to 1976 what a time to remember young carefree full of plans for the future i would not want to miss a single day we hade some real good music i still be listen to them classics so i can start daydreaming of a wonderful time
I was 9 years old in 1976 and remember my elder cousin playing this song. Fantastic classic, what a gem. It's a song that has realness that you won't find in many songs.
A sensational moment in time, that I clearly remember at the release of this great song. With the colloboration of Quincy Jones, the original ( version ) became a "MILLION" seller doing a special time. The time was, the American Bicentennial celebration. The Johnson Bro's, paved many more hits to come.
Outstanding!!!! I was hearing this song while getting ready for fall semester at Cuesta Community College back in 1976. It was the year of America’s Bicentennial, and the Brothers Johnson were riding high on the charts with “I’ll Be Good To You”. Thanks to DiscoCat, the hit song lives again.
The summer of America's bicentennial featured several landmark R&B albums, including Harvest For The World (Isleys), Songs In The Key Of Life (Stevie), Spirit (EW&F), and this gem, which stayed locked on my turntable for quite some time. Great mix, Cat!
We had a lowrider show on campus at Santa Ana College yesterday and the DJ played Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson. I thanked the DJ for playing it and I told him that the song was a cover song and he was very surprised. He didn't know.
I Love this song. From my Roller skating days in the 1970s. We all would roller boogie. So much fun. With the family and friends at the roller rink every Saturday and Sunday night. Brother's Johnson. I had this 45. My Parents even played it on there big floor wooden stereo. Dancing 💃 dancing 🕺 🎶 ✨️ 😍 ♥️
This is another phenomenal song by The Brother’s Johnson called I’ll Be Good 2 You! You definitely take this to the next level. Listening to this remix with your remix of Strawberry 23 & I’m in 7th Heaven. In 76, I was in Junior High & in ‘77, I graduated from High School. I hated School but, I loved the Funky Music. The Gap Band was another favorite of mine. When you’re Bullied & Physically abused in School & at Home. You look for your own escape. Disco & Funky Music were my escape. I began buying professional remixes that were released. Recording them on Cassette so I could play them in my car Stereo Audio System in my Brand New TransAm. I didn’t want my tapes to be continuous. I made sure they sounded professional. I have an Equalizer & a volume control system & I have a CD Burner & Player. I had also switched to MP3 too. I bought the highest quality cassette’s & CD’s too. I kept my cassette player’s clean so I didn’t have any tapes getting jammed. I had 2 incidents. I re-recorded them & through out the damaged one’s. Yes, I’m particularly about quality. I still have my cassette, vinyl & CD collection.

I want to know
Just how you feel
Said-a I want to know
If what you feel is real
'Cause there is a reason, yeah
For the things that I say
I want to love you, girl
In a special way
We've been together
For so very long
I would hate to break up
Break up our happy home
The way we stand and the way we lie
The way we love and the way we cry
Of all these things there lies a tie
Makes me feel that it's worth a try
I'll be good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
'Cause there is a reason
For the things that I say
I wanna love you, girl
In a special way
We've been together
For so very long
I would hate to break up
Break up our happy home
Take a step now, and let me know how
All of your ways, girl
And all your know-hows
I'll be good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
Good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you, good to you
I'll be good to you, good to you
Thanks!!
