It's an amazing country, last year i was there 6 weeks, unbelievable hard to explain the beauty in one package, even the people of any religious group are are wonderful helpful,
it's their country culture smiling with everyone which means alot to me, apart from this olden history, wildlife,beautiful beaches, mountains, mild winter in one city drive a hour different weather, elephants in 100's clean
once in life you should visit, affordable cheap safe

all by public buses and train dirt cheap, I didn't stay in big hotel,
local rent room in their houses (i like help local small business + small like motel 99% very clean average $10/15 a day some local with meals
i am a person like to learn and migle with locals
very safe,
next year planning to visit no buses or train rent scoter or tuk tuk

All the vesak Lanterns,,Pandals,, street decors are traditionally,, strictly Hand made....that activity symbolises the dedication and devotion to pay homage to Lord Buddha... so nothing is machine done.... it's supposed to be a meditation that you have to be prepared and offer your faith and unblemished following towards Lord Buddha ' s teaching.... it's a tradition to get involved for this most Holy and Wonderful day.... The Universal Buddhist Flag was initially designed by ancient Buddhist priests....it symbolises the Lord Buddha ' s powerful aura of 5 qualities Lord Buddha had.... it's a wonderful subject to refer Buddhist texts and learn..... Thanks a million for taking the trouble to do this wonderful video... You are Blessed by the """"TRIPLE GEM """"" ( BUDDHA, DHAMMA , SANGAHA....)

Nothing you said is accurate.
Buddhism isnt a worship devotion based religion with a deity. The Lanterns and Pandals are actually a cultural celebration of the birth, englightnment and parinirvana (passing) of the buddha. It in no way is a "dedication, devotion or unblemished faith".
The buddhist flag is also not "designed by ancient Buddhist priests". It was designed in Sri Lanka back in 1885 by Anagarika Dharmapala and co.
Please dont spread misinformation if you aren't sure of history.

Did you know that the Buddhist flag was designed by a team including and American , Colonel Henry Steele Olcott who having faught in the American civil war came to ceylon after reading the controversy about the debates taking place in ceylon in the 19th century.At first the debates were oral but they were stopped because they ended up unruly. The Ceylonese were expert debaters and were following the rules set in the 12th century books on debating.

You should visit to Galle City because i have never seen such a beautiful city in sri lanka...Galle Dutch Fortess, Rumassalla Mountain Range, Sinharaja Rain Forest, Unawatuna Beach & Hikkaduwa beach etc. add more value to the beauty of that city. If you have a chance, don't foregt to visit there for get a unforgettable experience 🌼 because i have no words to explain the beauty of that city 😊 Nuwaraeliya is such a wonderful city too & it looks like the heaven

But I gotta say money is not an offering, it's actually a ban. Idk why ppl are offering money these days it seems like a lot of ppl do, but we are taught Buddhism in schools, and acc to that offering or receiving money by monks or temples is most definitely a ban.
I'd really appreciate it if you could spread this fact.

@@ThatBadassLife Oh about donations it's a bit complicated. Even Though theoretically offering and accepting money in temples is wrong, nowadays temples also need to pay the electricity and water bills unlike in the past when there was no such requirements. so ppl help out. In places like Ruwanweli seya in Anuradhapura you'll always see an agent sort of person is there to handle it. So that's definitely approvable.
But the way ppl offering money just the way pahan(candles), flowers and incense is wrong. For example if a person throws money in to a shrine or those glass like boxes where buddha statues stay respectfully.
