Maybe because that's an experience most people don't have in other countries. So, Thank you very much for your video explaining everything to others. We want more foreigners to enjoy the best of Sri Lanka. That's all. Dansal people won't ask anything in return. So you should just enjoy a free meal. Thank you.
Nice explanation. Dansal means free offering to Poor, travelers , and to misfortunate (Dugee, mage, yachaka) according to lord BUDDHA S preaching. That's what the Buddhists are practicing by offering and organising DANSAL
How about a nice long drone video of different places we visited in Sri Lanka? We also just got back from a longer trip so we will put that together but it will take awhile.

If they could they’d do otherwise, cos Indian freedom fighters were the bigger threat to them those days.

No Buddhist would ever have any gambling stalls on poya days, and certainly not on Vesak or Poson! These days are not meant for carnivals, but for practicing daana, sheela and Bhavana - generosity, disciplining one’s senses and meditation respectively, It’s sad to see people losing the essence of Buddhism even on such days!
