So glad to see your channel name on my notis reminder! Always puts a smile on my face, thank you! Hope you have recovered completely from your infection when i write this comment and hope to see u again soon, all the best from sweden :)
I see the Eldris LD more as an extension of my possibilities and not a replacement whilst still keeping it small and lightweight. With the Eldris you can do some small batoning, like kindling for the wood stove. Because of the thicker handle you can have stronger power cuts. And very important, if you gut some fish or butcher some small game it's much easier to clean compared to a folding knife. I have a carbon steel striker with my firesteel so I don't have to use a knife for that and the carbon steel striker will also throw sparks of a flint. And I agree. Use the spine of the saw and not the saw blade itself.
@@steelmanoutdoors4479 I wasn’t planning on filming. But now you mention it, could be nice for a quick overview. Some cool slo-mo close up shots…of missing the target 🤪
Did you use the teeth of the saw on the ferro rod? I believe that would quickly make the saw dull. But the SPINE of the Vic saw works on a ferro rod, too! You just have to be careful that it doesn't close on you. However, if you put down the saw (teeth down) into your tinder and move the ferro ro backwards on the spine, it cannot even fold on you.
Yep 🙈 tbh I don’t use it often for that purpose, if at all. Just showing that it could be used if needed. The spine does also work which I’ve showed in a different video. Good tips for people watching though so thank you for taking the time to comment 💪
I have a little leatherman PS4, which is my everyday carry, and it is the most useful thing I own, !! Recently, I've been carrying as an "extra" knife, a "traditional" folding pocket knife,, my favourite atm, is the Case Slimline Trapper, but Rough Ryder make tons of cheap traditional knives, which are mostly UK legal,, They're nice to look at, and play with,,, Great video btw. 👍
Thanks man. I have also been tempted by the PS4! It looks a great useful little tool. Maybe I’ll have to add it one day. I did have a gerber dime before the classic SD and that was heavily used as well, but the pliers broke so I retired it
Hey Buddy, nice to see you again! Love your positiv vibe! Keep up with the videos! And hopefully your lungs get better soon. All the best and kind regards from Austria. 👊🏽🏕🔥🌲😊

Lots of tiny knives. For me, i would have to choose the Mora. I know it's still small but it's how you use it, if you know what im saying.
😂😂 nice one mate. That made me chuckle. Hope you’re well
