Take a look at TallyHo Tech's channel. He puts up the Zephyrus 14 against an Aero Intel laptop and the MacBookPro 16, testing out productivity software. Interestingly, the big gains of AMD are really concentrated in gaming. Intel has a lot of drivers very specific to burst clock and other things that Adobe and DaVinci take advantage of. Even the Mac16 which has "weaker" specs than either, occasionally beats them on productivity tasks because either of Apple's specific drivers and the Metal API.
Ironically Intel's next gen "Rocket Lake" will revert back to 8 cores max. It has to have some insane IPC if it wants to compete against AMD's Zen3 and it's 15-20% IPC improvement and 50-100% more cores..

Artem - This is exactly my thought when watching this. I'm team AMD at this point, because they actually have done some innovation, while keeping prices down. Been running a Ryzen 5 1600 since 2017, and I can right now, buy a Ryzen 5 2600 for $129. That would give me double the power, while changing nothing else! @Ryan W Intel is better for gaming, in specific cases. As in it has to be a k series and has to have adequate cooling. Also power efficiency is non existant. Boost requires twice the fuckin Watts. Amd on the other hand feels jerry rigged and has the ccx issue and ram issues and latency issues. Where because there are two ccx dies, there are a few latency issues and that's why their fuckin 4 core cpu on one ccx performs better in some cases than a 6 core 3600. As in they're making modifications overclockers would make rather than improving their ipc archetectually instead of just relying on a die shrink.
Man Intel has gotten some rollercoaster ride particularly I'm speaking on the used market, used 7700K has mostly been a bad value from how those sellers are putting it's value, $200-300 like seriously? 10100F came in to market and it's affordable $129 ish tag is a way better value than that 7700K And something more on the higher end side and more rare to talk about I couldn't imagine how a price of a used 9980XE compares to a used, may as well be new, 10980XE, those 9980XE better not sell at higher tags than a 10980XE
This has bugged me for a while. The fanboys keep touting "AMD's" node when they failed HARD as a silicon producer. Zen has been a great design but if AMD actually had to build it it would be a massive flop 5 years down the road. Give some credit to TSMC leading the pack

That slide at 7:10 comparing retail pricing to wholesale pricing without mentioning it in the script is a bit greasy. It's not WRONG, but it's hard to say it'll be a slight premium when we don't know what the premium will actually be.
If you even catch it on the slide, the 99.9% of us who don't know how "per 1k" translates to "retail" are just left confused. And if you don't catch it you underestimate the premium.

Read your comments before getting to that part of the video. I think it’s fine as the point he was makinh is that Intel is deliberately pricing it at a premium. AMD: *laughs, in 4000 series*
I'm an Intel Person and I fear how good those will be that I may switch since the laptop 4900hs was great
@@benchmonster4863 rid yourself of greedy Intel... Your very much welcome to join team RED :)
Well I did joined the Horde after leaving the Alliance.... So I guess it won't be so bad

Tomorrow: " why Intel deserves a reach around"
lmao
@J M Intel has a long history of "you get what you get and you'll love it" mentality. They felt untouchable and too far ahead to worry about competition. It has bit them in the butt and now they look like clowns. I have never been an Intel fan, mainly because it felt like a boutique style product. It was always expensive to buy and kind of elitist feeling. AMD was always a refuge for sensible pricing and builds even though they were not perfect. Now that Intel is lagging behind, you have people running out to bash them, in this case with soft gloves so they don't lose that "behind the scenes look" privilege. Competition is great but this limp criticism just to appease the fans is really sad. It's obvious by the sudden title change and the constant ass kissing. I hope Intel comes back better and more competitive in hardware and pricing.
@@Citizen.54 It's funny too. Linus jsut got done with a video about preying INtel would become more competitive, and now releases a video painting their overpriced cpu's in the best light possible while straight up lying about them. Literally showing graphs that disprove his own points. I'll be over here waiting for Ryzen 4000. Hope that check they wrote Linus was worth his integrity.
@@dewaynethomas3122 I watched the entire video, which things is he saying that are disproved in the graphs? Because they seemed to line up fine to me
@J M LTT changes all of their video titles after a while, they've discussed this before, it's a strategy to pull in first-time viewers with sorta clickbaity titles and they switch it to something that more clearly describes the video. They do it for AMD, nVidia - even Dyson!
Love the segways only channel I look forward to the ads 🤓👍🏽
Hey Linus, I just purchased the Ryzen 9 3900x over the i7 9700k for my first build after picking it for gaming and rendering some 3D models, and after watching this video I have never been happier. It seems to perform much better than the i9 10900k at SOME tasks and is listed at a decently lower price! Go team red!
Cooe thanks man! I will be doing a lot of 1080p gaming but I also needed something more well rounded for school work that including some 3D modeling so I think it was a win-win.

Overpriced and a day late... most people are just waiting for AMD's Zen3/4000 series at this point.
definitely Not true.... i guess you never learned that you get what you pay for, also perfection takes time.
@@DrGibs347 exactly you get what you paid for ..thats why people buy apple products not because they are worth the money you paid for .but because apple make them believe they get what they paid for ..

i never overclock. not my thing. stock out of the box keeps it simple and fun. then is the K cpu's necessary? thats my question. I have a i7 6700 works well
