    Most of the time when you see someone make something on RUclips they're using a million dollars worth of machine tools none of us have. It's cool and all but few are inspired to start making things on their own with such a barrier to entry. I really appreciate that you're showing people just have far you can go just with bone headed dedication even when the road is bumpy.

      He has certainly helped inspire and motivate me to go out and start hitting things with hammers. Made a few cool things that my nieces and nephew have been enjoying.

    Bruh I'm not gonna lie to you. You could have just made a knife that is on a gimble and we all would have supported lmao. Its awesome you're putting so much devotion into this though. I really hope your mind doesn't break

    Awww I’m so sorry that this project is being such a pain, I’d have given up by now but you are remarkably stubborn which I totally mean in complimentary sort of way. I know that you will conquer this thing eventually.

    Im a huge fan of the full disclosure method of making these vids. It helps others know your process and what can go wrong and how to fix it.

    Jairus, please take care of your stress, and mental health, we (the fanbase, as far as I am aware of) care about you and want to see you doing good, so please take a minute to rest, btw, does anyone know about the Aquaman project?

    • @QuentonHQ
      @QuentonHQ 3 года назад +1

      Its in a slight pause period from what I understand. He's still working on it, but he has a LOT of very minute and finicky work that isn't very good YT material, so vids are on hiatus for now. But the project is still very much alive and nearing its inevitable climax

  • @Germz4U

    I feel like Jairus is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Jlazer. All of the effort and nitty gritty detail goes into all of your builds (probably mostly because of all the carbon fiber you use) and Jlazer literally just slaps some tin foil on the side of a bic lighter and calls it a day. Not meant as a burn, I love Jlazer too but Jairus is a fabrication god by comparison.
    Unrelated but I fuckin hate welding aluminum too.. Its just the least satisfying metal to weld, and my welds are always sub par.

    Just a tip to make sure your weld doesn't crack for aluminum, rough up the surface you're welding to remove the oxide layer of the aluminum. The oxide layer melts at a higher temperature than the aluminum itself. Or if you're using a machine that has a foot pedal you can raise the amperage and then hit the part hot and fast to get the puddle going and then back off the amperage. Either way you should end up with better penetration than you're getting.

    I started bladesmithing a year ago, there has been a lot of youtube vids watched but a lot of trial and lots of error, when you do another project looking back the skills you learned will make past projects seem easy.

    I feel like a CAD model would save many multiples more time than it would take to create, as you would have a solid plan of how the parts fit together from the start, meaning you spend less time building parts that you don't end up using.

    have you considered forging the bends & curves, aluminium can be forged just have to be carefull not to overheat it, use of crayon to check temp can also be useful, there would be a learning curve but would make a more interesting video than watching welding fails
