Anifco67 anything can be windy, but, it matters on how windy! i can walk outside on a windy day with ease but in a hurricane? nope, blown away! they go in and find that weather data for us, be grateful that you weren’t there caught out there or there when it happened
I couldn't stop laughing at the guy narrating at the beginning of the video. I was almost certain he was going to use the WWF wrestling phrase "it's total pandemonium!"
Hey, Jeff Piotrowski, I remember seeing you on your RUclips video when you drove into Joplin, Missouri as the category 5 Tornado approached from the southwest. You were driving south on Range Line Road. Your coverage was second to none and illustrated great courage in the face of such massive danger. I see you're still risking it all to bring us the deadly "inside" story. Thanks and take care. DBB
Just curious, the reporters who stand in the midst of hurricane are they well protected ? I always see a blue jacket, meaning are they protected from the force of nature directly hitting their chest, head etc which is kind of scary from medical POV ....stay safe !
During Irma the storm suddenly stopped and everything calmed down. We knew what it meant but apparently the neighbor didn't. He came outside and started trying to clear debris. A tree had uprooted and was laying just in front of his house, blocking his front door. He brought a chainsaw out and was cutting the limbs. We were yelling at him to get back inside and he turned around and flipped us off. Next thing you know the storm wall hit and he was getting hit with debris from trees and could barely stand. It happened almost instantly. His son had to run out and try to help him inside. It was stupid. People are so stupid. And he had the nerve to flip us off. We were trying to warn him, that it was about to get really bad. If you're hit with sheet metal, stop signs, pieces of trees, house siding or really anything, you will be very injured. Not to mention the water began rushing down the street again very quickly.
Jeff Piotrowski, he is a good friend on mine. He has been doing this since the 1980's. He chased the Morre tornado of May 3, 1999 and the 2013 Moore tornado and the Joplin tornado of May 22ND, 2011 where he assisted in the rescue and recovery operation.
when he said "continuous lightning" that's impossible. Hurricanes do not produce thunder and/or lightning because winds at cloud level are horizontal and for lightning to occur there needs to be vertical winds in the clouds to cause friction between ice pellets and water vapour
bruh this is nothing, try being in Irma when it was a cat 5! i live in St. Thomas and during irma my friends houses were destroyed and I didn't get power for 109 days. state-siders thought irma was bad in florida, r there people still without power in Florida? i dont think so.
Hurricanes aren’t as bad as they are made out to be. Look at the vehicles they use. Average cars with no protection. Serious storm chaser vehicles are the tornado guys. They have armored vehicles with cameras mounted all over along with sensors. This guy was yelling trying to make it sound like it was bad. Aluminium siding ripped off mobile trailers was called damage.
So I was in the eye of hurricane irma and we had no electricity for 2 weeks. Our generator also blew up in my parents face so we had to call 911 an go to the hospital then stay with a family member.
Good news right there on the spot live ! wow.. Even though I'm watching iit now.. ABC ya baby!!!!!! Whooooo I'd still move to Florida I love this ... In CANADA we get this except it's solid ice and snow and I do not know how we keep surviving but we do LOL Oh we drink lots of Beer while it's happening LOL
We got insanely lucky in Tampa and stayed on the west side of the eye with it coming straight up in between Tampa and Lakeland. Winds were insane though. Most of the city south of 275 lost power. Had that eyewall hugged the coast I can't imagine what it would have done to Tampa Bay. On Sunday probably about 3pm an oak tree cracked right in half outside my window, and the worst winds didn't even arrive until about 1130pm.
I love the wind. I'd be thrilled to be out in it, but still pretty concerned about projectiles. I don't understand why the weather reporters need to be standing in it. I mean, they manage just fine with a greenscreen map in a studio every other day. At least let them stand in the studio and greenscreen the storm behind them. I just find the risk of getting slammed or killed by a projectile an unacceptable risk to 3 minutes of delivering 'news' on location. Seeing them in the wind doesn't change the storm at all. lol
These media types really don't know basic English terminology and definitions. The eye of the hurricane is the one spot of calm within the raging storm, that's why on the Doppler radar it's clear and looks like an eye, or at least a pupil. If he actually went into the eye of the hurricane it would be still and partly sunny
I’m watching him scream “the water is surging” and “there’s debris flying everywhere!!” All while asking myself, “where the hell is the water and debris?” I didn’t see any of what he was screaming about. I think he was exaggerating a bit there. Entertaining indeed, but wasn’t what I was expecting.
I looked at a bunch of NWS weather stations could not find one with over 75 mph gust and most read 65 mph with 78 gust at most. Where is the 130 mph winds I'm guessing higher up not at the ground.
All that OMG and screaming over 80 mph winds is over kill compared to the 200 mph plus this storm had earlier in it's track. He can't be a Floridian. We've seen worse than this with storms half Irma's size.
I should of been a storm chaser. I was going to school for it then I got pregnant. I dropped out because I know how dangerous it could be and I didn’t want my kids to grow up without a mother. Or lose their mother at a young age or during their teen years.
Those strom chasers are so brave i mean like super brave i live in maryland and so when ever there is a thrunderstrom i scream buy i have goting used to it when i grow up i want to be a meterolgosit
That first chaser is the guy that helped people in Joplin after chasing the tornado there in 2011. Huge respect for him👏
Jeff is awesome 👍
I remembered him and his wife chasing that tornado. He is an awesome chaser

Arthur James for real
Speaking as a meteorologist, there is nothing more satisfying than getting to geek out over a hurricane from within a hurricane.
Arthur James yea
Adrenalin junkie 😂
this is Jeff Petrowski he is a tornado chaser watch his video on joplin tornado 2011. he was crying.
Respect to these pple who risks their lives to help collect important weather data n broadcasters trying to bring us 1st hand news update👏👏
Serial Killer nobody would want to be in a category hurricane like that and broadcast it. That's a lot of respect ✊🏾
its about the ratings...the money. they show people what they wanna see.

That bicycle helmet ain't going to do shit when you get a stop sign through your spleen...
Where is the "Pilot in the air since this morning flying from Marco island to Naples FL."?
I've always been interested in meteorology and always wanted to chase a tornado and sit out a hurricane. Dangerous but on my bucket list.
Lol
This is the guy from the Joplin tornado documentary.
Those guys have a lot of fun!
Almost dying
Nah it wasn't that dangerous, I've been in the eye. Just don't stand in an open area.
Just curious, the reporters who stand in the midst of hurricane are they well protected ? I always see a blue jacket, meaning are they protected from the force of nature directly hitting their chest, head etc which is kind of scary from medical POV ....stay safe !
The black man cracked me up

"David Back to you" proceeds to look around

Oooh was ot the eye?? That's soo cool how were you guys able to stay inside?
7:12 there is a literal hurricane outside. 😂😂
Talk about an adrenaline rush!

The guy sounds like Alex Jones from Infowars. Out of breath and very emotional.
6:23 funny lmao
when he said "continuous lightning" that's impossible. Hurricanes do not produce thunder and/or lightning because winds at cloud level are horizontal and for lightning to occur there needs to be vertical winds in the clouds to cause friction between ice pellets and water vapour
Check out Ian's lighting you can definitely see it there
Chasing it? You could have sat there for 5 days and waited for it!!
bruh this is nothing, try being in Irma when it was a cat 5! i live in St. Thomas and during irma my friends houses were destroyed and I didn't get power for 109 days. state-siders thought irma was bad in florida, r there people still without power in Florida? i dont think so.
Andreas Bump I still had my power somehow after the hurricane was gone I stepped outside for nice and fresh air:)
It's the dude from the Joplin Tornado.
Good surfing weather.
2:44 guys like ya man just having a cig on another stormy day

it's just a social experiment
AZI THE MLG PRO it's just a prank bro
The chick in the studio: bla bla bla not easy bla bla bla stay safe
The weather reporters outside: having he time or their lifes
I probably be the one to hold a massive umbrella and just jump off my roof with those winds as strong as they are lol
Until someone gets hurt there going to stop reporters going out there, we already know how powerful wind is lol
worldwide infinite55 shit I doubt even then like I bet they have really good insurance 😂 like damn
Gee.....I would've never guessed the wind was blowing hard if those newscasters weren't standing in it said no one ever..
These storm chasers got nothing on the tornado guy lol
Do ratings really go up when newscasters present in the midst of an actual hurricane? Because, as a viewer, I think it’s downright ridiculous.
OH MY GAAAAAAAAWWWSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH OH MY GAWSSSHHHHHHHHH
I think that the yelling is hilarious until I realize that if I were him I'd be crying like a little bitch.
“david back to you” 🏄🏻♂️
I've slept through a few hurricanes. Wouldn't hang around for anything above cat 1 though, 2 and up is too much for me.
So I was in the eye of hurricane irma and we had no electricity for 2 weeks. Our generator also blew up in my parents face so we had to call 911 an go to the hospital then stay with a family member.
The title of this video should be "Storm chasers show their stupidity to go inside the eye of Hurricane Irma"
Like a firebug. If he could 'light' hurricanes I bet he would.
Crazy? Yes, Stupid? Maybe, Do I want to do this? Yes
Good news right there on the spot live ! wow..
Even though I'm watching iit now..
ABC ya baby!!!!!! Whooooo
I'd still move to Florida I love this ...

*IT'S A DOUBLE RAINBOW GUY REACTING TO HURRICANE*
5:04 when you lift your fingers off the controller
That professional ice cream tester has a thrill-seeking brother
When your mom tells you to go outside and play 5:24
haha that guy is like the alex jones of weather
If you look away from the damage it looks pretty fun to go around there and try to keep your balance.

Why didn’t they just take a slurp juice before the storm came?
I guess I'm the only one who died laughing when she said "eeth" 4:01
Its not how fast the wind is a blowin... its WHAT the wind is a blowin...
respect....to those brave reporters
Jeffffffff!! You survived! Ppl from periscope know wassup

Hi Robin. Thanks 😄
You can’t be in the streets rn *standing in the streets* lmaO 😂
Being a storm chaser is the best job ever!
It's like cyclone ''phailine''..
Wow! Crazy stuff
This guy was in Joplin

I watched this thing live the whole day, almost shit myself.
The bloke walking down the street didn't seen fussed
DAVID BACK TO YOU
Legends say he is still waiting outside to get back to david.
“Well folks we have now reached our cruising altitude of 20,000 feet WITH THE STORM COMING AFTER US AND THE WATERLINE RISING!!!”
damn i wanna be a reportist now
What images came from a pilot flying in the air???
I think she meant the guy filming in his car was a pilot not that he was flying. I thought the same thing when I watched it
+Kate Marsh I guess that could be what she meant but she said "he's been up in the air all morning."
+Linda Stonebraker You're right, she even says he's flying from Marco Island to Naples. Pretty weird
Thrill seeking from what I see. What data, wind speed?
It's not like you can set up weather stations and / or use drones...
okay so at what time in the vid did he go into the eye? I'm curious and want to see it.
The eye of the storm is the safest place!
I love Jeff he is my favorite storm chaser!!
Loool was that bear grylls in the blue jacket ??????
I was very close to the wall of hurricane irma and recorded everything. It's on. t last video
I'm good I'll stay out west here in Nevada!
This is nothing. I drove inside the eye of a f-5 tornado with a trolley
All that OMG and screaming over 80 mph winds is over kill compared to the 200 mph plus this storm had earlier in it's track. He can't be a Floridian. We've seen worse than this with storms half Irma's size.
“Ohh my gosh” “ohh my gosh” it’s here! I am in it!! Haha 😂 him at 2.20 he’s loving it that’s the kind of job I want haha
FLORIDA MAN!!!
Imagine Irma is has so much power that it was able to go on all of the land in the world.
I remember when Irma hit me in Florida, it flooded a meter high ( I live right outside of a river)
Its amazing how no water got on the camera lense
I should of been a storm chaser. I was going to school for it then I got pregnant. I dropped out because I know how dangerous it could be and I didn’t want my kids to grow up without a mother. Or lose their mother at a young age or during their teen years.
