Iwaju | Release Date and Full Voice Cast Revealed

- Disney Animation and Kugali will be releasing Iwájú on Disney+ February 28th 2024. They also announced the full voice cast: Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan and Weruche Opia.

I do hope this gets us one step closer to an animated African musical--with humans. It's a shame Disney didn't collaborate with Beyonce to make "The Gift" an album for an original animated film rather than part of The Lion King remake.

@@AussieDisneyGirl Kinda glad she did. Given how busy she is, any appearences Tiana would make in various media would probably be done by different actresses, and it wouldn't be the same.
Also the rumor about Elio having story problems is true. Last November (not long after the delay to 2025) they had to rewrite the whole movie, because Pixar was disappointed about the previous version.
Yeah I think that it Actully was a smart one to do this only because I was really hyped about the movie coming out until I saw the trailer I was disappointed, It felt a bit off

I really hope that it's 100 percent that it is going to be good and if it's good maybe they will make a movie about that and I really hope that they do good and it is almost like Disney's version of E.T because it has science fiction elements
I'm really uncertain about this project to be honest. It kind of looks like it is borrowing from Black Panther and I don't think any series can live up to that.

I did apologise for any mispronunciation in the video. I’m not African and I had never seen these names before. I researched and I did my best. I can’t be expected to speak every language flawlessly. I actually delayed making this video because I was so worried I would pronounce things wrong.

All this voice actors does not represent how a typical Nigerian speaks, their conversation seems forced and lacked originality..
You can't make a movie about Nigeria and not use a Nigerian actor..🤷🤷
Most Disney movies cast people who are American. Frozen is set in Norway but uses American actors. Encanto for the most part uses American actors. I don't think it is disrespectful. It’s an American company so most actors will be sourced locally because of working visas.
