Hair Unit transformation for my friend dealing with Lupus

- Hey guys! I was contacted by this young lady named Tay. She has been dealing with the effects of Lupus for the past few years. She said it literally came out of nowhere.
She sometimes just cuts it low and wear it like that but she gets tired of the stares of ppl who don’t know her condition. She explained sometimes she just wanted to feel normal. So I had her come over and I gave her a short natural, easy to maintain hairstyle. This was done with human hair or weft/tracks… That will last about 6weeks on her head. The sides were done with synthetic crochet hair so it may only last on the scalp for about 2-3weeks before needing to be redone. She really loved how natural it looked ❤️❤️ . This brings me to tears. I’ve been dealing with Lupus for 16 years and when I was first diagnosed in 2006, my hair was the first thing that came out. I was totally devastated because I had long, thick hair. Every time I have a flare up, my hair is the first thing that I lose! Thank you for helping women like us feel beautiful again!!
My sister have lupus but lost her kidney, she's the first black woman with a kidney transplant since 1999. Lupus erythematous is worst than discoidal lupus.
@@francessjean5861 lupus is lupus when it comes to my patients i look for the best treatment for their needs however having a family member with lupus having her first hip replacement at 21 while she was a soldier made me start seeing lupus patients. Its hard on Every family, please remember that. Oh and GOD bless your sister received her transplant as so many women of color do NOT.

Is this very expensive to achieve this look for poor people with Alapechia or who don't make $40,000 a year?
This would be great for burned victims from fires, and those who have to have chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and their hair falls out.
They should award hairshows academy or Oscar's of hair excellence.

I knew a wonderful young woman who suffered from Lupus for years. She was the mother of a very sweet little girl. I didn't know you could actually die from Lupus until she passed away. I'm so sorry your sister lost her battle as well. Wishing you peace and much love.

She restores life and make us feel Like living again. She brings out our natural beauty that was lost due to alopecia due to cancer. She gives us hope. I've battled Lupus since I was 17 Years Old and it's a touggt battle. Thankfully I've never had bad hair issues but it attacked my kidneys at age 19 and I went into End Stage Renal Failure and did 3.5 months of Diaylsis. Thankfully God has graced me and healed me, no transplant. My prayers are with you. Be encouraged 💜

Hello, all.This is a wonderful video. Mickey did a fantastic job and the lady looks beautiful. My mom suffered with Lupus; she never lost her hair, but had the "butterfly rash" on her cheeks and used makeup to somewhat cover the rash. Lupus is a mean illness. My Mom passed at the tender age of 32. I miss her today as much as the day she passed 57 years ago when I was just 15. Regardless of the facial rash my mother was beautiful.In this video you used your talent and skills and gave the young lady much beauty and joy. Continue to bless those in need of help. Thank God everyday for the talent and creativity in your hands and mind. Everyone, have a blessed weekend.

Thank you for such kind words. Just 3 days ago (September 27th.) my Mom would have turned "90 years young" if she were alive. I thought of her and wished her a happy 90th birthday. She was not only my Mom she was my best friend (forever).

My mom, aunts, cousin's , myself and sister all have Lupus! They say that it isn't hereditary... Yeah right!
My mom 48... Basically no one made it pass 50 except one aunt... 😢 I thank God with tears of joy for 50 and every year since. My sister and the rest of us surviving thriving and staying as healthy as we can during all of these viral diseases, and so on... My prayer is that they find a cure!! Do more research!! Advocate more!! Educate more physician's on Lupus!! You would be surprised at how many are not educated on lupus! That should BE!!

This so hits home...I was diagnosed in 1996....and began balding in spots. But I didn't let it define me. It's been 12 years since I've been delivered from Lupus and 19 years since I've had a flare-up. My hair still has its challenges, but I figured thays why they created talented angels such as yourself and weave. I refuse to give up and persevered in a mighty way 🙏🏽

I haven’t had a flare up in 16 years. And I take no meds. I attribute this to changing my diet and working out.

I was misdiagnosed with SLE. I have other autoimmune conditions that behave like SLE though, and between the illness and the meds I went from having a glorious mane of hair to having less than half of what I had before. It's brittle and thin and far harder to grow than it used to be. Pulling handfulls of your hair out in the shower is gut wrenching. What you did for this person is a GIFT. When you suffer from chronic illness it's oppressive and there are days you wake up and barely recognize yourself in the mirror. I hope they felt like a million bucks after this because they sure look it. Much respect.

Thank u for uploading this. I have been battling Lupus for 20 years and as much as we are affected Physically, The Emotional and Psychological pain of dealing with the side effects are just as bad. WOW !!!!! 🤩 Unbelievable!!! I love how it looks totally and amazingly natural. I mean naturally as in her own hair that came from her African ancestral DNA and not European beauty standardized. When I began to lose my Sisterlocks i was devastated that i had did all that mental and emotional work to really start loving my own hair and after 10 years of having the best and longest mid back length of hair of my life, it started falling out. I even contemplated suicide because i was completely devastated. Luckily I found a great Sisterloc consultant who took my own hair (well my fallen locs) and some African hair to create a unit for me that looks exactly like my own hair (which 75% of it is but y’all know what I mean lol) growing out my head. I give honor, glory and high praises to all of you master hair artist that have perfected your skill so damn well when it comes to those of us who want units but we do not wish in No shape, form or fashion to mimic the European standards of hair beauty. This was just so wonderful to see and I thank your beautiful model for being courageous and vulnerable to allow us to see you work your extraordinary talent, skills and magic on her! Just napturally beauty hairstyle!!!!

Welp all you did was run over the scalp and I'm already crying. You literally have me feeling like it would be okay to just take the rest off. Because the flares of hair loss is draining at this point. 20 yrs in. I'm tired but not quitting. Just okay with pivoting so I can keep fighting even if it means cutting off what's left. 💪🏾💜💜
