I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) Just over 4 years. it's definitely not to late as that's when I started tricking and plus you already have some experience through breakdancing so get into it as soon as possible and have fun my friend :)
Thank you :) Some people actually find this easier :) Explosiveness in the legs definitely helps but it's mainly about coordination and timing in my opinion :)
You know one of the things I like best about you? (Aside from that your tricking ability is WORLDS beyond mine and you're so much more flexible than me.) You actually respond to people who have questions and comment, like complimenting. It's one of the things that sets you apart from, say, Kyle Mendoza. I mainly watch your flipping and tricking tutorial. Sometimes I watch your stretching tutorials to get more flexible, but not really your kicking ones. I do a little martial arts, but my preferred style is Uechi-Ryu or Shotokan karate. But I think it's nice you actually try and talk to people who need help.
thank you so much for this! i been doing kip ups for three years and it turns heads and impresses ppl and now i been wanting to starfish kip thanks for tutorial :3 excuse me as i go to break my neck a few times to learn this!
No problem and that's great! You need to focus on the kicking angle and combine it with your arms, then get your legs to thrust down underneath you as your torso is pushing upwards. Hope that helps and good luck :)
Just started martial arts again as an older adult. Your tutorials have been EXTREMELY helpful in focusing on the basic techniques then moving on to the advanced. Thanks so much for taking the time to make all of these videos. They have been very helpful. And the attention to detail is much appreciated. Please keep up the great work.
That's great :) This is easier in my opinion but id does involve more coordination. They are completely different, this is more like a back roll pop up like i demonstrate in the video :)
What is it like being an absolute badass? The coolest thing about you is not only are you very good at what you do, but you don't let it go to your head from what I can tell. You're not an "Anderson Silva" (if you follow UFC, you'll know what I mean). I enjoy all of your videos, look forward to more, and keep up the great work man!
i learnt this trick by accident when i was 7 , have been able to do it ever since without thinking what im doing, didnt even know it was a thing, and never knew how it looked until now. its actualy a cool skill
Hey GNT! Really appreciate you putting combo ideas with this move at the end of the video. Please keep doing that in your tutorial videos! Thats what makes your tutorials stand out from others and is the most helpful part for me. All the best, man!
I mainly do Taekwondo and Kickboxing (mixed with Kenpo and Muay Thai) but i do try and get some experience from other martial arts to expand my knowledge for different situations and for understanding of how to do things differently :)
I've always loved fighting, and recently thanks to your first kip up tutorial, I've got it down! In 7 hours too! And I Hope This Helps Me Too! Thanks Man, My goal is to try and learn all your moves! Subscribed😃
ginger, you inspire me to try harder, because in taekwondo just because i am a yellow belt in my state they think i suck until i do what you taught me, and they regret it, so keep up the fantastic work, THANK YOU
your videos are so well done, you could make money with those. I was looking for one specific kick tutorial on youtube and now I have a bunch of them plus flips and moves, seriously thanks a lot
lol I appreciate you saying that and there is no need for arrogance. I try to have fun, challenge myself and help others :) Thanks again for your nice comments and support :)
That's unfortunate :( I would tell him to ask his doctor as most of the stretches and exercises might be too strenuous at this time and damage his leg further. Tell him I wish him good luck with his recovery and future training :)
I learn't it from Jackie Chan Movies....after watching your video, i've some improvements....I concentrated to your starfish kipup with face position.....very good sir....thanking you.
You need to strengthen the muscles around it to make them stronger by doing leg extensions and squat exercises but check with your doctor to make sure :)
Stay straight, push up and go over yourself. It helps if you focus back on the way you were looking when you started. If it's no that then you are mistiming your push up, leading with one arm before the other, etc. Your problem won't effect you too much when practising the starfish kip up though so try it and good luck :)
I have been looking for this all over....... thanks GNT

Me too.. I gave up, but after months RUclips shows me this vid. :o

I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) I started just over 8 years ago and tricking just over 4 years ago :)

I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) I don't do Capoeira but I learnt a few moves from tutorials and the rest from my tricking background :)
That's great :) This is easier in my opinion but id does involve more coordination. They are completely different, this is more like a back roll pop up like i demonstrate in the video :)

Thank you so much mr. aaron for uploading this tutorial, always wanted to learn this, :-)
Stay straight, push up and go over yourself. It helps if you focus back on the way you were looking when you started. If it's no that then you are mistiming your push up, leading with one arm before the other, etc. Your problem won't effect you too much when practising the starfish kip up though so try it and good luck :)
I love this move. My Kung Fu instructor called it "Dragon tills the mud." As soon as I heard that, I was like, "That is the coolest name ever..."
