Thank you, very much !!! This is the best channel for fashion designers. 👍👍👍👍👍
Aw, thank you!
I agree.
Love you , best fashion illustration teacher on you tube 🥰👍👏👏👏
Zoe your so amazing, I been wanting to learn this and my teachers haven't taught it yet!
Thanks! Don't forget to practice!
Your teaching style is the right amount of sarcasm and practicality😂!So informative, thank you!
I'm not new to Illustrator- but this video was still super helpful. Especially the bit about drawing complete shapes. I wasn't taught to do this in design school. I was taught to draw the whole outline and it was maddening. This way makes so much more sense - this video is a must-watch!
Awesome! Glad you found it helpful! Yeah, the complete shapes are important--I have had lots of clients who want to see color blocking mockups, colorway tests, etc.
Hi Zoe, I am an absolute beginner for illustrator and I felt you have explained it really well.. I am glad that I found your channel, while struggling to learn how to work in an illustrator.
I studied Fine art and a 3 yr fashion design program.... im studying Graphic Design now, you're very creative, I believe GD studies would be such a great asset to you one day. I never considered EVER studying GD, but one day decided to study it to embellish my fashion education and overall art studies. GD and Fashion are so inter-related..... I love combining both careers.... good luck-Enjoyed this video so much. Graphic Design and combining Fashion together is fascinating. You feel so powerful with both.... your Skill sets Increase incredibly.
You are a true blessing for me!.....Learning at my age all the things I did not learn in my youth. Thank YOU. I look forward to the next tutorial and everything else... Peace & Blessings to you always
Hi Zoe! your videos are the best ones ever! love the way you explain everything and those important details you always share with us. You are the best so far! Thank you so much for teaching the things you know by this media it helps us a lot
Thank you for your compliments! And you're welcome!
AMAZIIIING! The best part is the closure!
As a fashion illustrator who draws by hand, in Photoshop (for over 20 years) I too was reluctant to use Illustrator. But, since I've been using it for 4 years, i wonder what took me so long!
Thank you for doing all these videos! It's super helpful for a person who has a full-time job and wants to learn during their free time!
Thanks a ton for explaining in clear way the illustrator .
I love InDesign. I've found its best use is fast layouts. I design T shirts for screen printing and it's incredibly fast. If I were doing a collage for a collection including images and text, I would start in InDesign because it is so accurate with layout
What kind of different tools does InDesign have that makes it so fast and accurate? Would love to learn!
@@zoehongteaches Hei! the frame tool crops images into its size (just drag image into it), but you always can adjust them. I use mostly frame tool and text tool for moodboards. the pen tool is quite same as photoshop and illustrator. you can wacth a tutorial too if you want to learn it
@@lizka1550 Thank you!
man i love you and your videos!!! God Bless!!
Thank you!
Zoe!! I know what I am going to do this winter!! Once again you showed up like an angel! these tutorials are so help full cant thank you enough!!

I recently discovered your page, as a new designer, I find your content and so thorough and valuable while taking many notes. Thanks for your commitment to quality work :-)
Love it! it’s very useful
Thank you so much! Love your channel a lot :)
That's great Zoe!! It's just been a month since I started learning illustrator and photoshop from an institute. I was about to ask you the list of things I need to learn from my teacher respective to our industry.
This video has answered me all !
Yes I m practicing 👍🏻
Yes! #practicenotmagic
I like your videos! As a fashion designer, that's super helpful and useful for me! Thank you so much!!! If you could teach some skills about InDesign, that would be super awesome!
Zoe, thank you very much!!!! I'm so glad I found your channel! You really help a lot!! And the tricks are so helpful!!!
Yay, excited for this new series! I've actually been a huge fan of Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo lately, so I just wanted to throw them out there as possible alternatives to Illustrator and Photoshop for people who don't want to deal with a Creative Cloud subscription. I don't think there's an Affinity equivalent to InDesign yet, though.
Of course, some things are a little different--like, I don't think there's a Scissors tool in Affinity Designer, but you can use the Node Tool and just click wherever you want to cut the path with Break Curve. (Or draw out the area you want to remove and use something like "Divide" to cut it out.) Not sure which program would be more intuitive for pattern making.
Duuuuuuuuude. I just watched the demo videos for AD and AP and now I'm in love and want want want! Aaaaaahhh~~~ Like I didn't already have a huge list of things to buy and tinker with...*sigh
Thank you so much Zoe for this series! I've been looking for a video like this for so long! All the other ones that I've found were so outdated and boring to watch.
waiting for your next one. Thank you.

I love you!!!! please do more videos about these programs!!!!!
Thanks you just helped me a lot with this information!!!
Do I need to learn adobe illustrator to be a fashion designer selling directly to the consumer or do I just need to learn how to sketch? If not, what platforms/mediums do I need to learn? Does it depend where I produce my goods from?
Thank you so much for this!!! I was wondering if you have any information on using illustrator for prints for fabric: specifications like handing in formats, color format and I am not sure what else should I know about this subject. Any suggestions? :D
Thank you, this help me alot.. i will go to your 2nd tutorial 😘
Even iam not fluent in english, i can understand. Hope next time you can put a subtitle

I'll add photoshop to the queue and I have to see about inDesign, since I don't know it yet.
I love u Zoe..U r the best !!!!!!!
Awesome video, Zoe! I'd love to see a video on how to become a fashion designer without going to fashion school. I'm currently a graphic designer/surface designer and have lots of experience using Adobe Illustrator, but what would I need to do to build an awesome portfolio and get noticed so that I could potentially get an entry level job as an assistant designer somewhere? Thank you!
>>I'd love to see a video on how to become a fashion designer without going to fashion school.
I've been thinking about this a lot but it would be largely theoretical because I went to fashion school and that is my experience and the experience of most people I know.
As for your second questions, I have a Fashion Design Process series that culminates in a portfolio vid that you should check out.
Yea, you're right. But I'd be interested nonetheless. Maybe you could interview a few designers who have succeeded in the industry without going to fashion school? A little encouragement from someone who has done it would really go a long way.
Anyways, thank you VERY much for getting back to me. I love your channel and can't wait to check out your Fashion Design Process Series.
OMG. Zoe, thank You so much =)
You're welcome!

Thaaanks sweet zoe for the video cant pay yoy enoughmuch love from africa
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. .Very informative
You're welcome!
Zoe Hong I got an idea that will help both us "students" and you at the same time, I think you should invite over your studio someone very good in using InDesign and make a video series! Cheers from Italy
I'll think about it. Maybe if I ever get to the end of the request queue! Haha~
Awesome
Hi, Zoe Hong. Thank you for like these videos.Realy helpful for us.Iwant to ask question this program. ı have to this program for my jop and what do you think that can ı learn it with these videos or should ı go to course about this program? thank you.
I have no idea. It all depends on your needs and what kind of course you find. You should probably find a course if time is an issue because I don't know when I'll get back to this series.
Hey Zoe :) Could you do a tutorial on kimonos? I'm in need of a one for my schools final collection.
Thank you for everything.
How to draw kimono? I could, but my request queue is currently 15 months long and I always go in the order of the date of the request.
So if I was creating a garment would it be preferred to created the flats, figure, etc, on Adobe illustrator instead of drawing on paper just to have a more professional view?
For factories, you need flats in Illustrator. You don't need figure sketches at all unless you're trying to make beautiful illustrations for your portfolio.
@@zoehongteaches thank you :) I love your videos they’re so helpful
if i cant draw with my pencil and paper is using illustrator a good alternative?
Yes
Love your videos 💕
I’m learning a lot
Keep it up 👍🏽
i like you so much.. i love your voice and how you speak
what software should I use?
Please please continue I'm an absolute beginner which is screwing with my MA... Desperate for product... 🤤😲 🙊😯😣
Random question but Is that a picture of Famma group inc???
Zoe..., could I request for a tutorial video on how to draw child croquis for various ages of children...? (Wondering where I am on the subscriber request list...)
No problem, Vivian, I'll add it to the queue. Best guess right now is November of next year.
so this drawing would be used to send to a pattern maker for drafting?
Technical flats? yes.
Zoe do you ever use Illustrator with Ipad
nope
Hi Zoe i donot know where is command you said that click command and J i asked my teacher she did not that too could you please show that too me or show the buttons you used thanks
The Command key is also shown as ⌘. Are you on a mac or a PC? Key commands are different on PCs. Usually it's Control instead of Command on PCs.
:)) thank you Zoe :)) X
You're welcome! :)
I'm studying graphic design....and InDesign is not hard But not easy, it looks easy to learn, but its complicated....The challenges are real so unless you really train leave that for a professional to put your book together, because to send a book for print or Ebook without really knowing will be a nightmare for you, your printer and customer. Takes yrs to learn ID.
You are so funny😂
Lol i need designer friends to share experience i fell like to communicate all i learn in zoe class to see if i really can translate my design to people...oh you have fb zoe
Hahahahaha~
Hello beautiful
