Dude, this is the quad I've been looking for. This one - the 1985 and very first year of the Suzuki QuadSport 230 - was my first sport quad and my all-time favorite. I used to get all bundled up at midnight in New England in the middle of the winter and hit the snowmobile trails that went right through our property. We'd ride for hours only stopping to warm up our hands by putting them over the exhaust pipe. If you happen to still have it and want to sell it please get back to me. Thanks. 👍🏻
@@brianspinniken7589 no it's not the linkage i got brand new linkage in mine and it does the same thing it gets hard to find neutral after about 15 hours on the oil
SneakyZeke idk on mine when I try to shift at higher rpm it won't shift we think someone who had it before me tried to AT swap it and it didn't work out so he changed it backed to to manual with out a clutch but we don't know for shore it might be the left lever that is the clutch but I can't use it because it is completely locked up and can't pull back its solidly stuck in place or it could just be the shifter it self because it is a bit loose and I always have to slow down and use the brake to shift but I will hopefully get it looked at this week and I also have LT125 with no clutch but stock it has no clutch so that's normal but I'm not sure with the 230 it really pisses me off
don't read my name I think it was just because I was wearing crocs when I rode because I had to wash it but when I where my boots it shifts just fine but mine does not have a clutch it is lined up but yet it still shifts really easy I’m getting that fixed soon
My dad had a 230 I don't remember but I think it was a quad sport he was the 2nd owner (we still have it) and he said he could hit 60mph so we are going to get it running again for me because I grew out of my 110 and will give it to my little sister
@@Propaniac-ru5yf thanks but my dad parked it because the chain broke the case so water got in there and rusted it out and would be to much money and time to replace so we decided to leave it for now and maybe put s predator 212 in it
I own an 1987 230 quad sport and mine goes way faster almost 70mph it almost sounds like your clutch is slipping because that machine should have lots of mph left in her
@@SneakyZeke LMFAO well stock from factory is 48 mph that's fact. And you did say you had a top speed of no more than 47 mph lol. So that puts you in the stock top speed ball park! But heavily modified like mine running 12/38 puts me at 55 mph and if I were to run 13/38 it would get me no further than 58 mph. I have done the readings with all those gear ratios.
I have 3 LT-F230GEF here in Australia that I use on my farm,for a 30year old bike they are hard to beat for a all round fun work horses. Great video

That was super dangerous riding in between those trees so close at that speed. Hit one bump wrong and you'd slam into one of those trees. Be careful.

Sounds like your clutch is slipping really bad. No doubt it's slipping at the top rpm. You've got lots more mph left in that machine.
