Your video here was delightfully awesome! You are just an adorable hoot to watch. I just recieved my loop station today, and just seeing someone tinker around with it, to be honest, has been much more informative than all those other pre-written "instructional" tutorial vids I've seen yet. Bless...
Alexander. Hope you don't mined me asking but how do i connect the R505MII i also needcto set up both new i currently operate an RD 2000 i also have the Roland Versalab which i needcto connect set up also. Appreciate any help you may be able to give. Thanks Michael.
Your bumbling is perfect. You delved deeper into the unit than I’d initially do on my own, saving me gobs of time, revealing features it take me much longer to discover on my own. Thx!
Hi Gaz , 1st Happy New Year and hope to see you again a superbooth . I also reacived my 506 machine last week and still in box but looking forward to watching this. In my watch list. Thanks mate
Hearing you test the RC 505 MKii is the most uplifting thing can I ever hear!! "Aha" and "Turning you on" in delay FX is hilarious, the way you are manipulating what use to be the Roll Delay on the MKi, added with your voice is just so good for the viewer. Your presentation is reminiscent of Beardyman and your learning on the fly, whilst recording, makes this video so authentic that it gives me hope for my 505 mkii upon arrival. After watching Brez's video and feeling disappointed after having sold my mk1 for the MK2, I hope I've made a worthwhile investment. I also intend to link up my OP-1 via aux > xlr or via a large mono Jack - OP-1's output is mono. Brilliant full review! I watched your original RC 505 video review last year and loved that! I'm sharing this amongst other techy music hardware friends! Happy New Year, from the Wall of Corn.
Looking forward to an interesting demo vid, thanks.. Just as a heads-up.. Turning ur Phantom Power on/off after ur condenser mic is connected is not recommended. It is likely that nothing will be damaged, as was the case here. But, it's better to have the phantom already on before connecting the mic to avoid a potential power spike to the mic and possible "pop" to your speakers.
Thanks Gaz for a very indepth look at the Mark 2. Do you know if the MIDI spec has been inproved, especially in regard to having the 505 slave to a master midi clock. I have heard the MK 1 had all sorts of problems.
P.s. Forgot to mention firmware. What firmware is your 505 MK2 running? When I received mine early December the firmware was already out of date. Just went to the Roland website and downloaded the latest version.Cheers.
How to monitor rc505mk2 in ableton? I'd like to hear the input in my daw only . I hear both rc505 n the signal that it sends to ableton. I'd like to hear only the signal sent to the daw.
Great video, thanks for posting it! Now that you've been using this machine for awhile maybe you can help a Noob. I'm having fits trying to Sync and/or Quantize my MKII. I've set all the tracks to Sync in 2 measures but that doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Your advice is urgently needed and appreciated. 🙄
Hi Gaz. How have you found the unit a year on in terms of bugs? Ive ordered one but am a bit put off by people saying that they're experiencing annoyances with it. Just wondering if the good outweighs the bad. Cheers
In that case the sampler is also capable of looping, being a looper. So, no difference there. But the sampler, in most cases can also edit the recorded audio; slice, chop, etc. The MK2, is supposed to have a well executed 'time stretch' feature, something generally associated with a sampler. Depends which machines/tools, are being compared.
If you CLICK, HOLD and turn the four dials in centre (to turn delay speed higher, quicker for example), you can speed up the parameter much faster. I saw a video earlier explaining this. Shame you can't have direct input control for your mic and that you can't see when your mic level is peaking, unlike the original 505. 😔
I would say that the 505 is more feature rich. Probably best compare the Boss RC-600 with the Electro Harmonix as they are both foot pedal designs. The RC-600 and RC-505 mk 2 are virtually identical function wise
Boss, do not think it is possible. If it was, it would be in the manual. That is almost verbatim of what I was told in a reply from Boss customer service. I had read the manual prior to emailing, and did not see it mentioned. So, I assume not but it is worth trying. Failing that, could just link the outputs of one to the inputs of the other. But probably not useful to you, won't keep their clocks in sync.
Gaz for those of us who own Ablelton Pushes, Mashine +'s and Mpc Live's would you still reccomend this product? Wondering if its duplicitave or still worth it. In Gaz we trust!
Simply put, yes still worth it. Rc505 MK1 and 2, are more immediate and intuitive. I am not aware of anything else that allows audio to be recorded with such ease, it's 1 button press. But it doesn't offer any of the DAW like/sequencer possibilities of the Maschine and Mpcs. The MK1 is very easy to use, including choosing fx and applying them etc. The MK2, for the most part seems to be a worthy upgrade. I have just started using the Maschine, and it is more complicated than I would like it to be. But with the patience to practice, it clearly can become a very powerful tool.
Hi Gaz do you have video how do you provide such a high quality sound to yt ? is it somehow directly from loop to computer with software such as voicemeeter where your cameras are connected to or you have another external device ?
Not really the answer to your question. However, In this video, the Rc505s audio/outputs are being recorded Via the USB connection. So, he may have just connected it straight into his computer and connected to his DAW, as an Audio Interface.
only 2,159 clicks worldwide in 5 days. something doesn´t work for gaz. i remember when he tried to hire a manager thru sonictalk. how did that work? apparently not good.
Words can't experess how thankful Iam for this tutorial. Thank you! Subscribed 🙂

Such a great way to explore this amazing piece of kit. Love seeing how you navigate it from a first time working with the 505

Fabulous i should be watching this while i actually am infront of the box.
good casual review - a calm voice for late at night too - thanks Gaz!
Really enjoyable video. I didn't know about switching memories mid-play. Thanks man.
oh nice one!was thinking about getting a looper, thanks for sharing!
Good to see you back Gaz and Happy New Year to you.
Hi Gaz! Great show, really looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for the first look video🎉

Twoooo hours man 😮
I will watch 15 minutes everyday ❤
Amazing..I had the 505 mk1 but I sold it to buy other equipment....I wish I never sold it...
lol 1:19 that was funny...
Oh and the Mic switch is brilliant. Share a link of that for your followers . Much luv!
Bounce is
HUGE!!!
Upgraded from the mk1 to the mk2 for the soundquality and the bounce option
Hi I've seen a few of your other vids in the past thanks for your work.
Thank you!
P.s. Forgot to mention firmware. What firmware is your 505 MK2 running? When I received mine early December the firmware was already out of date. Just went to the Roland website and downloaded the latest version.Cheers.
Putting the "GAS" in Gaz Williams...
And here I just got the older one a few months ago.
can effects be assigned to faders (e.g. pitch and/or speed simultaneous)?
Gaz youre awesome man. Hey, can anyone tell me if you can import audio files on this? thanks
Its classcompliant, works with ipad and usb, but I got feedback problems

Did you get this sorted?
You’ve gotta release that hit song, “Modular Cures”! 😆
its crazy how much you look like rick rubin keep up the good content and livestreams man
does it have 'backspin" effect to simulate vinyl for DJs?
Do you also hear a lot of hiss with the instrument inputs?
what does loop in mean in the USB menu
?
Hi my brother!
How can I set a rec count like I do simply on MK1…?
only 3 seconds in and I love him lmfao . what a beautiful aura xoxoxox
Hi Gaz. How have you found the unit a year on in terms of bugs? Ive ordered one but am a bit put off by people saying that they're experiencing annoyances with it.
Just wondering if the good outweighs the bad.

How did you toggle between your face and the 505? Was it a video switcher or OBS
I’m using a Roland VR-1HD video switcher
Am I the only one who began to shake my head and making a beat when he said "some of this" as his voice was delaying?😂
the loop length can be set or its fixed? Thanks so much
Independent loop lengths per track. Could be super short like one beat in one track but another track could be super long like 128 bars
what's the difference between a "looper" and a "sampler" if the sampler can also play its sounds in loops?
In that case the sampler is also capable of looping, being a looper. So, no difference there. But the sampler, in most cases can also edit the recorded audio; slice, chop, etc.
The MK2, is supposed to have a well executed 'time stretch' feature, something generally associated with a sampler.

1:14:14 absolutely.
Gaz has gone... madder.... ...but was that possible...? ;-)

Try this VST version and I can modify it for you if it needs any changes. Just let me know in the comments. ruclips.net/video/ebiU12cC8-8/видео.html
which would youu get the Electro-Harmonix 95000 or the RC505 MK2 ?
Roland
I would say that the 505 is more feature rich. Probably best compare the Boss RC-600 with the Electro Harmonix as they are both foot pedal designs. The RC-600 and RC-505 mk 2 are virtually identical function wise
But why the plastic panel that attracts fingerprints and looks a bit cheap?
Typical Roland. They are stuck in 2000-2010 with their designs 😅
Can you Daisy-Chain the MK1 with the MKII?
Boss, do not think it is possible. If it was, it would be in the manual.
That is almost verbatim of what I was told in a reply from Boss customer service.

@@mmhcreatesthanks. I know maschine well if you have any questions.
Ooh tasty.
Makes you wonder why Roland don’t do more fx units these days?

I have searched youtube and some saying do not buy it because the software issues are you aware of this? Jus to see your input please thank you.
You never made the follow-up video?
W I L S O O Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon
The drum patterns are a big improvement on the mk1 - that’s a 6th track right there.
I just use the MPC ONE instead.

Subbed in the first 4 seconds. Be my bff
