I remember watching this episode and I thought at times Wild Thing could end up being eliminated. Napalm should be considered lucky to win against Warhog.
The Alien is still in tact and still looks good. Sarah Asplin brought it with her to use as a static display at a Robots Live event last year. I think it should be upgraded and return into combat.
I don’t disagree with Wild Thing’s victory, absolutely the best robot and team in this heat. However, they were an unlucky draw for Trouble N Strife who looked very impressive and could’ve done well. Sadly though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team downgrade their robot like they did, I was shocked when I realised what they had come back with next series.
Both Napalm and Warhog looked like a couple of old poor robots in early retirement limping on a sort of fight while Refbot was their tutor and kept helping them from where they stuck. It was actually a very cute (adorkable) moment that even the House Robots avoided to inflict damages to these two frail machines unlike their usuals.
You make my heart sing Wild Thing it makes my heart sing with the victory against Trouble n Strife Wild Thing so lets go Wild Thing so I love Wild Thing 's drivers : Isabella Adams (Team Captain) , Nick Adams (Driver and Captain ) Jake Adams !!
Pause at 22:00. Look at the damage... That claw on the front of Sgt Bash is massively underrated....It crushes with EIGHT tonnes on the tip.. immensely powerful hydraulic crusher.... For comparison Razor only had THREE tonnes on the tip.... From a technical and asthetic perspective Sgt Bash was very impressive.
No one really comments on how bad the wild thing disk is Here you have a robot n that's famed for its pushing power and it decides to sacrifice that in favour of a slow spinner that due to its angle can't get any purchase on its opponent Bizarre.
Shame Thermidor 2 went out first. one of my fav robots but whilst they have a powerful flipper, reliability has always been it's main downfall. not just with the fragile shell but the exposed wheels and the electronics have a habit of conking out for them. Looks like lobster is off them menu tonight
Wild Thing, you make my heart sing. Bit of a controversial heat this one. I have to say I do think that Wild Thing's victory over Trouble and Strife was absolutely justified. T&S barely moved and basically relied on Wild Thing being aggressive and driving into them to do damage. Wild Thing was far more aggressive, and deserving of the victory in my eyes. Napalm returns, contrary to what Phillipa said it actually WAS changed from the last wars...changed BACK to the 3rd wars design that is! The fact it got past round 1 is a miracle. It was never a good robot, even in Series 2, and at this stage it's just laughable. Thermidor going out in round 1 has to be one of the shocks of the series at this point. After an INCREDIBLE performance in Extreme, and a pretty damn good showing in series 4, it losing to the never-past-round 1 Prizephita was a major shock, though you have to give the Prizephita team credit, their bot was majorly improved and dominated the match. Wild Thing vs Napalm: The definition of a forgone conclusion. Not much to say about this one. Alien vs Prizphita: Alien's unreliable srimech strikes for the first time of many. Prizephita's flipper may be small, but it packs a surprising amount of power, enough to dominate the fight. Wild Thing vs Prizephita: Now the really controversial one. It was a real back and forth fight, although I have to say, not NEARLY as controversial as I remember it being. The opening seconds of the fight were obviously Wild Thing's. Prizephita were unable to flip them and Wild Think kept getting around the side and pushing them about. After that first flip though Prizephita started to get some good points in. After recovering from that nervy moment where they were stuck on their side Wild Thing started to get back on top. They were more aggressive (as they usually are late in fights, Wild Thing always seem to get stronger as fights go on) , very nearly getting Prizephita into the pit twice, and then slamming them into the wall at the close of the fight, where Prizephita seemed really sluggish. I'd say that the judges choice was the right one all things considered. Wild Thing was more controlled, More aggressive and Prizephita definitely seemed to be on its last legs by the end of the fight. I can absolutely sympathise with the Prizephita team though.
If T&S relied on WT's aggression, driving into them and damaging themselves, surely that's incredibly poor play from WT? Wild Thing lost both fights, the judges pick who they liked the most.
@@burzaburza2970 but lets give Prizephita a lot of credit it was much much improved from last time around. Many people don't know that Eddy Alcock of the Prizephita team was friends with the legendary Rex Garrod and he helped them with the pneumatics hence why the flipper was so much improved.
There's an error before the first battle: the screens behind the teams show their opponent's robot and not their robot. In addition, before the third battle, both screens show the same robot for the opposition and the correct team.
Prizephita may be a team of boring old dudes with a robot which isn't that good, but I can't help but love em somehow. On this occasion they really were cheated by the judges sadly.
Wild Thing and Thermidor are the two I'd rate in this one. Though I don't think the spinner they've added to Wild Thing will do much for it, its main 'weapon' is its manouvreability and its pushing power. And in the event, against Trouble & Strife, it dominated despite a bent wheel. I think WT deserved its victory, since even in its damaged state it was still outrunning T&S. And shut up Craig and JP trying to manufacture 'controversy'. That hammer on The Alien does look like a good weapon. Velocirippa promptly broke down, presumably from that. What puzzles me (and really i should never have to ask this!) is why the house thugbots did no damage at all to Velocirippa when they dumped it in the pit. I mean, that's *good*, but it's a bit like a rabid dog not biting somebody, what's going on? Warhog didn't work and Napalm never did, much. Sort of a competition to see which could score less points. Napalm won on 'aggression' which was a pretty low bar in this case. I think the toughest struggle was the judges trying to decide who won. Thermidor vs Prizephyta was a good flipper duel. Interesting that Thermidor can run perfectly well inverted, just not flip effectively. Thermidor was a lot more active than Prizephyta but eventually broke down, so Prizephyta the winner. Wild Thing vs Napalm - again Wild Thing's advantage was its manouvreability, never mind trying to do damage, just push the slow Napalm into the pit. As Napalm said, "safe place to be." Alien vs Prizephyta - well I hadn't expected that. Prizephita managed a sneaky flip on Alien and Alien's SRM didn't quite work. Wild Thing vs Prizephita - Wild Thing started out well, but then it was all Prizephita's for a while, and then all Wild Thing's after they finally managed to recover from being stranded on their side. Could have gone either way. I'm pleased at the judges decision but I wouldn't feel robbed if they'd gone for Prizephita.
Trouble 'N' Strife fucking robbed by the cretin judges/producers, and the fucking house robots interfering too (why the fuck is Matilda that side of the arena at 6:11?).
@@samfm5244 idk thermidor is a better robot for sure but their design was easy to flip for prizephita While splinter would be harder to flip could go either waybi think But tbh iam happy wild thing went through otherwise we would never had wild thing vs chaos 2
Wild thing vs Prizephita is definitely among top 10 controversial decisions in RW, and probably the most controversial in Series 5.
Fuck Wild Thing.
And then it's next fight was one of the greatest ever... funny how things work out...
@popeleox1202 Wtf are you talking about, dumfq? Wild Thing was immobilised for 20 seconds prior to that.
Those wanker judges really fucked a lot of people over.
I do wish Thermidor 2 could have done better, he's so cute! Thanks for this upload I enjoy this show.
We don't do cute on Robot Wars!

I wish Trouble and Strife had refined this design instead of going the ring spinner route. That undercutter was giving Wild Thing a ton of problems.
Thermidor's weaknesses: experienced competitors. What? 18:39
Napalm vs Warthog, wow, what a legendary fight, an absolute clash of titans.
You Mean What a Legendary Stinker of a Fight, A Car Fire of Epic Proportions!
Thermidor's driving/weapons operation was absolutely horrendous in their battle. Was extremely winnable but they really threw.
Funny to see most of the robots (even the old ones) with attached spinning disc :D
R.I.P Nick Adams
Oh no 😢

Warhog vs Napalm BEST FIGHT EVER. Napalm's weapon: luck.

Trouble n Strife is from the same team that did M.R Speed Squared from series 8-9
Also Trevor Wright on Velocirippa from the Ironside III team
Have you ever see alan young ( dave young's brother ) around any robot fighting show
Rexart35 yup team forsey
Wild Thing vs Trouble n strife and Wild Thing vs Prize Phita Mach 2 are on the top 15 battles of the 5th wars.

Have always felt the same. That claw caused a lot of underappreciated damage
If there was a fight where a robot won on a 0 / -2 judges decision, it's Napalm 2 vs Warhog.

I wish I would have listened to you!
I remember seeing this on BBC2.
Only great thing about the Napalm team is Vicky 😉 She's gorgeous 💖
Would have rather had wild thing and trouble n strife go to the second round. Than either bot in the war hog v napalm fight
@7:06 Both teams clearly got their T-shirts made by the same company!
38:59 Wild Thing trying to breakdance.
I want to love Thermidor 2 but the fact that they are arguably the least reliable robot in the history of the show makes it very difficult.
Ever met a certain Dreadnaught?
Why least reliable?

Oh FUFUKSAKE WARHOOOOOG!!!!!
Isi Adams went from a dumpy tween in Series 4 to a lovely young lady in Series 5 :-o
Weird not seeing clair greenaway in the team
Thing 2 vs Prizephita in series 3 heat N. That's where they met before.
Philippa 💖💖💖💖
20:28 Chaos 2 ended up the same problem the following series

Let's watch this... i bet Napalm will defeat every robot even houserobots. And Thermidor with Wild Thing in one heat uh... shouldn't be like that
Napalm stuck in season 2 and it was crap then
ugh, i still dislike Napalm... this machine is at least somewhat improved from the one they used in wars 2 through 4.
Wild Thing had no business going through here.
What's more sad to think that pitting no-hopers Napalm was to be Wild Thing's only knockout victory throughout Series 5 and Extreme 1.
Really? Wild thing won the 2nd half of the battle.
Prizephita should've been out not the alien
This group seemed the weakest in a while.
One of the worst episodes of the series.
man... these robots suck SO BAD compared to battlebots robots.
Being made for different reasons. Your precious FrenZy was no match for Mortis.
BURN!
Not really surprising, the country is 5 times smaller and the teams get less money from the producers.
Louis Friend plz leave England alone
And yet we have the population of your two largest states and 5th largest economy in the world.
They don't get any money from the producers.
