From our 2011 conversation:
Mac Miller sat down with Nick Huff Barili for an in depth interview. Mac says that it doesn't feel real yet to be out of high school and opens up about a few topics including, college, evolution from Easy Mac to Mac Miller, being introduced to Hip Hop by older brother and early music influences including Big L, Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Beatles and Bob Marley. Mac takes pride in being a kid and says that its not about age but about having a positive and care-free attitude in life, which was his inspiration for his mixtape K.I.D.S. Mac plays the role of XXL editors for a minute and pick a couple artists he thinks should be on Freshmen 2011 cover, including Big Krit, Kendrick Lamar and Yelawolf. Label mate Wiz Khalifa has Taylor Gang, Mac Miller has the Thumbs Up movement. Though he doesn't have a name for his fans yet Mac says that it's more important to him to spread positive vibes at all times movement. With Wiz and Mac's careers taking off, Mac says that they don't get to kick it and smoke as much as they use to because the are not often in the same part of the country. As the conversation continues Mac opens up about wanting to work with Pharrell, say he see himself doing a song with Waka Flocka and says he plan to release a free album in March called "Best Day Ever" featuring original production. He is not worried about signing to a major label and rather focuses on taking everything day by day.
The hype and buzz has brought some Mac Miller haters, what does Mac think of them? "Keep Hating!!" We will let him tell you why.
Mac ends the interview by saying that he will take your money in a basketball, Madden and NBA 2K (We might have to take you up on that!). Also, says that when its all said and done he wants to be proud of what he has accomplished and that he changed things for the better, including opening up charities, restaurants, etc.

Being the same age and finding him early it really had me attached. His musical progession was so special and unique. There are only two artists that made me feel so connected and love life. Bob Marley and Mac Miller.
Hearing him talk about all the things he wanted to do so that when it's all said and done he could be proud was heart wrenching.
He definitely can be proud bcuz he was and will always be in a league of his own. But he should have been here with us for so much longer. RIP MAC

Being a Mac fan since Ill Spoken it was really dope seeing him starting to get interviews like this and looks within the Hip Hop community.
I think I subscribed to this channel a year or so before when he did a Wiz interview so I was pumped to see Mac pop up on here!
