Hi, I’m a beginner skier, and I was wondering why there’s such a big difference between the initial maximum slope gradient mentioned and the actual slope gradient in your video as you ski down the piste. Could you explain this briefly? Love your Videos!
Good question! I am aware of that and the problem is with the telemetry software, Virbedit, which samples GPS data once every second... so it averages out the gradient and does a poor job. I used to use Dashware, it's much more accurate and samples GPS data ten times per second. This software will average out the percentage but not the degrees (I displayed both), so it reached 37 degrees, which is actually 75%. @@ChasingSnow Good, 🤞 for you. Why? You've experienced the steepness of those runs coloured black, and I've not even skied down a resort green run yet. The closet I got was having to ski in my group an icy Diable blue in Les Deux Alpes on my second day, and in a whiteout, in which fell twice out of control and slightly twisted my left knee. I'd need the confidence to do the runs in the video first, or I'd end up with more then a swollen left knee.
Merry Christmas Martin, to you and family... I'm still waiting for my van but it should almost be done... finger crossed, I'll be back on the slopes soon to start my season...

Winter is coming!
Merry Christmas!
Winter is here! Lots of snow! I'm just waiting for my van to be fixed and off I go... Merry Christmas to you too!
106 км/ч - рекорд на твоих видео
Yes, that's about the fastest I've recorded...
И уклоны наверное самые крутые
In part 2, I ski the steepest...
Nope, well, anyway not yet. Hope you had a nice Christmas, and the van repairs are going well and are on track.
The van is being put back together right now, so hoping to get it back very soon. Why the "Nope, not yet"?

Ok, now I understand... I wasn't sure what you meant... skiing is a lifetime of learning... enjoy your journey :-)
Happy Christmas (date of viewing). Have you managed to fix your van issues yet? Best Wishes for 2025.
