One problem that hinders America taking care of their own people is America is also having millions of other country's people flooding in expecting to be cared for too.
I understand that the people in many other countries live lives of poverty and oppression. But the solution to their problems usually lie in their country, not migrating to and receiving years of public welfare in a developed nation in the northern hemisphere. Asylum is not the birthright of every person soon as they are able to walk. It is a gift granted at the democratically determined permission of a country granting that asylum under rules set by that country. This is not what is the case in America today.
