    Thanks for sharing this! Super informative and helpful. My family and I are urban homesteaders too. We just invested in some egg laying chickens and love growing our own vegetables in the backyard. Dad had his worm farm last year and we had some great compost as soil. But then he neglected his worms and they died :( So now I'm thinking of taking over and doing a worm farm. These videos couldn't have come at a better time! :)

I hope you just moved on to something else, and that there has not been some tragedy. If there has, you have my prayers. Hey Natalie, got a question. My 'black gold' is ready to harvest! I've got a lot of worms! I've been trying the feed on one side of the bin and let the worms go to food and then you are supposed to be able to scoop up from the opposite side 🙃... well I think I have too many 🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛🐛worms. I am stuck and I don't know what to do. And pretty much all that's in my bin is moist black gold and worms🐛! Help! My bin system right now is a Rubbermaid type bin. I drilled holes in the bottom and upper sides and lid for air. It must be ok because they are reproducing like rabbits 🐇🐇. I have the bin sitting on an old lid and it has nice worm castings that have soaked/leaked through. The 🐛worms are so happy 😊 I keep finding a bunch on the bottom lid and climbing up the sides and onto the lid! HELP ME!
    Thanks so much! Debra, your neighbor in Vista 😅
    Ps. I still need to give you some fresh eggs 🥚 😁

    • @heyitsagoodlife
      @heyitsagoodlife  3 года назад

      I hear you. & it shouldn’t require too much dirt really. For me the point is making a lot of compost in a small area. It’s also about stewardship, believing that caring fir these small creatures will teach me how to have the capacity to care for larger creatures later.

  • @sharidawsonshearer6108
