Love this!!!
I am very much enjoying your videos. I have CDs soaking in alcohol to remove the blue tint my CDR CDs have once the holographic covering was off. I have duct tape sparklies galore to use in mixed media. For a different project I made cracked dollar store glass marbles (I have red, green and clear-- I love the sparkle of the clear so I will use that.) which I intend to both wrap to dangle and possibly glue in the center of the mandala... will try it with one and see how it turns out. Wanted to share that I saw where if you warm the cds in very hot water it makes them much easier to cut for the shapes... was thinking I might add feathers from old cds as well as part of a charm. Sigrid was showing how to make those and I thought I would make a few of those as well. I LOVE THE COLOR AND THE DETAIL you can achieve with the SHARPIES. I need to pick up some sealer. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR TIPS AND TECHNIQUES> I enjoy listening to you and work on things while listening, as I do with long videos .. so nice to have company while crafting. I share your excitement in how beautiful your mandala suncatchers came out. Thank you again.
Aww you are so very sweet Luanna :) Thank you very much for watching, commenting and sharing your inspiration :) I love your ideas, let me know how they turn out for you :) I hope you are having a wonderful week, take care, PEACE & LOVE :)
Absolutely stunning! If using the Sharpies as a medium and you need white, the acetone idea would work well as a frosted white look. I consider it a happy mistake, lol!
Yes I agree and it actually added a really cool texture to the surface as well ..thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it :)
What kind of sealer did you use for these to keep the colors from fading?
Love these! Now I know why I've been saving all those old CDs!
+Nancy Wiltshire XO
Thank you!
Holy Moly Girlfriend, I'm retired and I can't keep your pace in arting. I love those and yes I will be making some. Right now I continue my purge.
I had a neighbor give me a wonderful thought today, instead of thinking about what I have to get rid of, think of what I want to keep. Isn't that fabulous? So I gave her one of my many candelabra's. (Blush) Yes I had that fetish too. lol
I can hardly wait to see your next project, and I bet you already have it in plan. Keep up the beautiful work. BB
These are absolutely beautiful. You did inspire me and I am working on my first one and some of the holographic stuff is a bugger to get off, any tips? I scratched too hard and have permanent scratches which is ok and I'll work with them but some of those tiny pieces won't come off. Did you wash it before you colored it? Thanks.
These are beautiful Cali. I've been trying to keep track of the products you use so I can pick some up but when you said Sharpie Markers I got all excited. I have a box of 21 that I've been dying to use. Tried to use them in coloring book but they were so heavy but now I can finally use all the pretty colors on something so amazing. Thanks for this and all your videos. Still have a lot to watch still but I'm trying to catch up! Peace and Love to you Gale H.
Try tracing your coloring book images under the clear Cd's with your sharpies too , that can be a lot of fun with the Grandkids ...and like you I am just a big kid at heart, have a blast and let me know how they turn out, have a beautiful day, Peace & Love
The Sharpie ones are my favourite. I have tried the glass stain in the 80's and it's a pain to work with lol...they're all lovely though x
I have to agree, the glass stains are a pain lol...have a great night, Peace & Love
so pretty !!!
+josie gitto thank you XOXO

I have used Gallery Glass for Years, and have a ton of the Gallery Glass paint, and Leading...Bet that Sun-catcher Paint from Kids kits would work too...Don't know I will have to Play...LOL...TYFS ...Love You a very BIG MUCH !!! XOXOXOXO PS You are so Talented drawing your Own Mandalas, Just so Beautiful !!!

hey these are beautiful...can you tell me what brand of glass paint you used please?
+Archita Chandra I can't remember lol but I definately got it on Amazon, I will try to remember to check and get back to you, thank you for commenting :)
Hi, thanks for the tutorial, I have just 1 question. There is a sticky film left on the CD's after taking the foil front off. How do you get that to come off? I have soaked them in hot water, and I tried to scrub it off with soap and hot water, and I tried alcohol, nothing seems to work.
I wonder if the asi tone would take it off a DVD
one question you said you used a sealer but did not show it what did you use
Hey Cali
Its Bobby-Lee again but usually i log in on my basic channel lol I tested these out and omg it worked with the sharpies, duct tape etc. I want to recreate this and of course give you full credit and link your channel to mine. Hope to speak again soon.
P.S I still want to see a real squirrel haha send me one in the mail :)
Yay! I'm so happy that this worked out well for you :) One squirrel with a stamp on his tail is on his way to you (with extra nuts of course )...Peace & Squirrelly LOVE
Love this!!! ВВ)0(
+MR.VICTOR CRAFTER Thank you sweet Victor :) BB )O( XO
I have been given a load of DVDs any idea what I can make with them PLEASE? I make items to help raise money for soft tissue sarcoma
I was thinking of glueing a glass round thingy to cover the hole, I see them in $ store and craft stores
That's a great idea , I've thought of using my Galaxy stones which are basically the same thing, let me know if you do and how they turn out :) Thanks so much for watching and commenting :)
Do you hang them from a rod or hooks?
+Nancy Vastine I have a wire strung and hang them from the keyring :)
I am so making these. I know you showed the easiest way but out of the three mediums, which one did you find was the best quality? I so appreciate your tutorials :)
+rhaven50 Oh cool, I am so happy that you are liking them :) Hmmmmm, hard to say, I really like the Sharpies because of the amount of detail so I vote for them , have fun !! :) XO
Cali Black i went and got sharpies! Having hell of a time getting the stuff off the cds :( What did you use to seal with. I went back and couldnt find it on video. Love ya!
