The drone is taking your footage to a whole new level, Dan. I mean, don't get me wrong, your channel was great before too, but this is next level! Been looking forward to this video!
Thank you Jesse. I’ve been looking forward to adding a new dimension to not just my channel, but to up the level for everyone. No longer are we just smelly lawn guys !
Beautiful job! Edging makes so much of a difference! Now all the driveway and sidewalk needs is a good power washing! Very well done video....loved it! God Bless you and your family!
That was a very good idea, he will learn from the best ! Dan takes his time, does the job right, never see him abuse his equipment, or break it, he takes care of it. A lot of other video's, guys rushing, constantly breaking down their equipment.
Dan you are good because, you ask questions to your self that the viewers will ask and you answer them. Plus those questions that common sense has the answer but hey they are non stupid questions.
I have no idea about cutting grass nor do I here in the UK have a garden large enough to have to think about it, yet something about these videos keeps me watching for hours
What a Great job Dan! My favorite part was when you were going to get started and you waited for the car to pass unlike another "Professional" landscaper i watched that got on his riding mower and blew the grass clipping all in the road as a car was passing instead of going the other way and blowing it on the lawn!
It’s amazing how the edges sod right over when nature is left to run its course. These are the episodes people love because of the awesome transformation! Great work Dan! You da man! 💪🏼
Great video! Thank you for not editing out certain details. I needed to see every second from beginning to end how you edged, blowed, and cleaned up afterwards. Great job on the yard also!
I was looking forward to seeing the blade when you finished. Watching this is so relaxing and instantly rewarding if your doing it . Stay safe stay well
You can kind of see it toward the end of the edging part where I mentioned it was wearing down and getting difficult to use. I totally forgot to show it
Great video as always Dan. The before/after contrast is like night and day.that edging was waaay overdue. A wise man gave me that same exact advice about one bite at a time when I first went to work as a car detailer.i would get overwhelmed when I had a real nasty hog to clean/detail and he always told me do it the same way I would eat an elephant.one bite at a time. I like the drone footage a lot. Please keep the videos coming
Love watching all your videos, I have a small lawn side business as well I have just been using residential weed eater and edger attachment finally but the bullet and got the entry level edger Stihl fs 90 28cc stick edger still curved shaft but man what a freaking difference, I have mad respect for you and I yet and take in all the advice you give it's all very much appreciated, checking in from Alabama by the way..
A great video, Dan. The drone adds an additional dimension to this one. You did a video on edging an overgrown property maybe three years ago that was very good, but this one tops that one. You make a lot of effort to pass along your knowledge. Thanks for that!
Dan , another great video as always! Been watching for years! Thanks for all the value you've given the lawn care community. You've been a huge help in my lawn care journey without a doubt. Thank you brotha. Happy belated Memorial Day thank you for your service 🤘
Thanks Dan, another great video. I have the STIHL Kombi system Km111, do not have the edger attachment, this sold me for sure, it did a great job. No other videos out there show it in action like this.
Great video Dan, I just bought me a Stihl FS 131R weed eater 4 stroke, at first I thought something was wrong with it, with the governor on it. Finally learned how to use it, it's a torque monster, bought the brush cutter blade for it, your right, no screaming 2 stroke anymore, barely give it throttle it goes thru anything.
Dan, Such a great job you do in these instructional videos. You have an incredible work ethic that you are demonstrating to others. Thank you for sharing your money-making tips so that others may benefit if they apply the same effort. Well done!
Companies need to see you stihl echo redmax exmark ......they need to give you free stuff ur expertise and advice will have alot of people buying there product....
Maybe one day, but right now I enjoy telling people what I use and why I like it without it being sponsored or bias. I have a hard time trusting some of these other guys on RUclips
Wow 😮 what a difference OMG! Great job 👏 now can you do my neighbor’s sidewalk, it’s crazy 😝 I would like to help her but I can control the machine only my husband can, that’s why I’m here seeking to learn so thank you so much for showing us the deal 😂🤣💪🏼🙏👍 subscribed to your channel !!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I was trying to guess what was under that car cover and then the drone went up lol. Never would've guessed a Porshe. Good clean job as always on the edging.
Thanks for talking about that 4 mix power head. I’ve been curious about how they compare to the old 2 cycle engines. Another great job on the edging job.
One of your best videos. Clear footage, good tips, and get to see some unique tricks not often seen (like cut under with the edger to bring the height down). Love the drone before and after shots.
I enjoy the walk behind model, much easier on the back. It’s an older early 90’s 2.0 hp Yardman model, uses almost the same blade as your Stihl model...and only cost me $30.00 used. Virtually maintenance free. I agree on the do a little, clean up a little that way you’re not struggling with the clean up all at once, and should it rain....well! That was one serious over grown sidewalk, looks nice and clean, other than the stains.
You taught me a lot from this video. First, to work in small sections and move slowly and focus, second to go back and forth over the same area until you've happy with it. Third, Clean up as you go, less overwhelming in the end. Why do you angle the edger in on the final pass?
Thanks for keeping it real.Ive used a lot of your suggestions successfully especially on the simpson pressure washing.. I wasn't aware stihl had 4 stroke trimmers I have a large km 562 stroke that I've had for years to deal with 200 ft of Moroccan Ivy which is gone so I don't have much to edge. Thanks again .
This is one of those edging jobs I'd like to see a race between a string trimmer and proper edger to see which does the better job both in speed and quality. So many think a trimmer can do just as good, but I don't see it. Not on something like this. Let alone how much string it would take. If they didn't have multiple spools ready to go, it would be ridiculous. The edger is going to win easily in this situation.
I have been doing this for 30 years, I know the edger is far more efficient in speed and materials used. It Alstatt pleases the customer to hear that blade over the whip
@@DansVlog I go thru an edger blade once every 3 lawn cuts. I have a corner house with a million feet of sidewalk. I'm amazed how a piece of metal can get worn down so quickly from just cutting grass and dirt. Good video. Thanks...
Hey dan Awesome video and tips. I find it easier to go bakwards first then foward and back as the gear doesnt get caught up as much but that is just me. The lawn looks alot nicer with the edges done. Once its all mowed and trimmed all it would need is a high pressure clean of the driveway and side walk and it would look 100% night and day different. Stay safe and keep up the hustle Thanks from perth western australia
LOL. You should have seen my place after I bought it. One of the previous owners added soil to cover up old landscaping they didn't want anymore. So now my yard is 2" above the concrete level. I'm constantly having to edge to keep it looking nice.
Awesome video! Hopefully, that person takes care of the upkeep after your hard work? It's so much easier from that point on. You can easily maintain it with a trimmer, won't look as nice but will still look good.
You did real good Dan. That was some major overgrowth. You did seem to be struggling at times, very unusual for you. Just goes to show you how overgrown it actually was. But, one task at a time, like you said. I find it hard to believe that the H.O.A. let him get away with that for 2yrs. Must’ve had to pay some major fees. Your new blade was toast by the end. Excellent tutorial & technique Dan. Dude was lucky to have you.💯❤️✊🏾🙏🏾🇺🇸
I was shocked he made it this far as well. Super nice guy tho. We have a lot in common and find out he has a 12 yr old son who likes same activities as my 12 yr old.
I got the fs90 4 mix and added the blade cutter to it.purchased the lightweight fs40 yesterday with the auto cut spool.line the arrows up push the string through so equal amount out of both holes and twist.realy easy to respool

this property would make for a great power washing video
Same thought here! All lawn that not get egde clean for years will tell you that you need power wash after you finish edge work lol
Dan turning that little foot path into a real sidewalk! haha! Nice job, Brother!

2 seconds into the video and I knew this was going to be good.
