- This is a DIY Easy Gnome Valentine's Treat Container/no sew gnomes and Valentine's treats. This is an easy Valentines gnome diy, using a craft tube. This Valentine's gnome is for any one who loves gnomes. This is great to fill and give as a gift, or leave empty and use for Valentine decor. These work real well for tiered tray decor because of there small size. They measure 6" tall. You will fall in love with this little guy. This is an easy gnome tutorial.

Valentine’s cotton fabric - Joann's Fabrics
Plush fleece - Joann’s Fabrics
Hearts - 1 (2”) and 1 (1 1/4”) Dollar Tree

Patti, instead of chip wood, could you use card stock? I would like to fill with wrapped treats, seal the top and ship via mail. Or should I go ahead with the chip wood?
You could use card stock, but I think I would use craft foam instead. It won't bend in shipping.
These are super cute!! I was wondering if I couldn't find the tubes ,Could I use PVC pipe? I wasn't sure about using that around food products? And what size pipe would I need? Thanks Roberta. The ones I used came from Hobby Lobby. They are 1 11/16" x 4 1/2" Amazon has some similar. You could probably use a paper towel roll, The diameter is within 1/16" of an inch from those. You could use PVC, just make sure your candy is wrapped. Happy New Year to you and your family also.
Patti, can you use toilet paper rolls because I can’t find the craft tubes. I do have the cardboard rolls that Cricut vinyl comes around and they are thicker than the toilet paper rolls. They’re longer but can be cut down. I think Amazon has craft tubes but if I can use what I have…….😊
You can use a paper towel roll or a Cricut vinyl roll. Toilet paper rolls might be a little thin. Thanks, Patti
I have read the supply list and watched several times. Admittedly I am a complete novice. Am I just missing the step or where you share the size of fabric you start with for the hat or how big it should be cut??

@@PattiJGood If you have a Cricut (or other) cutting machine and use vinyl, the cardboard tubes that come inside the vinyl are 1 10/16" (just 1/16" smaller than at HL) and would work! Just take a craft knife and cut them to the length you need. I always keep them thinking there will be some sort of use for them!

You probably only need less than a 3rd of a yard. These don't take much.

Patti, I have a TERRIBLE time trying to cut these fur beard. You say to cut the backing and not the fur but I can’t figure out how to do that. Is there any way that you can demonstrate how to do that, up close? I ordered the fur from your supply list.

Can I use toilet paper rolls?
Susan, you probably could, they are close to this size but not as thick. You may want to add some card stock around it to stiffen it up though. A paper towel roll is 1/16" smaller than the craft tubes and are thicker than toilet paper rolls. Just cut them to 4 1/2" in length.
Since you are pulling the hat off, it would be fun to put some big googly eyes, or really pretty eyes with long lashes.
