    Nothing genuine at all. Linux has had tabs and varies other GUI improvements in their distros for many years. However, nice to see MS branching out some. Personally, though I think such improvements sometimes over complicates the GUI for many users. The best experience I feel for the user is a GUI where the user can toggle features on or off. This is where the GUI becomes tailored to the user and their preferences. (The mayhem of Linux distro hoppers). Afterall we are all different in what we think works best for us. Windows base needs to be plain and minimalistic for a fresh install. Then have different themes for users can choose how they work best. All customizable and toggled to have 100's of variations in colors, smoothing, tabs, etc. This would be an ideal windows experience. This is what I hope develops into the windows of the future.

    6:10 That UX is shockingly bad to be honest.
    You'd open the menu, and all devices are listed. Many people have 3-4 or more devices.
    (especially as Windows duplicates any bluetooth device because it handles bluetooth codec switches terribly)
    So, most of the menu would be taken up by those.
    Then, there's an almost empty line for Spatial Audio, which your device doesn't even support, apparently.
    Then, there's an almost empty line for the selected option of Spatial Audio, which your device doesn't even support, apparently.
    And at the bottom, there's the volume mixer. Which is fine and all, but one thing is blatantly missing.
    I don't know whether the first icon represents "System Sounds" or if it's just the overall volume of the PC. But whichever one it is, the other one is missing.
    EarTrumpet had this figured out years ago.
    (Though to be fair, the device selection on the main menu is absolute garbage. But the right click menu works wonderfully.)

    • @hundvd_7
      @hundvd_7 Год назад

      Oh, and so did the Gamebar volume mixer. That controls *exactly* how it should.
      Device select at the top, then overall volume, then individual apps.
      And they can be pinned to the top, or you can just scroll the menu for whatever option you need.
      (It would be neat if I could toggle a checkbox to see only the ones that are currently playing something, though.)
      _And_ you can change the mic settings on the second tab.
      It's beautiful and efficient. I genuinely don't understand how they can come up with something so useless after they have the perfect UI to copy from
