2 Railroad Diamonds At 4 Track RR Crossing & Long CSX Train With DPU Crosses Norfolk Southern Main

- 2 Railroad Diamonds right next to a 4 track railroad crossing with a long CSX mixed freight train with DPU passing over the Norfolk Southern main line! Awesome trains in Muncie, Indiana. Also we see how a hi-rail pickup truck gets on the railroad tracks. This unusual railroad crossing has railroad diamonds only a few feet away. Not many places where there are railroad diamonds right next to a public sidewalk and public RR crossing. I included the Google Maps in this video so that you can see how close the diamonds are to the road. I also filmed both sides of the crossing. We see a motel just to the north of the crossing and you can get a room to watch the trains. Muncie, Indiana is trying to create a railfan viewing platform just to the west of this crossing and I show the area that is proposed. The local railfans told us about it but I don't have any other details. I went to Muncie with my friend Scott who has the RUclips channel called 1960gambit. Check out his videos and subscribe! There are also 2 other railroad diamonds just to the west of this location and I will have videos posted of them once I figure out the problem with my other camera that I filmed them with. I filmed this on September 24, 2021.

Terrific video 👍👍👍
Oh my thousands of Tons! You figure? Nice!!
So trains that go through Diamonds I could watch all day. The clattering is like music. The green hoppers in the DPU train also have a nice color. That's a nice movie spot. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
Greetings Sven!

Good Morning Jaw Tooth!
Good morning!
Great video....
Amazing videos jaw tooth keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do!
Both Jaw Tooth and Hobo Shoestring have the best train video`s that you can find on the internet. What i like about them is that they explain what you are seeing and they both have a wealth of information of the railroad industry. Thanks Jaw Tooth keep up the good work and be careful out there
Wow, thanks!
Excellent video you film everything from diamonds to water tower signals and what train action. 👍👍👍👍. Thanks again jawtooth
That is great that Municie is going to put in a rail fan observation platform. With that many trains coming through each day, that is a big number for these days. Those trains were long ones. Gonna be seeing lots of grain trains With the harvest going on now. The farmers i know have had a good year with good yield with both soybeans and corn. Enjoy as always, watching video of the cat and dogs. Ya'all take care.
Muncie,In. , My home town. Shot from South Walnut St. There used to be a lot more crossings here.
The Norfie and Chessie show was worth the price of admission ... Good vid Son ...
Thanks Eddy!
Did I see two TTX boxcars with zero graffiti? The Norfolk Southern engines were filthier than the CSX engines. And an Uncle Pete! Very cool. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Nice long trains today. Thanks for the videos. 👍😊🇺🇸
Glad you like them!
Nice sound that kedengedeng,whooohooooo.lol. graet video Brian.
Very cool! Good Morning Jawtooth!!!

Now that is what I call a train :-)) I would be spoiled if I lived there, too much train action!! :-))
Nice JT, the hobby shop is only about 2 blocks away in downtown
Muncie, if you watched this episode
Brandon, hey brother!!! He owns what was Gupta hobby shop!!!!
Great location. Some pretty good size trains today.
Great video Jawtooth! Really cool spot! Really wide crossing for such a busy road! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot!
Hey Jaw Tooth! Thanks for another great video. My Mom (age 94) and I had supper and watched it. Thanks for show. She likes the dog and cat bonus!! 😁 😁 Two more rail fans.
Great catch. Those were long freight trains
I wondered what DPU meant
Now I know
Thanks for the info
Stay safe
It stands for two trains coupled together so that the railroad does not have to pay for a second crew.
It’s kind of fun watching high rail trucks get on the tracks. Hello kitty. She is not chubby, she is just right
great video , nice work once again , that is so cool that they put those railfan platforms in , stay safe be well , take care
Ohhh I know muncie Indiana is I was born and raised in Indiana Terre haute Indiana, fort Wayne Indiana, and brazil Indiana are also good locations for trains hope you enjoy my home state jawtooth there is plenty to see
Very cool!
@@JawTooth thanks If you ever need more areas for Indiana or texas let me know I know of a train yard here in texas in downtown New Braunfels across from the New Braunfels civic center it's the union Pacific yard and then the colman plant off of common street in new Braunfels has a side yard with 2 lines that go into a main
Awesome location
Very very nice
Nice catches
Hi from South Africa. Thanks again for the videos. Nice to see a SD70ACe. My favourite modern loco. The CSX train with only 2 locos, 1 lead and 1 DPU was impressive. the modern locos are powerfull.
Cool that they are putting in a rail fan platform .
Big trains, crazy interlocking. Cant beat it. BTW - Ron Popeil would be proud of you.
Great Report as always!! I liked a lot this diamond crossing. Thank you very much Mr. Jaw Tooth!😀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
Was just over at that same spot Saturday morning!!! Love it right there..
Lovely Post my friend.
Many many thanks
Awesome video JT!!!
Wonderful. Thank you very much.
Thank you too!
Congratulations! Nice fishing. There were only big fish in this net.
Excellent ☺️👌
Thanks a lot 😊
Thanks JT! The UP engine ( up front ) was a treat on a N/S train.
Nice catch of the UP lead locomotive, son!
👍🏻🙋🤩🅰️➕🆗 Excellent video J.T.
Ohio & Indiana are Home to some of the Strangest & Most Unique railroad crossings in the US. 👍
A few of those have to be 4 lane crossings of US Highway's. Also as a friend pointed out probably one of the last RR overpass constructed complete with jaded green PC emblems. Its now on an abandoned line made into a bikepath. Even used to laugh about how the Monon conductor better have good seat cushions as they clomped across 13 RR Xings from.Monon to South Bend
The one at Griffith Indiana takes the cake lol. There was about six Class 1 roads cross each other at one time
@@stephenheath8465 the one small town junction I really would have liked to see in its heyday was LaCrosse IN with 5 routes if I remember and all were mains or at worst secondary
Interesting. I believe that joint in the rail is squeaking (first train). You can't miss it. Can't hear the diamonds until the end :) Very nice CSX w/DPU and great diamond noise :)
Good morning Brian!
It sounded like it only squeaked with the heavier cars.
That crossing looks a lot like another crossing located in Griffith Indiana. You might want to check that one out sometime. It is just as busy with train traffic. Thanks for another fantastic video.
Union Pacific Diesel engine is one my favorite train and also the Railroad diamond. In IN.
Beautiful videos! Congratulations!!🇧🇷🇺🇸🇧🇷🇺🇸🇧🇷🇺🇸🇧🇷🇺🇸
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for going over to Muncie, Indiana and documenting these trains! Muncie, Indaina appears to be an interesting train watching location. Forty trains a day sounds like a nice amount of train traffic so that a railfan could catch a good number of trains in a four or five hour period. Thank you for uploading this video for your subscribers to watch!
GRACIAS AMIGO POR ESTE GRAN VIDEO DE HOY.
Busy spot with lots of good catches to be had.
Liking the incobrasa Industries Ltd hoppers, adding some color like the 70-80’s rolling stock!
Same here!
nice place to crack walnuts ?? thanks JT
Woo! You got lucky there, son! 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
I love jaw tooth videos
Thanks Andy!
Good video jawtooth
The longer the better!
Muncie Indiana so much nickel plate history still there.
Definitely a lot of the old now Norfolk Southern coming through Richmond Indiana very high volume of trains that come out of Muncie
Great video! I always go to google maps to see if I can spot where you are in a town. Looks like the West side of S Walnut St. this time. You always shoot your videos at interesting and/or scenic locations.👏👏👏👏👏
Love train 🚂🚂 horn all good here from Indiana Plymouth live by 2setof tracks but my house
Missed horn on first train, must be a quiet zone, or did I just miss?
Nice kids, love playing with your animals. I've seen two dogs besides Chessie, all great
Thanks for watching
when that hotel went in making downtown a quiet zone was a requirement
Surprised the NS line isn't continuous welded rail. The first train must be two put together (another percission railroading special) thought there would be a mid train dpu at double
start of the double stack and/or a dpu on the end.
Even with CWR, it seems there's often a rail joint near a crossing or diamond.
cool, hanging out in my hometown! Where that first NS train came through used to keep going straight instead of joining the far east-west track. it then ran right up Madison street from about at the McDonalds all the way up to where the gas station now is. was a small yard there too. There used to be a whole lot more tracks where you were filming as well and a roundhouse and cooling tower to the west
Was just watching that train go through and I check every car up closely. I was blown away to notice that one of those hopper cars w the green graffiti has been in my neck of the woods when I've been to the Clayton Interchange when NS meets DCR our local short line. It was the cylindrical hopper car right behind the 2 AUTORACKS.
Nice one JT!
Thanks!
wow! Nice catch again! I wonder if that CSX train got stuck on the climb just North of Bellefontaine. Just for a heads up they put ( OWLS ) diamonds at Quincy. So hearing fast trains slam through is a thing of the past.
nice to see that SD70ACe is “UNDER WARRANTY” 😂
great video! it’s a Norfolk Southern line, but they decided to use Union Pacific up front as lead! interesting
I think yellow/green for NS is Approach Diverging. I see that signal by my house occasionally where a single track becomes double.
The second train must have (sounded) empty. That was a lot of train for one pulling with a single DPU.
Nice location. Take care and safe traveling.
That cat needs some bologna! Chessie too!
Love the Chessie and Norfie endings! Just a heads up from the "Crazy Cat Lady "....a small amount of bologna for a treat is okay, but the sodium in it can be toxic for kitties. I would hate to see her get sick.😢
The sound of the wheels at the diamonds is like the rhythm of African drums.
I love railroad diamonds
I see that Halloween is getting ready! Thank you again for this interesting video.
I'm surprised that grain train didn't have shipping containers.. for real, ✌️💪
Thats the CSX MAIN coming out of
Anderson yards then heading east
to Ohio via Muncie Indiana!! NS
has their yard off McGalliard in
Muncie by the shopping malls!!
That line heads to Frankfort Indiana
which is the Old Nickel Plate line,
after it crosses the Big 4 NYC DOW
LINE in Alexandria Indiana!!
Indiana is rich in railroad history JT!!
Thanks for the share JT. Hit that like button folks! see ya on the next one.
I appreciate it
Fat Kitty, shows a Loving Home.... and Chessy is a true personality dog ... Great Family Happy Halloween👻👺👹🤡.....
So cool to see you railfanning near my hometown! I was at that spot just a few months ago, not too many people know about it and was wondering when it would finally be discovered. Great vid
I was 13 when I traveled with my cousin on his semi, loaded with soap through Muncie Indiana, en route to Fremont Nebraska.
Looks like those dispatchers between railroads have to keep in touch
Miss it in the Conrail Days from the Mid80s to Late90s and Mid2000s. Old Trains of TV3 and 5 , Mail 4 and TV 6 MANIFEST TRAINS OF INPI/PIIN, STBN/BNST to Name a Few
When I hear the trains crossing a “diamond”, it makes a sound I would want to add to a song
Saya suka kereta api nya
from indonesia?
Thanks for watching my videos!
That guy is so funny, but wait there's more!!! I get a kick out of him 😂 around 16:30
Love from vietnam
Thanks for watching my videos!
Great Catch 🚂🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋 I'm A Subscriber
Another awesome live action video Jawtooth loved the trains that's an amazing crossing right there howd you find that
I found it while looking at Google Maps
If you ever get the chance to come to California the Sacramento area is pretty cool set ups of railroad crossings and what not
Munition the train is so the strong ya my friend
Thanks for watching!
Okey
