but how can we determine the sample size when we want to both quantitative and qualitative study? what number of key informants must be considered or included to quantitative sample

Thank you for your comment, and you asked a great question. to determine the sample size in mixed research study, it depends on the nature of the research. for instance, if the QT data dominates the ql data, it is better to follow the sample size determination procedures used for quantitative research. b/c ql data informants are expected to be few, since their role is to support, verify and triangulate the QT data. Similarly, if QL dominates qt in your research, it is better to follow different sampling techniques that work for qualitative research. b/c qt data informants are expected to be few, since their role is to support and verify the QL data. Don't forget to take care of in generalizing your final findings, since qualitative research is not generalized. Furthermore, please watch about mixed research designs from the attached links.
