I grew up seeing this 5 times a day if the TV is on. I live and work in Florida and calling this area "friendly" is a real stretch. I'm sure you can imagine.
I live in Florida and I remember watching this commercial. The coronavirus coming to my state brought me back here. I really hope and pray that not too many seniors get sick and that they recover.
My mom said she felt sad every time she saw the ad with this song playing, because she thought of it as a place where old people go to pretend to be happy as they're actually rotting away. And was sad that's where she'll end up when she's old 😂 That was 20+ years ago though, and now she's old but still stable enough to function, however she's starting to show signs of early dementia 😢
My grandparents moved to a retirement community about 7 years before my grandfather died and about 15 years before my grandmother did. Shortly after moving in their health deteriorated to a point where they were too weak to enjoy the amenities. In fact most of the residence there stayed in the house most of the time. The promotional videos show everyone is great health, but sadly that doesn't last for many.
Whaaaaatt? Actually, The Villages homes start around $75K on up to over $2 million. Most though are patio homes (houses on small lots with a small front yard and private rear patio) and cost from about $135K to $150K. See for yourself on the Villages website. BTW, NO, I am not a Villages sales rep!

At 6, I thought it would be a cooler vacation than Disneyland from the commerical. Turns out it's a retirement community
It’s like ALWAYS being on vacation
@@henrymagoun3230Right? I went as far as to ask my parents to take me there as a kid 😂
It is pretty fun
It is cooler than Disneyland

I just remember there being an STD outbreak... and we used to sing "Chla-mid-i-aahhhh"

billybassman21 People come here to die.
The village where you have doctors offices ,pharmacies, and grave yards for stores . 🤣🤣🤣
In the future, I'll be moving my parents to The Villages, because I'll be moving to Orlando myself.
I made a village in Minecraft and I’m trying to play this song with noteblocks underneath it but I can’t find a piano tutorial :(
My in-laws had to make a reservation to visit their uncle’s private property in The Villages because they’re less than 60 years old
What year was this commercial made?
I heard Hannity play this on his radio show. He is trapped in liberal hell. I hope he finally gets his dream.
Drunk Joe Biden brought me here
This comment aged beautifully

Where the Trump supporters in Florida live.
billybassman21 They infest most of the state.
This might not have aged well. Vice President Harris just had a great show of support from the people living there.
@@PeachWookiee 150 thousand people live there, a gymnasium full of people doesn’t mean much.
The golf cart parade was a big deal there, though.
@@PeachWookiee not really surprised. Old people now are baby boomers that are still hippies at heart.
Why do I get this racist vibe
batmanalk Racism? Where? Theres not so much as a hint of racism here. It's just your imagination.
@batmanalk you were ahead of your time.
That they couldn't even be bothered to put a heavily tanned White person who could at least pass for something else? lol
Because you are racist
God this place looks awful.
Contrived for sure.. but it's a very safe, very safe.. comprendo?
It looks awesome to me
Funny how the friendliest hometown doesn't have any people of color. LOL

@@pieterwillembotha6719 Uh... bruh...
