- Happy almost 2024! In today's video, I'm talking about my makeup collection & consumption goals for the upcoming year, and also going over what my goals were in 2023 and if I hit those goals. I'm also discussing how the last six months went - if I'm going to continue the no buy, and what my relationship to makeup is like now. I cover my current relationship with makeup, what I did well this past year, and my project pan plans. I'm curating my collection and I'm talking all things minimalism & decluttering, makeup no-buy and low-buy, and project pan.

HAHAHA it’s that time between Christmas and new years when no one knows what day it is and it doesn’t really matter 🫣
Giving deadlines to products is a great idea! You feel so bad about not getting enough use out of something, but then getting stuck in the rut of using something you're not enjoying sucks. I've got way too many lip products so I've pulled out 12 of the oldest, that I plan to use throughout the year and then at the end of the year, they can all be decluttered and I won't feel "bad" since I got enough use on them and can move onto the next lot to get through.
ooh that's a great plan!! Having a full year to work on particular products feels like long enough to enjoy them :)
I really like the idea of giving yourself a deadline with a product you’re on the fence about. I set products aside but then I feel like it takes FOREVER for me to actually make the final decision on whether or not it stays or goes. I will definitely be implementing this idea in the coming year, so thank you for the idea!
Yay I'm so glad to hear - because I've had that issue too! I did a couple videos about products on the 'chopping block' where I needed to decide if they were a keep or declutter, and that was helpful as well.
I like your Blush Roulette idea-- I did something similar last year and it did help me get more use of my (very large) blush/highlighter collection. A month is a great amount of time, you get to take advantage of all the subtle shifts in light over the course of the seasons that way.

After project panning for almost 3 years I can finally say I reached most of my goals for my makeup collection (except for lip products, I still have quite a lot but I’m slowly working through them). So I’m seriously considering switching my goals and aim for number of uses instead of finishing products as I don’t have many old items anymore. In 2024 I’d like to rotate my eyeshadow palettes, blushes and lipsticks in order to give them more love.
I’ll also do a 2 months no buy until March (it’s my birthday month, so I’ll definitely get some makeup) and then indulge myself on May when I travel to UK.
I’m excited to follow your progress in 2024 and see what are the new products you got 😊 Happy New Year!!
That's incredible! I'm not quite at that point yet but I think in 2025 I will finally be in the realm of achieving my makeup goals (similarly, likely not in the lip product categories though).

I'm over here in Michigan, same thing: no snow, all gloom. Whatever happened to beautiful sunny winter days after a snowstorm?! (sigh) Happy New Year!
ugh exactly, I don't mind the winter when it's pretty and sunny and snowy!
What about including the blush roulette thing in project pan updates?
I want to try making that a separate project because I'm not planning on doing a lipstick project pan - at least for the first couple updates! To see how it goes :)
It's so horribly disappointing to see implied support for that awful woman from you. Is hp really more important to you than real trans folx?
I am deeply sorry to have given that impression - I do not support JKR or her views and have done my best to make that clear. I acknowledge that she has caused real harm. I did not realize that using a HP mug would imply otherwise and I will not use it in future videos. I apologize for this oversight.
