I bet Jean is enjoying the fortes and the pianos that a pianoforte can afford a skillful player! You can't get that effect from a harpsichord. :))) Good job, bravo Maestro, I'm your new ardent devotee!
I was gonna say, sounds very "twentieth century", but we're now in the twenty first century. This is uncharted territory. I don't know what to call this!
Great musician like Jean Rondeau understands the instrument (harpsichord or piano, no matter) he is using to deliver his heart, mind and body. Wonderful piece and performance.
Nice to hear him play Piano. I know he does tons of Baroque -would love to see him interpret Chopin! His phrasing with the Baroque stuff is superb. Technically 100% but plays with emotion - which is something too many Classical performers are lacking these days.
HIs touch is very much of a GOOD pianist, such as Keith Jarrett (classical as well as jazz) or Juan Perez Floristan (classical but with very open ears)
I have never heard sounds like this from a Steinway before. 👏
and why are they all black? gotta love those harpsichords he plays and their artwork

WHEN THE MAN AND THE MUSIC BECOME ONE ENTITY
Amazing how far away this from baroque harpsichord is - and so beautiful and natural.
Beautiful. No wonder you understand Barroque music so well...and give it Barroque LIFE!
Lyrical... Pure Poetry. Rondeau is a genius. Rare like the Heart of the Sun.
Performanta lui interpretativă mă impresionează 👏❤️🌹
I was gonna say, sounds very "twentieth century", but we're now in the twenty first century. This is uncharted territory. I don't know what to call this!
Heard a bit of Satie, Schumann, and others, then cool some jazz thing : Keith Jarrett would have like hearing this, for sure ♥
Keep going Jean !;°)
J'ai adoré cette improvisation!!
Such beautiful hands 🙌

wolkowy1 He seems to be lost in his own world instead of being with the rest of humanity while playing. Very interesting experience
@@georgealderson4424 - What?

Compose, Monsieur. You have the skills. I await your first recording.
Qué fina su música. Lo admiro más aún:¡improvisando!
Insanely good
In the end it sounded like jazz. Very nice performance

Jean why don't you have any more video's here ? the last one was published 3 years ago? :)
Aha! It seems the gentleman is quite adept at Il sig. Cristofori's instrument! And I too hear the influence of Mr. Jarrett in his playing.
Jarrett, yes, quite possibly. And a touch of debussyst spice, maybe too.
Your touch is very different from a pianist, I really like it! it will be great that you come to Mexico. Greetings from there
HIs touch is very much of a GOOD pianist, such as Keith Jarrett (classical as well as jazz) or Juan Perez Floristan (classical but with very open ears)
Cembalist and Organist
Jean going Jazzy, hell why not !
I see people are hearing Keith Jarrett, and I am also hearing Mehldau.

I hear soulmate of Sibelius here, maybe cause I am a Finn. I like it very much.
I am not a Finn, and I see what you mean.
Some of this reminds me of Gabriel Dupont.
Très bon !

So dreamy... One silly question - how do you style your hair?
Simple, just roll out of bed. XD
Nope, you need to take a shower and agitate your bath towel on your hair
newmoon: is that you ,Boris?

Breath...
Loved it until it turned into a cocktail lounge piece right around 4:30. Then suddenly it sounded cheep.
It's not so bad, but yes a completely different style, I also feel that it doesn't go really together, a bit too different moods...
he's french
and obvi a Keith Jarrett lover
