Thanks for sharing Dan. I have been a marine electrician for 30 years, and have had to work on many things that were old and had no available schematics, back then, there was no internet to go to to try to find the info for the most part, and you had to just work it out the best way you could if you did not have a manual or print available. So you tended to be a bit rusty when you would get the more modern items that had drawings available. And your way of teaching has helped me greatly to polish up my schematic reading and making it quicker and more efficient. Please keep the videos coming, because the people your helping are not just green newbies to the electrical trade, you are also helping to teach some of the old dogs in the trade a few few new tricks as well. And we greatly appreciate it! 😊
ANYBODY needing simple speak education about seeming complex electrical systems will find daniel sullivan's video's remarkably helpful and educational. thank you very much mr. sullivan. the following is why... just bought an older rv. ran fine until alternator replace. 75 miles later a small pothole [
Wow. My mind literally just exploded. So much time focusing on the wrong things- chasing mechanical ghosts, and all because I couldn’t read a schematic. Thank you sir.
This information is gold, thank you. Absolutly amazing only 440 thumbs up. I have an old 416B in 'an emerging nation'. The harness has been by-past in places with wire I would expect to see run a telephone. Many connections are wires, of different colors, twisted together and tapes with crap electrical tape. It is an on going challange to bring it back to a robust reliable working condition.
Teach logic and function. wire color means nothing to me either I'm color blind to red green brown. I used to work on large concrete pumps and some manufacturers used all grey wires but were pretty good at numbering everything. Guys that were taught automotive mechanics were totally lost. One guy I was helping at a shop had been a mechanic for 35 plus years had no idea how a relay worked! I asked if he had ever took the cover of one? Bought him your FET book and LoadPro leads gave them too him on a Friday . He came back after the weekend and told me he had read the entire book twice. By midweek he was teaching other guys in the shop your methods. The key was the Spanish version of your book. Over the past 4 years during my travels to shops in CA, OR, WA, and NY I have given away at least 12 FET books and loadpro leads. Thanks for your hard work and persistence! Looking forward to more EPG videos.
Fabulous defense for Line Drawings. I will use this video whenever a student thinks that the time spent making a line drawing is wasted. Add test points for your multi-meter and the diagnosis is easy.
Why does a 297b have a replay behind the fuse box. I'm lost it says the 2 common wires come from left and right coil. Then goes go parking break. Idk I turn key on. And no power
Hi Dan, am i correct in assuming we can be expecting a Part 2 to this. Its always nice to see some heavy equipment stuff on youtube, not very much of it on here. Appreciate what you do, thanks.
Slow down, , very good explanation though on why you shouldn’t follow Wire color , In commercial Aircraft Boeing & Airbus use White wires 90-95% the rest are colored the white wires with very small printed numbers and letters. With B787 there are not enough colors in the spectrum, white is the standard.
Hi sir dan the problem of d6r lll the key is lost and they cannot start other key because of no sensor key reading...how to fix bypass the wire to start not use the key reader sensor...and open the signal of ecm
Thank you Dan. I hope you are doing well. Been a very long time since we talked or seen your videos. Question, at the 10:36 point of this video, you drew a connector numbered terminals 1 thru 9. I watched the video a few times and did not see what this connector was on the diagram. Just curious. Have a good day. Thank you for everything. Billy
Dan do schematics give you wire gauge? I notice you call out different wire sizes. Just wondering if I'm missing it or it don't exist. Thanks long time follower have your book and projects.
CAT - and some others - do. On this drawing it says "UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED ALL WIRE IS 16 AWG". 114GN is 16 AWG. 101RD14 is 14 AWG. 101RD4 is 4 AWG. RD00 is 00AWG. Many metric systems (DIN) will use 0.85 for 0.85mm.
Hello there have a 2006 th480b telehandler cat and if there's power to the relay but from the relay to the starter no power is there a straight wire going to the starter or goes to a switch or ecm?
@@bivideo7 good morning, as a matter of fact, is there any way we could do it like a one-on-one session/meeting? I don't mind driving depending on the State where you reside. I leave in New Jersey and it'll be an honor !!! Contact information (305) 401-0845

Great overview! Have to know what Normal is! Load, Ground and Power. Find them and draw the clean simple circuit.

It means something on the schematics of that particular machine. Remember not all Machines have multicoloured wires

Love your stuff Dan. I am an instructor for a Cat Dealer and I use similar methods to teach. Plus I’m a little bit of an arrogant SOB too!
Thanks for the info Dan and the quick response. You've always been quick to reply 👍👍
I wish all schematics were as well designed as Cat.
Some are even better than 🐈
Volvo is better.

Can we please get more cat schematic stuff please Dan
Thank you very much I really Appreciate you make new videos Again
Yep, i can confirm !! I went to Zimbabwe and found the key switch positive was indeed 105 😜
Told you...

hello sir, do you have a video of cat 299d3 ecu can h can L eb37 eb17 and pin 15 location? any help would be greatly appreciated
hi Dan, when is your next schematic seminar or webinar?
Need some help here. I'm out of work and want to charge $50 for a 3-hour online training session. Is that ok?
@@bivideo7 sure that will work for me.
@@bivideo7 specially European car schematics
@@bivideo7 please let me know how soon . Consider me as 3 students.

is it just me or the sound is not clear. I cant hear a thing.
😊 you sir
I had a teacher that’s said a good electricians are selectively color blind when need be..this must have been what he was talking about. Huh
Morning Sir can I have a copy like yours in pdf please
Copy of what, exactly?
Lauture Banoma
I am weak english.. is feed arabic langauge
Whole lot easier than a 2015 Honda Accord.
Read from bottom to top.
Très bonne , mais traduire en français serai bien aussi
