You really shouldn’t apply any lubricant to bolts before applying a torque spec unless directed to do so by the assembly manual. A dry torque (no lubricant) and a wet torque with lubricant will have a drastically different overall clamping force when set to the same torque setting on your tool. Due to less friction it is very easy to over tighten out of spec especially on smaller hardware. Torque test channel provides a very in depth video on this topic, definitely worth checking out. Your videos are great and I’m really enjoying the build series so far just thought I’d share that little tip for future projects 🤙🏼

Hi Guys, aside from being one the edge of my seat watching some of the antics, you are doing an awesome job helping the community. I'm a mechanical fitter machinist by trade currently looking for my second Porsche, I don't think I would attempt what you are achieving. You often talk about ensuring you lubricate before the initial start up of the engine, have you considered pre oiling the motor.....before installing fill with oil and use a battery drill to spin the motor with the cam cover off to ensure you have filled the oil galleries and bearings with oil before there is any firing up of the motor?

Zip ties around those rings on the camshaft helps save your fingers lol

Nice! Been waiting for this one. I think that last bolt was harder to torque because it's a valve cover bolt that only goes to 10Nm.

Suggest soaking the lifters in warm 0w oil overnight.
