- (Press Event - May 7, 2024) - Join Mayor John Whitmire, METRO Board Chair Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock, and community partners as the Authority breaks ground on a collaborative project to improve bus stops and repair pavement on a 6-mile stretch of Westheimer Road from Loop 610 to downtown. The project, part of METRO's BOOST 82 Westheimer improvements, will include repairing, paving and reconstructing all lanes, 50 new bus stops, new sidewalks, and new curb ramps. Is the street getting a dedicated bus lane?
Just minor sidewalk, curb, and bus shelter improvements, 82 is in dire need of a dedicated lane treament tho. Should've been a rail line a long time ago.

This man does not have the vision for dedicated bus lanes , commuter or light rail. Houston shall remain a big country town under his leadership.
