- Houston Mayor John Whitmire told KPRC 2 he is committed to having a skywalk built near Milby High School to provide students a safe pathway onto their campus.
These kids wont even use it. WASTE OF MONEY.
this isn’t about safety, it’s about $$$$$
6.5 million??? And how many kids are going to climb that thing up and down instead of just running across the tracks? So add a few million more for a fence? Or buy a bus and drive them safely across the road crossing there, and save MILLIONS! Just give the bus Wi-Fi and the kids will live in it.
Them kids wont use that. Ask me how i know.
How do you know? It doesn't seem like you graduated high school.
Because I see it first hand everyday i go to work.
@@danielmackenzie9601 well i got news for you bud if people have infrastructure built for them they will use it especially if a train is coming
@@sirclark4405 yet they don't
And where is our right of way when the train is stopped at an intersection for 5 hours?
How about instead of level crossing replace it with a vehicular/ pedestrian bridge. These trains are also clogging up the roads.
This is definitely a much better use of money than bike lanes that hardly anyone uses.
No kid is gonna walk up and down those stairs when they can just walk across the tracks. This is a liability issue only.
Just because you’re over weight doesn’t mean people don’t bike.
I'm with you 100%... and I bike 100+ miles a week every week. Most actual, regular cyclists in Houston HATE that retarded and pointless and expensive "road furniture" the city keeps installing in places where nobody actually bikes. It's infuriating.
@@jb3760 There's a train parked at 2:40. You gonna make kids climb between train cars to go to class?
Just fix the train timings or post more warnings.
What? Re orient the entire train route around the class schedule? You want to go talk to UP and ask them to do that?
What a waste of money!!!
Let’s go!
The city is shot?
What a waste of our tax dollars. 6.5 million gtfo that little bride maybe 800,000
Where did all the COVID money go!?!?!
What are you talking about
Cocaine and hook3rs
Look like the airline's, more not the only terminal's, more
Just make a small crossing the same as with cars. That's much simpler
Sea Port, more makes sense now
6.5 give me that money i will built something for less than that
Hopefully it's no price gouging, more also other's about that no bs
Army corps of engineers, more especially Customs district Port, more ain't no joke.... When it's really need it..... Because of all those year's, more for getting sanctions, also other's thing's for non compliance
A lot of people, more also other's.... Ain't never seen those... Terminal operator's, more about Port of Houston, more looking like that before
Incorrect market's, more ain't been no help smh at all.... Think about it
MAYOR WHITMIRE IS ON IT!💪🏾
> MAY GOD GRANT THE FAMILY STRENGTH.🙏🏾💙
>BUILD IT JUST LIKE THE SKYBRIDGE BILL BARAJAS IS STANDING ON.👍🏾
And people, more also other's.... Not paying attention why their saying or having.... Terminal operator's, more.... When it comes to those.....Price gouging, more also been incorrect about sanctions, more
I don’t agree tax payer money should go to that I believe Union Pacific should cover that if that’s the case. Children should not be walking along the train tracks. Especially in front of moving trains
Should come out of the school teachers pay instead
Good point. UP should probably have to pay for some of it.
@@danielmackenzie9601 Where'd you go to college?
Those railroad trks were there long before that school. The city or that district should have to pay for it. Raise the city taxes. Don't confuse college with being educated or successful.
@@danielmackenzie9601 Okay. You didn't. How much you make a year? You own a home?
Short😂
