"Meatloaf Monday", the best first contact strategy yet devised by man. Although it does necessitate the odd rescheduling to Salad Sunday when vegan races are involved.
Yeah isn't it? I found a lot of that AI channels and honestly I can't stand them. Not wasting my time on something created that didn't care for my time I rather give it to humans.
@CRYOKnox oh.. I have probably blocked close to 100 channels in the last month because of these boring generic AI stories. They're basically all the same with the slight different theme.
The engineers should have gone to lunch with the captain. They would no doubt want to talk to the human about the great mining machine they were impressed with.
I was taught to be polite and civil growing up. At the time, I was somewhat doubtful about its effectiveness because I was constantly tormented by other kids, even though I never did anything to instigate their torments. However, due to wishful thinking, I chose to try being polite and civil as an adult, as long as the other adults were also polite and civil. I learned over several decades that it does work and is very powerful. However, there are exceptions. It doesn't work well on kids, teens, and nasty adults. Fortunately, most adults prefer a polite and civil world, so they are willing to give and receive polite and civil behavior. 😊

I am still waiting for a story about the vegan meeting aliens. Who are sentient plants and absolutely horrified about you choosing to only eat plants if you could do otherwise.
Ahh what happened next that would have made a great follow up series the collaboration between the two species the wonders and cooperation that's what makes me happy to read the possible new heights of their new opportunities.
Good manners go a long way. And leave it to corporate interests to figure out how to do this all cost effective and efficient. They likely just made first contact with a mining conglomerate.

Well, yeah. By the times humans would be out in space, I imagine we'd have gotten most of our ancestors' imperial colonialism out of their system. Especially if we just have to wait for idiots to come wang swinging. No one can argue with one defending themselves from an aggressor. (Being a good person is less work.)
Unfortunately, there will always be those idiots that come along swinging and some WILL argue that you shouldn't defend yourself. IRL there are those that argue that and you should just call the police. Like that will do any good until they arrive and the perpetrators have left in the meantime.
@@merlinathrawes746 My opinion about those IRL who argue that you shouldn't defend yourself are naive at best, disingenuous at worst. Like this story, the miner defended himself and got a good haul of materials and technology. The aliens who watched got meatloaf and a potential for an alliance with humanity. The only ones who'd complain about self-defense here are likely the aliens of those lost during the harvesting.
I love the fact that the miner didn't immediately go full bore on them. I'm sure the captain and crew will have a lovely lunch.

If any previous HFYs are an indication, they are lucky it wasn't Taco Tuesday.
@@anathardayaldar maybe?
But if that ship was the Red Dwarf, and Lister wanted Vindaloo, then all bets are off. 🤣
One Space Engineer fan can always spot another... 👍
Ship printing and weaponized mining drills... some true SE logic there.
It never hurts to be polite. Sometimes, it keeps you from being hurt.
A very powerful reason to not only be polite, but to actively seek to be friends.
I actually just heard the story last night from a different source but it's very nice to actually hear a human voice read it.

I can't stand those AI narrators. The Squirrel here is the real deal - he even gets sick, from time to time! Nothing like the human touch. :D
ITA CHIEVED THE GOAL (despite the outcry from comments) but yey thank you for narrating a scribble :)
It's a good story. Many thanks for sharing it!
"Meatloaf Monday". Damn, now I'm hungry.

Great story you picked Agro!! I really appreciated and enjoyed it! WITH ENERGY!!

The entire crew is going onto the station for lunch😂
They'd be happier at lunch with the human mechanics and engineers.
Ah yes, Space Engineer kind of setup ring. Good tech, and yeah, good reason to be polite with them 😂
Thanks for reading ❤
Oh, yes. "Please" and "thank You" always go a LONG way!
It is so wonderful to hear stories that aren't all wipe out the nasty ones. Again a marvelous delivery.
Great story; Excellent narration! Universal rule #42 - always be polite and say thank you when engaging with Humans! LOL!!!
It's one of the many rules that control the universe. Just like Rule #34. 😉
Great story. Worthy of a like, a comment, and a few replies. 👍🏻👍🏻
LOL! As usual your narration adds great depth and color to the story. I have yet to see a FarmWhich4275 story that wasn't exceptional.
