Bluebell Railway - Remembering the S&D with 73082 & 34059 double heading.

Monday 7th October I attended a Jon Bowers photo charter on the Bluebell Railway recreating S&D scenes from the past. Double heading throughout the day was Standard 5 No 73082 (renumbered for the day as 73087 Linette, an S&D regular) and 34059 Sir Archibald Sinclair. Although I’m mainly an GW man, anything S&D from steam days does fascinate me and this combination which would have been a regular S&D working was something I had to do.
The charter was an excellent one with some good weather and fantastic run pasts throughout the day from the crews. Both the locos sounded great together and was a cracking charter for video. A big well done to Jon on running a fantastic, well organised charter and for my first visit to the Bluebell, I’ll be back for more.
