Thanks so much. I am planning to build my own Barton arcade cabinet. Some of the parts brought from eBay UK buy most ordered from eBay China since it was cheaper. Found 2 players, 20 buttons, the same kit you have but double the parts for £17.69, cheapest price. But I have to wait a few weeks, don't mind as it's a slow build. Just taking my time. Since British weather is horrible, will wait till the summer to build. cheers for the instructions.
+miek99 Ove actually got a new video tomorrow actually woring up a joystick with the same button set funnily enough. I bought an empty arcade stick shell and assembled it. Subscribe not to miss it lol. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it.
Thank you very much this video help me a lot I just have a question, if I configure my arcade joystick and I wanna go back to my regular control woulndt that mess my configuration? Because I did it with a PlayStation controller and a few days later all the commands were out of order (ex: start move to L2, select to X etc) so now in afraid that if I map my arcade joystick everything's goes out of order, thanks for your help
Hello, I just received in the same board set up with the same wires but my buttons have 4 connections. I'm sure two are for lights however the kit does not come in with wires for the lights. Any ideas what I can do? Do they sell 4 wire cables that will still fit this board or do I purchace wires for the lights? If so how would I power them? Any help would be great.
I got my arcade controls from aliexpress. They work perfectly with the Windows 10 test program but not with the retro pie. I cant map them correctly with the input controls part of the retropie set up. I have seen they register as Dragon Inc ...I was thinking of editing the text file directly to map the buttons correctly...anyone else run into this problem??
Sorry, this is probably an obvious question, but I'm new to the whole rb pi thing and haven't bought 1 yet. But, how does this connect to the pi, is it through the usb?
I have this exact kit x2 in an arcade cab I'm building. They work great in emulation station but when you go into a game it gets all wonky. I'm interested to see if you have the same issue.
I am currently in the process of making a "Budget" Arcade machine, and am wanting to recreate a Pac-Man machine, which uses a Red joystick, and 2 white buttons. (though, I would need a few black buttons as well, as I plan to have hidden exit and menu buttons on the back or top). Any ideas? I can only find kits where all buttons and joystick are the same. :(
sir can you please share the name of the games you used in your computer?...... one thing more, if i press the 2 buttons at the same time, will they also light in the monitor at the same time?
My encoders passed this test but raspberry pi won’t recognize them when I plug them in. I know my ibuffalo controller works when plugged in so it isn’t the USB ports.
cant beat proper arcade sticks, most of the console joysticks, don't use micro switches, so thy don't feel right. i am stinking of making a raspberry pi arcade stick, with retro pi installed. Great video mate :o)
Can anyone give me some help I built a arcade machine and used this product for the controls I can't do anything 2 player because whenever I configure the input to one of the controls it reverses the other control and when I start certain games all my controls become messed up like the a button will take the place of the start button
so this literally just uses USB no soldering or anything just a USB connection and thing configuration? Because I would like to use this on my Raspberry Pi but would not necessarily like to have to solder anything
Found a front end for android called romflix.. Trying to get this style of button setup usable, but can only seem to get keyboard and mouse working.. I don't have any Bluetooth controllers going either. Only connected by USB via a hub. In the settings menu, under system and inputs, there's no option for me to use a zero delay board.. However under kodi repositories, in the repository section, you can install other controller options such as PlayStation etc. Any ideas for these types of controllers? Really would like my arcade desk running :) and no I don't hold you personally responsible. Just saying, with your help, it might happen.
So do you notice any lag with these USB encoders??? How's fighting game inputs?? Like, throwing a fireball in street fighter...dose it come off easy?? I bought 4 of these encoders and haven't had a chance to do anything with them yet. My plan is a 4player arcade cab. These should be seen as 4 generic USB controller.
Retro Tech 100: that's great to hear🤘🏽. How many have you had connected at one time? Just wondering if they are easy to assign to whatever player you want....
Retro Tech 100 my computer...this is actually a 2 player arcade stick with built in games so i use hdmi and a cellphone charger and just connect to tv...the 2nd player's joystick is fine but the 1st player isn't...i'm trying to open the arcade now..just really hard to get into it
It might me a nice try of a real arcade feel, but it won't bring you close. Can't even buy a decent stick alone for the price of the whole kit. Save yourself 100 bucks and get good stuff straight away.

If you need any help just let me know.
awesome. I ordered one one these. plan to make an arcade machine. Can't wait!
On Recalbox, you can wire everything directly to the pi header pins, is that not the case here?
I made this video years ago and was just staring to dabble with this
Thanks for the video. i ordered the same joystick and buttons but didnt know how to wire it up.

great vid thanks! is it straight forward setup in retropie for emulation station as i think you can only map control pads on not arcade?
Great video. Can't wait to try it. You did a great job it's very easy to follow. Thanks.
Thanks Dave
I just ordered mine. I think I am going to make a mini arcarde stick like the one you showed with the xbox. Thanks for the idea
But did you use my afiliate link James? lol

Same problem here. Still looking for a fix.
i have the same problem - works in the PC but not on retro pie
cool vid man, been thinking about making a budget arcade stick for my pi
Its a pretty good set for the price.
cant wait to see how your project turns out man :)
Sorry, this is probably an obvious question, but I'm new to the whole rb pi thing and haven't bought 1 yet. But, how does this connect to the pi, is it through the usb?
Yes straight to usb.
@@RetroTech100 thank you mate
@@jaypalmer0616 No worries. They are really straight forward. Youll see if you get some.
@@RetroTech100 yeah, I'm making my own arcade cabinet esc thing and your vid really helped, so thanks, if I need any help can I give you a shout? 😂

+Sara Thomas No mine works fine. Why not reset the controller config. That may help.
thanks from italy
Will this work in Android device with OTG?
please let me know I've been searching alot to get the answer.
Thanks

Does the joystick have analog mode?
I think you would need a board specifically to do analogue inputs.
that joystick is analogic or octogonal?and i can use for ps3 or ps4?
+Guilherme Candido Its digital and I built it for Retropie but I can try it on a PS3 for you.
is there a manner of doing this with only gpio? @retro tech 100
I ordered a two pack of usb led arcade joysticks from Amazon. Player one set up fine but player two is sets up backwards.
Do you have one or 2 controller boards?
Does this work on Latest consoles like the PS4?😅Or PC?😅
It would work on PC but i dont know if it will work on the PS4.
@@RetroTech100 Thanks I've been wondering for a while

Where did you buy it?
Amazon. There is a link in the description. You can also buy them on eBay.

Absolutely no soldering. Sub and it's very easy.

I haven't noticed any lags whatsoever and they work great with fighters.

I've had 2 connected to my raspberry pi plus an xbox 360 arcade stick hooked up at once with no problems.
Retro Tech 100 that's awesome man. I just hope Windows reacts the same way as the Linux Raspberry Pi LOL. Thank you.

Hi. i got this kit. how do i tell which color wire is ground. Mine are blue and white. thanks for any help.
will it work with retropie
doctorstork Yes it works very well with Retropie, I've tested it myself.
does it have to be plugged in a specific order? because sometimes the config gets messed up when i use the arcade

What are the dimensions of this joystick?
Dennys Rodrigues Its just the parts to build one so I dont know.
