13:50 “why are my sons such disappointments?”. I really wonder, how my great kings and queens said that to themselves? Looking across the dinner table at their heir who should be nowhere near any form of power.
I played a Maurya game in vanilla and that is pretty much the experience. As soon as Chandragupta dies the whole country looks at his son like “well it was good while it lasted” and you go into a national decline.
hey laith imperator rome actually got a media report in germany as a popular game today even though the devs gave up on it years ago. i think you deserve a lot of credit for that.
Try doing direct (with Macedonia) or reverse Alexander then... These are runs that keep you busy for hundreds of years, more so even than trying Rome world conquest
Achaeminid Kingdom vs Persian Kingdom. This game is strange when the Seluicids die, like it just changes to Persian Empire or Kingdom from what I've seen? seems weird. Also I swear I alwasys see parthia just eat the steppes. This game does not shy away from bordergore and weird naming senses...
All of the successor states named after dynasties change to [Region] Kingdom/Empire when that dynasty is no longer in charge. In base game it can only happen to the Antigonids and Seleucids, but in Imperator: Invictus it can also happen to the Ptolemys.
I suppose it makes sense. The Seleukids during their time were known as Kings of Asia or Kings of Syria, so having a generic name when the Seleukid dynasty dies out works I think
Ive been playing a heraclea pontica game recently, just formed the Achaemenid Empire. Probably one of the coolest mission trees and game starts I've tried so far, great to see such a big youtuber sharing the experience with so many people! Would love to see a part 2 and see where you go with it! Also for any Sabaton fans, the Leontophorus mission quotes Dreadnought when you complete it which is pretty fitting
This will be exciting! Saw another video of this game start and the dude had a quick historical rundown. Apparently the brothers decided to drown their mother in real life which is pretty fucked lol
Imperator making a comeback isn't something i was expecting for the year, but I'm glad you've been able to at least attempt it. I look forward to the next video on this campaign.
Cool campaign, I didnt even know they still existed. That will be interesting. And just a short info, the Achaemenids were the ones that lost their empire due to Alexander. So they hate him alot, and dont revere him like other successor states. Hope you do the rest of this cool mission tree. Sadly Bucephalus is Alexanders horse and wont be happy about that. 😔
Future Invictus build recommendation I found utterly hilarious- play as Nepal, go the Republic mission route, plan for frequent elections, levies, tax meta, and Oligarchic focus. Use the Poison Pill League mechanics to get as many Buddhist nations as you have the patience for (they're a secret tool that will help you later). Go all-in on forts- earthworks, fort defence techs, the lot- and build quite frankly unreasonable levels of forts. Oligarchs give build cost reductions when in power, traditionalists give fantastic faction events (e.g you can go into influence debt for a province investment with no monetary cost for stacking them), and frequent elections let you rotate rulers until you get a high-military leader for your levies. The gist of the build goes something like this- -You have many, many tools to stack fort defence and attrition. Your culture also goes incredibly hard on the elephants. This means you can levy massive numbers of elephants at very little cost, and use them to smack down your enemies when they stay on your forts for too long. (Would likely work even better with a heavy-cavalry culture, since they have both power and speed to rescue forts.) The low cost of levies also means that high fort maintenance and high army maintenance isn't really an issue, since you're not paying for constant legion upkeep or pricey mercenaries (outside of an emergency for the latter anyway) so you can easily afford to use both when you're planning to go to war with a larger power. -Forts are very useful for Defensive wars, since if they don't take your forts you've got good odds of making it through the war (and you can assault your own forts once you've attacked or scared off your foe with your elephantry if needs be). However, they're also very useful for Supremacy wars, which you can declare even with a claim war, since powerful forts tend to spread the enemy into easily-defeatable chunks. -Capital levies, if you siege a city with them, get the looting event. Maurya has a quite frankly unreasonable number of poorly-defended high-population cities. Combined with levies' capacity to field mass elephant armies at negligible cost, Indian Tribe traditions to make your forts and elephants even stronger, and the fact Maurya is liable to collapse by the time you've set up a strong Republican capital levy that can guarantee looting events that can give you a good two-hundred gold from a single city with 'None Shall Hide!', as well as the slaves... Well. I think you can see the direction this is headed.
I never realized that there was a real place named Amestris. I knew that the Full Metal Alchemist Author was using faux state names, but I thought that one at least was original. Edit: After watching more, I realize the spelling is not quite the same and that it looks to be named after the lady you started as. My mistake. Still interesting that the name is so close.
I know you already made a tutorial for Imperator, but maybe make a part 2 or something going over step by step what you do at the start? I tried Imperator until all my states were disloyal and I couldn't figure out why, it wasn't covered by the tutorial and I don't see you having this issue with disloyalty?
Lad its one in the morning Also my leg is dead fuck And i just fell and did something to my ankle fuck me Edit 3 my ankle is properly fucked how tf am i supposed to walk like this Edit 4 i made out of the bathroom. If it hurts to put pressure on my ankle or to move it it's sprained yea?
I did a campaign where i played as kybiratia (a small anatolian minor) and i legit had the coolest campaign ever, takingnadvantage of the diadochi wars to take land from the antignoids, fight off macedonia, the ptolemaics and parthia until i created a glorious, anatolian persian empire
Laith, I dont know if you'll see this, seeing as most youtubers dont go trough their commend section, but can you do a run as Cyrenaica? I've tried it, and it is too hard for me, too mutch of a challenge. Can you please do a run so I can see how you're doing it?
Laith Fire Emblem is on a much smaller scale, but just as fun and entertaining. You should definitely play Fire Emblem Laith, and Laith, you should play Tropico 6 Laith, it's a fun game Laith
Id like to talk about the thumbnail, the left half, fine, makes sense, no complaints.now the right half, 1440 ducats for the size empire shown in tbe thubnail, is not impressive, 10x that would be aight.and then theres the stability, now that is impressive, not only becausr in my 1k hours of imperator have i ever achived 100 stanility but also because in the thumbnail it indicates that your stability is even growing at 100. Thank you for lisenting to my ted talk

Funnily enough, real-life Amastris was murdered by her two sons. Disappointments indeed.

hey laith imperator rome actually got a media report in germany as a popular game today even though the devs gave up on it years ago. i think you deserve a lot of credit for that.
There is a Zoroastrian deity that converts 5 pops to Persian every time you click it. Very helpful early game to get more Persians.
Considering Amastris' sons historically killed her, maybe all the trouble they gave you was the best case scenario
My run as Heraklea Pontica was both the greatest and worst games of imperator i ever had. Painful and satisfying
It do be like that my Gaul run was fun but just a pain in the arse to form and now I’m just teching up with only 100 years left game time
Try doing direct (with Macedonia) or reverse Alexander then... These are runs that keep you busy for hundreds of years, more so even than trying Rome world conquest
Ooo! One of my favourite campaigns! It's a tough start, lets see how you go
Hell yeah, i was wondering when you will take on that campaign since it's hella interesting and not that easy, hoping for more episodes!
You gotta do this with Tarkus’ Achaemenid legend mod in CK3. Amastris is literally one of the main characters in the legends
Achaeminid Kingdom vs Persian Kingdom.

Surprised to see Scythia doing so well - never really seen that during my campaigns. Would love a part 2.
Scythia does well in 90% of my games

I always either play Epeirus or Heraclea Pontica there is no inbetween
I'd like to add that it would be kinda' fitting to restour Alexander's empire with Pyrrhus of Epirus.
You have to finish this campaign man
