im shaking..... The spartans couldn't even OIL UP like they used to. Thank god Laith restored the old practices of OILING UP.
2) cover yourself in oil
@@thalesvondasos type shit
Hmmm 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵
I'm OILING UP right now as I watch this
Great to see you enjoying the Invictus mod, Sparta is a vanilla mission tree only mildly tweaked by us. I believe from one of the DLC's.
We did add the dual monarchy system.
Are the celts/norsemen any fun nowadays? Love what yall have done with the major players
@@derekskelton4187We have a map on the workshop showing all countries with missions.
@@derekskelton4187I played Boihaemia, they have quite the interesting missions, with a lot of space to colonise, quite close to Rome and Greeks, but not too much.
snowlet the goat
Are you going to do a bigger more modified tree in the future by any chance? :)
Just a few general tips: You were making so little in the early game because you had so many forts, they have high upkeep. When you totally conquer a nation you can choose to imprison their leaders and then make money off of selling them to slavery, which is a big financial boost early game. Loving the Imperator attention recently!
That's a good tip. Damn carthage was rocking me with thier navy playing as rome in the early game. But it was fun and historical
I've never bought a comment or whatever, and it's not even much, but I'd really enjoy another Sparta video. You got me to play Imperator Rome (with Invictus mod) and have enjoyed it more than any other Paradox game! Cheers! I think it would be cool to see a diminished/ conquered Rome, or Spartan "Byzantium" borders, or a Leonidas's Revenge goal, taking out "Persia" which doesn't really exist in the same facet but, make it like restoring Alexander's borders? Anyway, thanks again!
I appreciate the support mate! I’m definitely tempted to make a sequel!
@@TheSocialStreamers As a general tip, you can see the fleet size of a country in their diplomacy window. It's just above the Diplomatic Actions menu, underneath the number of military innovations they have. You don't get to know their naval composition, but you do get to know their overall numbers.
Theres an achievemnt to sack parsa the capital of persia so that could be a goal
Your enthusiasm almost makes me want to give Imperator another try
DEW IT!
i played recently. really fun!
Its a great game ! Add terra indomita mod which includes the invictus mod and its even better
@@gregc6535and the commander kings mod if you have a military talented ruler and want him to lead your legion
You ain't fooling anyone Imperator devs¹🙄
Zlewikk (put it online a few hours ago) and Alton (some days ago) are playing Spartans too rn. But your campaign is way better (I really liked that you conquered Crete) and far more interesting - the early expansion, the fights against Macedonia and Rome, just great to watch. I would love to see a second part. Your video really motivates me to start Imperator: Rome myself.
I just did recently. Now I'm 50 hours in. I love it
Btw if you’re wondering where ‘The Besieger’ nickname comes from its a translation of the title ‘Poliorcetes’ given to Demetrios Antigonid(in game he is the heir to the Antigonid kingdom at game start) given to him based on his many innovative siege weapons in his ultimately unsuccesful siege of Rhodes, among these weapons was a 55m long battering ram operated by 1000 men and a 38m tall Siege tower named Helepolis(Taker of Cities), all of these siege weapons were inevitably abandoned when the siege failed and the masses of bronze used in their construction taken by the Rhodians and used to create the famous ‘Colossus’ of Rhodes.
Honestly aside from the nickname Demetrius is probably one of the less capable Diadochi with a mostly unsuccessful military record and a bad reputation due to being a horrendous pervert, famously including an attempt to ‘court’ a young boy that ultimately resulted in the boy killing himself by jumping in a cauldron of hot water in a bath-house to escape Demetrius.
This man’s dedication to bringing back imperator is INSANE!
Are you aware of fort infrastructure capacity? Each province by default has 5, each level 1 fort adds 3 and upgrading those forts adds an extra 1 per level. Going above it increases maintenance cost by a lot. That's why you were bleeding so much money after taking Argos, the province was at 16/5 before destroying the forts. After it was still at 9/5 since you had three forts in the province
He had figured it out himself.
Plus taking over AI territory adds tons of forts that drain your money. I always have to break some down after a big conquest
That Spartan mission tree is in the base game
Siege engineers +1 is a good tech to get. It's like giving one siege pip to all your sieges. You get 3 in total in the middle tree in military, and 1 in the rightmost tree.
A bit late, but any culture you dont plan to integrate it's a good idea to use the setup colony decision. It settles some of your core pops in one of their pop centers and increases assimilation there, creating a pop center that's just more loyal in recently conquered provinces alongside increasing levies.
Imperator Rome grindset keeps on going. Acta, non verba.
Hi Laith. Thanks for trying to bring back Imperator. I never stopped playing, I have 2000 hours in the game and I almost have all the achievements (yeah, I am lazy with partial world conquests). I completed my first Pax Aeterna in 2021 as Rome, with no weird shenanigans, pure pain. My usual start as Sparta is to conquer Crete and then the Peloponnese. Today I tried attacking Messenia first and it works 😂
It's crazy that this game has actually ended up being good
I LOVE PLAYIN SPARTA! The hug box is real but is beatable! THIS IS SPARTA!!!
THIS IS SPARTA!
Joke aside, that was pretty impressive with their space marine units, you could just bat them away like flies. Funny playthrough, please do more of you want! 😊
Here is some funni for you:
Laith:"We dont need those forts, my navy will protect me"
Also Laith:"I wish I had more forts, sad really" 😑
Importing Camels is a good idea too, each Camel resource provides a stacking commerce tax bonus.
I like how Laith moved pops from Megalopolis and then said "they kind of drained out of there"
A small tip: you can check how many ships a nation has by right-clicking them and opening the diplomatic view.
Every time I see or hear Arkadian, I just remember that once scene from 300. "Spartans, what is your profession?!" then "See old friend, I brought more soldiers than you."
Words said by laith,"Everyone is going to hate us but it's worth it"
You GOTTA continue this. This video slap like nothing else
Damn, I was actually really entertained with this game. Pls continue!
Great game! I recommend Delmatia, best mission tree I've found. Start with the generic unification of the provence then jump down the mission triee. challenging for sure.
You should continue, and form the second peloponessian league through the mission tree, it has one of the greatest flags I ever seen lol
You're getting me so close to try out Imperator Rome man! Would love to see more if this run 😃
How many imperator videos are you going to make? Yes
Damn, thats much better than my last attempt at a Spartan resurgence, guess I'll need to give it another go soon
I always put quite the priority on fruits, character loyalty bonus is hard to come by
big tip the queued events like bountiful harvest are op and dont show up and they are timed its on screen at 24:09
Please do the second part of this run, looks so much fun, I started playing the game myself again
Atreus, It is time to return to our homeland.Get the oil boy
As a greek it is very wise to get as many feudatories as possible, as they don't take up a diplo slot and they all give you at least 2k troops every war.
Fun Fact: the symbol the Spartans bore on their shields was a massive L, which is the source of Laith's affinity with their culture.
Lmfao
@@azlanadil3646 Thank you. I think I should have opened the joke by explaining that the lambda is the Greek letter L, since no one else seems to have gotten it.
We NEED part 2!
I'm glad I got this game when it was on sale on GoG, and basically avoided all the bad that it was when it first came out. I'm having a blast with it tbh. The only part that sucks is Rome steamrolling everyone.
you know you can spawn your levies in greece in any of the greece provinces (crete included). in your levies tab, up on the right hand side, there is an icon with a hand holding a spear. by clicking on that you can choose where to spawn them
Fun fact the second event says melon lave which is what leonedas said to the persians, it translates to come and get it (roughly)
Pay attention to how many forts you have per province, you have a kind of force limit that makes them much more expensive if you go over it. On the settlement/city page, click on the spears and it should have it listed in the bottom right. Each fort in a province uses 3, but increasing a fort level only increases it by 1, and the base cap is 5. Military traditions and provincial investments can increase it, but until you do it's a good rule of thumb to just delete all but 1 fort in each province.
I love these IR videos, you should do more
your hair looks actually good for the first time ever, congrats!
I took 200 gold recruit mercenaries from Greece (theres a dude with 13 military that has about 6k troops close to Athens) with mercs and my initial levy I conquered entire defensive league without any trouble.
We want a second part! Lets see Sparta control the seas and the land
1:41 No, the baby is the successor. Sparta was traditionally a diarchy - one for civil matters, one for military matters.
I don't like imperator a lot but I had to watch a Sparta game, ended up enjoying it!
Please continue the sparta world conquest + the revival of imperator rome! :)
Laith i was the kid that just wasted ur time by sending you a big zoro persia screen shot
:) have a nice sleep 12:31 am
"Another successful victory there." -Laith, 2024
u should try heraclea pontica. im not gonna spoil anything its really fun!
Love it, more Sparta please Laith!
you should do a gordyene run and make the hurrian religion its pretty challenging and rewarding
You better continue this campaign this is not me asking for a favor this is me telling you to do this.
for the future if you never found out, get country info you can see what mil tech they are and how many ships
Banger video, waiting for part 2
The phalanx tradition gave you a custom tactic which is better for your army comp then the generic bottleneck. Also switching tactics to counter the enemy does not seem worth it most of the time if you are going from one with high efficiency for your your comp to low.
Just wanna say Laith, please never stop with these thumbnails
Please continue this campaign!
I'll be very glad if you make another video of Sparta
You need to follow this up with a video restoring Hellenism in CK3. The Maniots were still pagan until the 9th century in Laconia.
THIS! IS! SPARTA! (Literally)
continue please, this game is so great
Loved the spartans oiling up ❤
50:53 sparta in a nutshell xD
Guys, you have to hear what Laith says at 28:17. I can't believe he thinks Coolsville sucks!
13:28 Nice that you keep the farts in your recording :p
Very great I subscribe just so I can maybe see another episode
The Cretins at Sparta!
I mean the Spartans at Crete!
Ah the civilization that never even called the name we use for them
If this video gets 5,000 likes, Laith will make a Part 2 and be shirtless like a true Spartan.
@Laith could you do a Terra Indomitus run as the Majapahit?
Don’t need to switch to beliicose until you’re gonna peace out of the first war. Then you can get ur third idea and get the bonuses
I'd love to see Athens next
You should oil up for the next episode, like a true spartan!
Please continue this game!
Such cool playthrough.
Yeppers Sparta becomes and Empire!
I am only like 15 mins in but will Laith ever realise that having so many forts in one province is why his total income is so low?
What version is this? Because when I play as Sparta the third idea is not religious, it is oratory.
too many forts per province is hella expensive. best to get rid of excess
Did you mean an exclamation mark instead of a question mark, Laith!
always like seeing more imperator rome
Fun Fact: In the real world Sparta would ally itself with Judaea meaning there was a Spartan-Jewish alliance. It sounds so cursed.
Like your streams. Is this with mods?
Can you form Pirate Illyria from Abri?
I guess you might need Invictus though.
What mods are you using? I do like this game but it is missing lots in diplomacy and peace deals, wish I can grab cash 😂
pls continue this campaign
next play as athens, achieving not only military supremacy but cultural and economic.
Part two plz!
WE NEED MORE IMPERATORRRRRRR
Play as Athens next ☺️
How do stack wipes work?
with declining that 2000 manpower for taras, you lost out on a pretty free vassal
please continue i like oiled up men
Please make a part 2
Laith - TheSocialStreamers oiled up when?
I played vanilla and I just finished my 2nd run of Invictus.
Vanilla...
You need to get greasy when playing sparta.
Imperator will not die we will bring it back!
continue this!
