Listening to this now and judging a player on whether he’s had a ‘big moment’ like scoring in a final is the most ridiculous thing to me. An iconic moment makes you a hero, an icon etc but it doesn’t make you any better of a player. De Bruyne has had multiple huge moments in league campaigns with big goals and assists to carry his team to wins which ultimately led to them winning titles. The ‘big moment/big game’ thing is rubbish. Ps. Harry Styles was phenomenal
People class stat padding Vs bad spurs arsenal and Man Utd teams as performing in big games but when you look at those teams at That point they’re pure crap
So being a big game player doesn't matter? Big moments in big matches is literally turning up when it matters. Scoring 5 Vs Leipzig means far less than a goal in a 1-0 finale.
Yeah but playing exceptionally well in the biggest games i.e being a "big game player" and rising to the biggest occasions does add to your resume as a player.
Suarez 31 goals and 17 assists, no penalties, was the only world class player in his team and he was dribbling past players and creating for others whilst scoring some of the best goals I’ve ever seen. His season is CLEAR
@@debayanpal3181 I agree to a certain extent. More goals definitely means better goal scorer and could mean player. But in this case you simply can't say haaland is a better overall player than suarez at any attribute other than finishing
They said it was important but it’s not memorable, unless you’re a die hard kdb fan or a city fan you ain’t going to remember the details of that goal 10 years from now, unlike iniesta World Cup final goal or zidane’s final goal against leverkusen 🙄 it’s not that hard to understand, there’s nothing wrong with admitting a goal isn’t as memorable but is important

Exactly, I don't know what more kdb has to do to be considered among the other elites he's literally won it all and been instrumental and the best player in a city team that's dominated the past 5 years, hopefully by the time he retires he'll get the respect he deserves
KDB is an elite midfielder, the way they disrespected him like that pisses me off, for me he is a top 10 mid-fielder of all time and yes he had multiple big moments if that what defines greatness from your point of view, I can name a lot like scoring against Brazil in the world cup quarter final and in this season he had many big moments as well, that rocket he fired in the UCL semi-final at the Bernabéu, by the time he stops playing we can all acknowledge how special he was. A legend of the game
Definitely top 10! For me he deserves the ballon d’or this year and for sure Haaland or Messi will get it but de standards we put on KDB are just so high and so insane that some people will never see and admid how great he is/was
The same person saying KDB is not a big game player is the same person saying Suarez I the greatest striker of all time btw. Everyone knows that Suarez's record in the CL isn't the greatest but I think we could all say that he's one of the greatest strikers of all time, but with KDB he'll never be in table 1 solely because of the fact that he's not a big game player (even tho he's a better big game player than Suarez). Hypocrisy at its best
The hate is real. KDB is easily in the room and in terms of stats and skills he surpasses every nostalgic midfielders they have in mind. It’s all jealousy envy and hate
This is the most anti-City line up on the pod I swear 😂 KDB “nowhere near” table 1 and no memorable moments, despite scoring and assisting crucial goals in games against Arsenal, Bayern, Real Madrid, Man United, Liverpool, Newcastle etc. (btw no-one seems to remember HE ASSISTED the Gundo goal vs Aston Villa last season to win us the league). Haaland scored 36 goals in “38 games” so Suarez = better, when in fact he only played 35 games and played the equivalent of 31 full 90s. That Stones take is stupid though lol
Its boring whens sharky gonna realise if he wants this show to be taken seriously in football asepct as well as bants they gotta be unbias or change personnel
Suarez literally scored more non penalty goals than Haaland. Haaland scored 29 non pen goals in 35 games. So Suarez scored more actual goals in less games in a much worse team and was much more well rounded
@@mattroberts8583penalties are part of the game so to just rule em out means you should rule out free kick goals or a corner kick goal cause they’re not ‘actual’ goals in your definition
I absolutely love the hypocrisy when it comes to Man City. I’ve heard countless people say this is the best english side of all time.. then i hear people say Haaland is only good because of kdb, then people say kdb isn’t one of the best even in JUST the prem. How do you have the best team of all time in the prem, then be the most important player and apparently the soul reason they’re successful… and not be the best prem player. So crazy
And the annoying part is that both things can be true! Haaland needed KDB so he could have a the best campaign of all-time. And btw, KDB 100% is within that table as you could already argue that his peak is higher than the likes of Scholes.

Chelsea finished 12th, Spurs finished 8th and Liverpool had their worst season under Klopp. That shouldn't be a metric to judge who had a better season. Suarez did in fact score against 2 of the big 6 (United and Spurs). Not only did he miss 7 games, he also didn't take a single penalty that season since Gerrard took all of them. It’s not City’s fault that the rest or Europe is shit but end of the day, it does help. The 99 treble was more exciting bc of the difficulty and it was more memorable, some will even say that UCL final is the best final ever bc of how unlikely it was for Utd to win in such a way I don’t base it off who would win in a match or accross a 38 game tournament because it’s 2 different eras with very differenr demands for positions (GK, Fullbacks, Wingers etc.). The City hatred is genuinely horrendous here. KDB will go down as the greatest prem midfielder of all time which puts him onto table 1 automatically. Fayz defos has sticky Madrid tops at home- unbelievably biased. Washed takes from him as usual
Love this podcast! Ball knowledge to banter to beautiful friendships
Ball knowledge 🤣🤣
I'm not even trying to hate on these guys.. I feel most of us watch for the causal football chat... CASUAL being the key word. If I'm doing a football quiz down the pub, I'm not sure these donnie's would be my first picks
Man facial struggled in that Fede debate😂
nah saying facial will never not be funny 😂
That Mourinho Pep debate was so frustrating to listen to. When talking about pep's time at Bayern they said it was a failure because he didn't win the CL, yet when talking about Mou at Real they kept making excuses for him not winning. Oh but Mou built a foundation at Real!! Like Pep didn't do that at Bayern, Barca and will at City? That Real foundation was built on buying super duper stars and Balon D'or winners, btw. Not really a groundbreaking achievement given he won only one league title.
Maybe football isn't just about winning one of games and the CL? All football fans do is talk about all the things Mou did do and Pep didn't do.
Why does no one ever mentions Mou got the sack 5 times in his career? that is absurdly high.
Why is Mou such a great man manager when there are so many instances where the team ended up despising him?
How come Mou left Chelsea bottom half of the table with a very very good squad?
Why is this Roma side poor in the Serie A?
I think Mou is quality btw. Top 3 managers of my lifetime unquestionably. Just don't like the emphasis on how great he is without giving him the same treatment Pep gets.
When he’s done, De bruyne will kick modric off table 1 and make him go eat by the bins
14:31 U see how Facial went silent when something decent about KDB was mentioned Lord help this guy
Ilyas was cooking Faysal in the Pep v. Jose segment. Jose has had world-class players, billionaire owners to help him construct his ideal teams, and has managed some of, if not the biggest clubs (United and Real Madrid) in the world. The fact that he hasn’t achieved the same of amount of success as Pep with similar resources to do so speaks volumes and proves why Pep is so clear of him.
The Barcelona vs City comparison was so weird , the question was about that specific team and year not about every player carrer....
why does faysal hates city that much , chill
Faysal acts like Modric dragged Luxemburg to the WC Finals, Croatia have some incredible players.
Sharky working part time love to see it
Did they just say KDB doesn't belong on the same table.... or am l bugging😮outrageous take
Yes Faysul said he doesn’t even belong in the table. What does that even mean

Horrible take on the city utd treble. Dominating makes is more impressive - adversity is good for the story but city never even let it get to that . Those united comebacks may have meant their season was less “bland”, but they weren’t as good, simple.
Pep is a better coach, a better tactician, man management is up for debate but Pep’s CV will only get bigger. Mourinho is done. He’s one of the best ever of course, but Guardiola is and will always be better.
I can understand why haalands season could be better then suarezs due to the record and amount of hatricks he scored, however the goals suarez was scoring in the fashion he was scoring them in half way line, volleys and in the box. Also he missed like 10 games and still scored like 30
Kdbgoal vs Bayern 4-1 Wolfsburg win is legendary
thing with modric and croatia is whenever croatia fails its the teams fault but whenever belgium fails its de bruyne's fault
Because hes shit for belgium
Croatia have barely failed to Belgium's level.
@@AK-bj6fk Belgium came 3rd in the same World Cup Croatia came 2nd, and swear if Belgium were up against England and Croatia had France, things would have been different. KDB carried Belgium to a 3rd place with performances against Brazil QF and even France Semi.
@@AshirwadSarmah How did KDB carry that Belgium side? Arguably Hazard played better that WC? Also just because you have a different draw means nothing. Croatia were finalists and Belgium weren’t. What happened in 2022 and why did you leave that out?
@@AshirwadSarmah lol kdb carried when they had a beast hazard ??a huge courtois against brasil ? that amazing defense that belgium had ? u can t compare that croatia team to thatbelgium team
The KDB hate is unreal. He’s already prems greatest ever midfielder and he hasn’t even retired yet.
Faysal always doing the most to discredit prem players it’s crazy😂😂
Tottenham have verbally agreed an initial £17.2m deal with Empoli to sign goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario
So his assist in the final game against Aston Villa to claim the title isn’t a big moment?? You can pick and choose how you define midfielders but basing it on having an iconic moment or goal is goofy.
Especially when Modric doesn’t have a moment like that either but they swear he’s at that table
@@Sproles11 True, even as a Modric guy, his biggest moment might be idk that goal against Argentina or his winning penalty vs Denmark which wasn't even in a game.
@@saiyerugara9038 exactly. And I think it’s dumb to take away from a player just because they don’t have one “moment.” Especially for players like Modric whose impact isn’t about goals and assists.
The amount of disrespect being put on KDBs name id unreal, first Adam mckola madickhead, now faysal, and if you genuinely go back a few eps, im surw faysal said he chose kdb over gerrard not too long ago, these guys change opinions like snap, normally a fan but today pissed me off

If Fays said “who would you rather play at LB? Nacho? Alaba? Rudiger? Mendy was injured post WC. Or a guy who proved he can play LB at a very high level in the biggest stage? It’s not that he’s not good enough to play at his favourite positon every game. It’s that nobody else can play LB like Camavinga in that team especially when you already have a stacked midfield”.
That would’ve been much better than just blaming Carlo
Stop it man. Camavinga hasn’t played midfield since he was 16 at Rennes. There’s a reason for that. He really isn’t as good as people that watch RUclips Laliga highlights would have you believe

"suarez was banned for 5 games that season" firstly thats his own fault, secondly haaland only had 2 more appearamces than suarez, thirdly suarez actually played more minutes than haaland, dont get me wrong i rate suarez extremely highky but as a striker haalands been a revelation this season and put up absurd numbers weve never seen in the prem

Halaand needs feeding Suarez made his own chances..he's clear of halaand.
Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Espanyol for the season-long loan of forward Joselu, with an option to buy
I don't get the whole argument of "scoring against the big 6" when half of the big 6 were shit last season.
Suarez still holds the record for most Non-penalty goals in a single season (shares the record with Salah).
The 99 Treble team was in a harder Europe.
These days, Barca/Italian teams/PSG/Man Utd/Arsenal are all shit in Europe but back in the 90’s/2000’s so many teams were amazing all over Europe.
It’s not City’s fault that the rest or Europe is shit but end of the day, it does help. The 99 treble was more exciting bc of the difficulty and it was more memorable, some will even say that UCL final is the best final ever bc of how unlikely it was for Utd to win in such a way
I don’t base it off who would win in a match or accross a 38 game tournament because it’s 2 different eras with very differenr demands for positions (GK, Fullbacks, Wingers etc.). City had more resources too
Haaland is an prolific tap in merchant (which is not a bat thing) becuase of his size , height , and also had good awarness of the ball. The thing is you put a good defender on him or you cut any service to him and he becomes USELESS. But Suarez is one of the most lethal strikers in history. He creates his own chances and can score all kinds of goals.
Holy shit you are a tactical genius! You should join a coaching team with that type of insight. “just stop Haaland lol”
Saying ETH had the better season while joining the most expensive squad in the league and spending another 250 Ms to finish 4 points above Eddie Howe's Newcastle who were starting Dan Burn, Longstaff and Jacob Murphy is a stinky take
De Bruyne's defining moment is probably the "Let me talk" clip.
