Listening to this now and judging a player on whether he’s had a ‘big moment’ like scoring in a final is the most ridiculous thing to me.
An iconic moment makes you a hero, an icon etc but it doesn’t make you any better of a player. De Bruyne has had multiple huge moments in league campaigns with big goals and assists to carry his team to wins which ultimately led to them winning titles. The ‘big moment/big game’ thing is rubbish.

Yeah but playing exceptionally well in the biggest games i.e being a "big game player" and rising to the biggest occasions does add to your resume as a player.
Suarez 31 goals and 17 assists, no penalties, was the only world class player in his team and he was dribbling past players and creating for others whilst scoring some of the best goals I’ve ever seen. His season is CLEAR

This is the most anti-City line up on the pod I swear 😂 KDB “nowhere near” table 1 and no memorable moments, despite scoring and assisting crucial goals in games against Arsenal, Bayern, Real Madrid, Man United, Liverpool, Newcastle etc. (btw no-one seems to remember HE ASSISTED the Gundo goal vs Aston Villa last season to win us the league).
Haaland scored 36 goals in “38 games” so Suarez = better, when in fact he only played 35 games and played the equivalent of 31 full 90s.

So Suarez scored more actual goals in less games in a much worse team and was much more well rounded

Even so , kdb had big moments such as contributing massively to man city treble , taking Belgium to 2018 wc semi final and scoring the equalizer against Madrid. As a Chelsea fan , despite disliking man city , Kdb is a generational player and is the current best midfielder in the world .

I’m a Liverpool fan and I swear Suarez did score a couple against the top 6. The ones that comes to mind is the goal against united at old trafford and the goal against Tottenham that may have equal Liverpool record goal in a prem season (29 which he went on to break to make it 31). If we talking goals alone then I’m not sure about arsenal but surely he had a contribution in assist against them when it was 6-1 or something

Fede's an offensive powerhouses and his stats reflect that. His expected goals and assists as a midfielder are absurd in comparison to de Jong. I don't think both should be compared considering de Jong plays deeper and has carries the ball forward while Valverde plays more like a number 10, simply not the same type of midfielder.

No he is not in that table. He is only in the table with Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard and not above them also. Great passer, technical but not controlling a game like a Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane or Modric. His multiple titles are not individual achiements. Yeah he has been great for a great team but in the biggest moments he is not expected to come up big and especially internationally his career is levels below those 4 legends.

The only reason why this podcast is famous is because people like to hear bumtard takes. Nobody takes these people seriously tbh. The amount of bashing on the city treble team is laughable. They got to the FA cup final without conceding a single goal. Only goal conceded the whole tournament was a penalty in the final. Theyre the only English team ever to win the champions league without losing a game. Battered the only other 2 favourites (Madrid and Bayern) 4-0 and 3-0 respectively. Won the league with ~6 games to spare. Literally cant have a more dominant treble than that.
For me Suarez had a memorable season in the 13/14 I will never forget Suarez hat trick against Norwich city it was such a masterclass
That Mourinho Pep debate was so frustrating to listen to. When talking about pep's time at Bayern they said it was a failure because he didn't win the CL, yet when talking about Mou at Real they kept making excuses for him not winning.
