and if I can share something personal I hate or at least I dislike their the mentality and their morality the tau have now they used to be the good faction the good people the good guys but now they like Grey slash almost bad and I really like grey factions usually.
but I don't know I don't like the way they made them have bad aspects it feels shoehorned you know? like apparently the Tau Empire castrate humans for no apparent reason just for the sake of it.
and they made the ethereals controlled the entire race and everything and they might have like mysterious Motives or evil whatever I don't know I would just like one good faction for the sake of being good when everything else is grey or evil I feel like that's fair just one faction to be good or maybe at least 80% good.
and yes I also don't know why people associate the Tau with "communism" I just think that's an American thing Americans don't like anything except capitalism you know most of them are narrow minded especially in the old days...
I think the tau is more socialist? maybe even more accurate the think like maybe mocks? monks in a weird way combined with socialism at least from my understanding of some monks in the way tau they seek enlightenment from the greater good at least?

@@ms.blackfire2927 the tau commie stuff mostly comes from the vague, ephemeral ideals of the Greater Good (lol like when people refuse the GG, it’s gg for them) where everyone is doing their designated task according to a council of unknowable elites [mixing the caste system with semi-soviet era bits atop east asian collectivism].
Adding dark strokes of paint to their lore was to try to help them fit in better as a big criticism early on was how the tau seemed like a cash in on the anime craze and they needed to bring in that younger audience but it didn’t mess well with the existing darkness of the setting and that they were too one-dimensional.
Not sure on the tau sterilizing humans which miiiiiight be a meme (and/or Imperial propaganda) but if not, perhaps to control the influx of humans. I can see two big problems of having a lot of humans in tau space, 1: The Imperium can lose some people but if too many humans are on a planet they have more reason to aggressively claim it as theirs. Sure they claim the whole galaxy but with the small size of the tau empire the Imperium doesn’t need another excuse to stamp them out either “liberating” the humans or more likely, destroying everything for being traitorous filth. Right now the tau are mostly harmless to the Imperium if a slowly expansionistic ‘mostly harmless.’ Easily more trouble to erase them at present than they are worth but that would change if people start fleeing to other empires (plus tau models sell so they need them to keep existing) 2: psykers. Tau have zero clue handling space magic and humanity is full of potential walking warp rifts in the making. Sure, human psykers are rare, especially dangerous ones, but all it takes is one untrained and unbound psyker to doom a planet which the tau can’t afford due to their small size.

Of course, the best fight is against other Orks, but too much of good thing can get boring, so spicing it up is always popular, even if it's against cowardly umies who often run away and bombard you accross the horizon with artillery or cowardly blue gitz who ALWAYS run away and pout ongodly ammounts of dakka on you while running away.

@@mitchmitting102 bit of a long reply ahead.
Pariahs do kind of count, but they're more machine than human. they have memories of who they used to be, but that's more or less it. unless i missed some lore about them that says otherwise, wouldn't be surprised if i did. i got into Warhammer 40k in the last few years of 7th edition.
what i meant when i said hybrids (and also cyborgs) is that, Skynet had humans that were given cybernetic implants, or in the worst cases had their skeletons replaced with endoskeletons, organs removed and replaced with artificial ones, or the ones they already had were salvageable, removed and improved with advanced biological research. if you've seen Terminator Salvation, it was like that with a certain character, not going to spoil it in case you haven't seen the movie yet. but it didn't take long for it to become more advanced. said certain character is a hybrid, minus sharing a body with a machine. human and machine would sometimes, whether the human volunteered or there was no other choice for various reasons, work together. both human and machine using the body at the same time and improving the capabilities of the other. the Necrons can do this as well, and to some extent have, such as in the World Engine book, but we don't see them going much further than Pariahs and the augmented slaves in above mentioned book.
it would take a while to go into detail on how much or how little both factions went, but some good sources are the above mentioned book for Warhammer, and any artwork you can find on "Necron Astartes/Space Marines."
for Skynet in the Terminator franchise, some good sources are the game "Dawn of Fate," the Salvation movie as well as the comics that followed after it, a number of the T2 books, and some of the comics that are hard to find anymore.
there's also the Dark Fate movie, they *did* stick to the original lore to some extent, at least.

I'm going to Timmy you a little bit here major kill. The necrons had their lure modified, the whole idea of them wanting to get bio bodies back is kind of a new thing. Supposedly the silent King only came back because he found out about the tyranid, and his whole point is to preserve the Galaxy so that they have enough biomass and variance to be able to construct bodies to come back to. As for the tau, it all comes down to who the personality is from the necrons. If they are crazy or if they are of the faction that has no desire to reclaim an organic body, they will indeed wipe out whoever's on the planet after they save it from the tyranids. Doubly so if it turns out that the planet itself is a tombworld

    • @cthulhupthagn5771
      @cthulhupthagn5771 2 года назад

So my point is with regards to the tau, that was just a specific thing for the lore and not necessarily their overall opinion of the necron. Point in fact, because of the desire to bring everybody into the greater good they probably have the best chance of negotiating with some of the necrons, particularly the ones who think they're still alive.
With humanity, it's hard to say. Gilliman is a little more open to consorting with non-human races, especially since it's either that or chaos takes over the galaxy. Being as he's already entered in a slight partnership with the Eldar though, I could see that being a problem. Break it down to the specific space marines, and the blood angels are held in high esteem. I point that out to say that since they believe that it's possible that sanguineous had at some point partnered with the silent king, they could be convincing to other factions if the necrons needed to partner up again at another time

I also think that the true grimdark is that the necrons are the heroes of 40k.
The old ones twisted and used races. Trayzyn may be the one that saves the emperor.
    Trayzyn: hey. Fixed your chair.
    Emperor: but what about...
Trayzyn: oh I used blackstone and created a door.
Emperor: seriously? What is your price?
Trayzyn: meh... I wanted to see what happens.

Isn’t human tech based on necron tech thru the influence of the machine dragon? And therefor necron tech would be the most accessible zeno tech to a tech priest? Further, the dragon was on earth before the big E bested it, so all of human technological advancement may have been influenced. It’s more like discovering your roots, or maybe finding your fathers shotgun as a toddler when they inadvertently activate the murder machine worlds.

    Ok, here me out,
Now we know that only one of Alpharius or Omegon is Loyalist. Or this is what we have been told.
But it might be a lie, both of them could be Loyalist(Considering one is dead).
Now we know that Alpha legion invaded the Sol system prematurely because they wanted to show Dorn the weakness in defence knowing Dorn will fortify it. So the loyalist of the two brothers was responsible for this and he died(if it's not other I'm Alpharius).
But after that the other Primarck provided the same map to Horus, despite having the knowledge of fortification. So he must also be a Loyalist.

    • @lordgod9958

Wasn't there evidence that Alpha Legion was fence sitting, wanting to see Horus fail so they could finish the job? Entirely possible in that context they would give faulty Intel just to screw him over
