It's Immaterial - Driving Away From Home (Jims Tune) - with lyrics

Not exactly a ‘novelty song’ but certainly a tongue-in-cheek parody of various American ‘road trip songs’ from around that time, so worthy of inclusion on this channel.
Released in 1986 it reached number 18 in the UK charts, it’s a great song in its own right and an anthem of the 1980’s which deserved better!

I remember Janice Long used to play this a lot on her overnight show on Radio 2. I love Liverpool, and being on the M62(!) so this song has always made me feel very at home. I also love the calming way he says 'don't worry'
