Namu’s Winter Sunday Steaming

  • Very happy this evening after an enjoyable steaming of Namu this afternoon. Namu is a coal fired DJB saddle tank loco I assembled from a kit set. Still very much learning this black art of coal firing, trying at times but when you drop the fire and hour and a half after lighting in a faultless run there is a definite feel of achievement and joy. And oh the fragrance of coal smoke mixed with warm steam oil, bliss 😋

    Paul Bailey certainly got the right balance for this locomotive. Looks great.

    That is splendid locomotive, and she runs well, Id say you have the balance about right, and the railway looks very interesting, and some challenging gradients.

    Views are great. Condensing steam is pretty in the low angle light.
