I've always liked John Kay's voice and music. He seemed 'down to earth' and genuine, separate from the usual music industry glimmer and excess - glad to see he is alive and well.
Used to see The John Kay Band in a crappy little club in North Hollywood in the late 70's I talked to him about it at the Wolf Fest in 2000 in Tennessee and he was dismissive of those days because they were a low point for him. What I tried to explain was that for my best friend Bruce and myself they were magic times. We were 21 and could order a pitcher of beer and sit 20 feet away from one of our rock idols. It truly was magic for this unrepentant rock and roller. Thank you John for everything.
John Kay is an amazing man. When you hear him tell his life story it is apparent. I fell in love with his solo album "My Sportin Life" when it came out and I bought a copy. Highly recommend it to any John Kay fans.
My favorite growing up. He looks great. Goldy McJohn lived just across the sound from me and I was on his forum for years. He and Jerry Edmonton are both gone now but John just keeps going. Bold Marauder and Give Me News I Can Use are 2 of my favorite solo tunes. For Ladies Only, Renegade, and Mr. Penny Pincher are probably my favorite Steppenwolf tunes (although Slow Flux and Early Steppenwolf are my favorite albums). John sounds awesome on my tube gear with my front loaded horns and Lowther drivers. Although, not the hard rock but rather his solo albums (folk and ballad tunes) sound best on it. For the rest I play it on my Carver gear and ADS speakers.
John Kay é Eterno: Maior que Elvis e foda-se quem pensar ao contrário... Longa Vida ao Velho Lobo da Estepe ....Esse poeta, cantor e guitarrista é orgulho para os verdadeiros rockeiros. Viva o Grande e Único John Kay . Tenho dito!
Ya I have seen John Kay and Steppenwolf four times the last time was last month in Laughlin nv. It's cool to see him live but I can I've without the drunks in the audience.
John kay the greatest singer ever.

Haven’t seen John for many years. He was my favorite growing up in the 60s/70s.

I would've loved to have seen the John Kay band too, several videos of them here on RUclips is the best I can do I guess.
This man's voice tells a story and stirs emotions as he sings - one of the greatest ever - Johan Marais South Africa

Rocknroll hall of fame is a sham until they induct Steppenwolf and this man...that said I am not sure that the "hall' is worthy!
Love John Kay unique voice!
