    I totally agree. Having a few basic meds on hand sure is handy and helps save fish lives.

    Hi thanks for these videos. Just starting an aquarium can be intimidating and there’s too much misleading information out there and this helps put things in context and your products have helped me keep my first aquarium going and I never thought I could do that. My family is enjoying it.

    I was the one in charge of taking care of all the classroom animals during breaks in first grade. It was very fun. Except for when they turned off the AC and the hissing cockroaches exploded out of their exoskeletons. They somehow healed.

    Lots of great topic in this livestream Cory! Dissolved Oxygen in relation to Temperature and pH impacting the microorganism in the tank and all the nitrosomotas and nitrobacter requires oxygen to perform. Something we are digging into that as well from a shrimp perspective.

    I like your point about doing things sooner to see its benefits. I like to think of working on a tank as inputting energy into the system. I do something to it now, and I get to enjoy watching the changes happen when I watch the tank later. It's like positive karma in a micro scale :)
    Thanks for the new video, Cory. I've been waiting for this one and appreciate your latest selling fish for profit video.

    Would love to see little snippets of the process as you set up the big tank. I just got a water box off Facebook & talked to the guy for 15 min about substrates. Not boring.

    Yep, I've fallen asleep to your 2hr vids. How's the pond going? Pity the med trio, isn't available in a kangaroo's pouch, but I know what you mean about always being prepared. That's why I Iike to scoll up and down a group page, and see other peoples' problems, and note the experience persons advice to problems that I haven't had, in my time as an aquarium owner, write it down just in case it happens to me in the future - Like your emergency kit for power outages. Really helped keep the anxiety at bay.

    Did you change the substrate with the fish in the tank? Can you tell me how you did it please?

  • @captainobvious8665

    The vast majority of the time I have used ich-x, most of the fish that had visable ich still died. I started raising the temperature to 86 in addition to the ich-x and recommended water changes. At that point I had almost no fish loss and it kills the ich almost immediately. I now set it to 86 (gradually increasing from the normal 77-78 over 24 hrs) without ich-x and almost never lose any fish. All signs of ich disappear in 48 hrs or less but I always keep it there for a week. Try it and it will work for you. Btw, I always keep 1 Tbsp of salt per 10 gallons regardless of fish health and 40-50% monthly water changes, and keep the tanks packed with fish to reduce aggression (and therefore stress) except for breeding. I have 25 tanks and ich is an absolute non factor now.

    Cory I’m very happy to hear you mention “new “ aquarium setups .. I have several books in my library that were first published in 1938 and the early 1970s .. dirted tanks were mentioned in some of these books 50 plus years ago..as well as other ideas that seem to have been just thought of..Will

    KAIZEN. A little improvement every day.
    I find it much easier to get your hands wet a little bit everyday ( clean algae off of a few leaves only) vs ONE BIG maintenance day that could get pushed back due to complicated scheduling.

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  2 месяца назад

      Oh that's good too. I think I just attack it from the other angle. I better do that little thing right now. A few times a day. Works out to be similar to yours. If your hands are wet, you're doing something right.
