THINK BING is a documentary film that brings together the most influential characters behind Bing Surfboards and celebrates the brand's most pivotal moments over the past six decades. From the earliest collaborators to present day, the story unfolds from first-hand accounts with Bing Copeland, Greg Noll, Dick Brewer, Duncan & Malcolm Campbell, Mike Eaton, Matt Calvani, and others. Their voices paired with archival footage will guide viewers through the 60s as we follow the inception of the surfboard industry and how Bing Surfboards came to be, its milestones and achievements in the 1960s golden era of surfing, and how it became a cornerstone of the surf industry. Through the 70s -90s when surfing culture, the industry and surfboards rapidly changed and Bing kept pace helping to showcase cutting-edge surfboard design, such as the Bonzer, which paved the way for the modern-day thruster surfboard. To Bing Surfboards today, where decades-old theories of craftsmanship continue to steer the direction of its modern hand-shaped designs. The common theme that links the eras together is the foundation from which Bing was built on and along the way, honor the people whose talent and vision led the brand through the generations. The film covers stories such as shop talk from the factory floor, the surfing experience from eras past, the moments of breakthrough in the shaping bay and the life long friendships made along the way. THINK BING brings to life Bing Surfboard's incredible journey and further confirms its legacy in the surfing world for generations to come.

I worked as a laminator at the G & S factory in San Diego in the late 70's, when Bing shifted production down there. I was tasked with glassing a 9'10 Bing gun that Eaton had shaped for big wave rider who got this custom made for Waimea . Eaton was a legend, a master shaper and one of the coolest human beings ever to walk the planet. It was about four inches thick, hard downfalls and a total beast of a board. As I started laying the lap lines Eaton came in, grinned real big and said, "Triple 8 ounce! Top and bottom! Mike said to make it as heavy as possible so it'll PLUMMET down the face." Can't remember big wave rider Mike's last name---he was a big bearded ropey hulk of a man---but he was thrilled when he picked up the board and it weighed about 40 pounds. It was a pleasant diversion from all those fussy team riders complaining about weight and asking for single 4 ounce cloth top and bottom to allow a super light board.

In 1970ish.I went in to Bing and had Mike Eaton shappe me a 7' 4" round pin for Trestles in mind. We had to walk in from the School past Nixons house & if you made it without the Army not spotting us, we surfed all day.Nobody out. Just dreamy. Thanks Mike, that board went great. 👍

"Think Bing" stopped me in my tracks, I will never forget my buddy Jason in Santa Barbara freaking out he found a Bing bonzer at a garage sale down the street. The wife had it on display. He went home and got permission from his wife to purchase the 7' 2" faded brown gem. When he returned with the cash the boards true owner "her husband" was like not way! My buddy came home empty handed that day, So close, he had said. A few days or weeks later, the man appeared and told Jason if you ride it, you can have it. Jason was reignited with his love of the sport because of that surfboard. And it inspired his younger brother to take the board to San Diego and find someone to remake the board. Now His brother Jon jas a new high performance version as well.

Rastovich surfed out of the womb. No flippy flips or any of that bullshit. Just a true master of his craft.
