I feel JYP wrote some of his best and most meaningful/inspiring music when he was working with g.o.d. That friendship really translated into their music. The lyrics are so relatable and human, like they are singing what is on the mind of the everyman.

This being a singing competition, I just realized that the reason this song was chosen. I’m just speculating, but I think Kim Tae Woo chose this song for Park Joo Hyun. In other words he was singing this song to Park Joo Hyun as an encouragement to keep going. I’ve seen this performance countless times and realizing that made this performance so much more special to me. It was at the end when Kim Tae Woo was saying we all cheer for you, achieve your dream. Sprouted fresh tears at that point. Soo beautiful.

Just heard this duet and i finally got to know the english translation. Im not korean but i love this song and played it over and over just love the melody. The lyrics are truly heartwarming, so meaningful and relates to many of us. More power god

This duet is wow their voice both contrasted each other and the way how they both ad libbed at the ending, the performance was beyond amazing I'm surrounded by goosebumps I want this as a digital download so much

김태우는 진짜 멋지고 아름다운 사람이다. 솔직히 말해서 너무 부럽고 존경스럽다. 이제 25살인 내가 그나마 나이 조금 먹고보니깐 god는 정말 한국에서 다시 생길수 없는 밴드다. 김태우를 거만한 사람으로 봐왔었는데 god를 알아가고보니 그렇게 봤다는거에 정말 죄송할 따름이다... god는 참 착하고 솔직한 밴드이다. 어떻게 보면 요즘시대에 진짜 필요한 음악이 아닐까... 세상은 시간이 지날수록 왜 먼가 진짜 중요한걸 놓치고 가는 느낌일까... 세상이 발전할수록 우리는 아는게 많아지고 알수록 세상은 좁아지고, 좁아질수록 새로움이란 없어지는거 같다... 하지만 이 곡은 없어질수 없다. 왜냐하면 솔직한 노래이고. 솔직함은 영원하기 때문에.

What i like about G.O.D's songs is that they have sense..meaningful and life relating. You can emotionally understand without understanding the lyrics..inspiring!
That's why even though g.o.d is considered "first generation" their songs are still very well-known in Korea. Their songs didn't age badly like some other idol group songs. "Road" came out in 2001 yet I cried when first heard it (and followed with the English translation) in 2013.

I absolutely love everything that has to do with the Korean music industry. It’s just incredible to have a country with such an amazing talent. They just must share it with the world. The manifestation of feelings coming out of these singers is just priceless. I often find myself so emotional listening to many of these songs even without understanding the lyrics. I also love the participation of the audience and their comments and the acknowledgement of talent by the many singers who are always flawless. Thank you Korea for making this world happier.
The song is based on the g.o.d members' own experience with uncertainty. They almost didn't debut because their company CEO lost money in the 1997 Asian financial crisis and cut funding for their training. They persisted and their boss finally relented. Then their first album wasn't as successful as the other newly-debuted idol groups' albums and JYP told them that if their second album didn't "make it" then they may have to be disbanded and JYP would not have built up his reputation as a hit-maker that early.

The instrumental remake of the song for this version really set the vibe for these two power houses. This recomposition also sounded more inspirational; imploring the heavy drums, female vocal chorus, electric guitar, and orchestral brass. The piano at the start of the song also complemented their voices well.
All in all, very powerful and inspirational. :D
