From 1969 - 1975 the most popular live band on the globe... bar none. And so talented...!
For me best American rock bend all time 😈🤘🎸
@@drazennikolic9727band😉
Mark Farner was a masterful guitar player. I bought the E Pluribus Funk album back in the 70's and it remains one of my favorite albums. It was mostly an anti-Vietnam war album. Good songs.
Mark Farner , the lead singer and guitar player wrote this song when he was 15 years old ! !!! Don Brewer ,the drummer sans his shirt in the same concert= on the song= TUNC. drum solo. Now , more great songs, I can Feel Him In The Morning" , Closer to home, Foot Stompin Music, Paranoid, Sins A Good Mans Brother",, Lonliness, People lets Stop The War", We're an American Band. GREAT SONGS! and many more= Some Kinda Wonderful, Black Licorice, . Love yall and peace..
All great songs. I don’t think they did a bad song. And know they never put on a bad convert. Now at Shea stadium that out preformed Led Zeppelin which did not get to play. 🤗
GFR was one of the most popular bands during the mid70s with rockers, along with Steppenwolf and Led Zepplin. "Inside Looking Out" live is awesome. You will dig it. I guarantee. Other good songs are mentioned below by another poster.
It's nice to see how the generation act different
My first concert was GFR in 1970. 14 YO! I'd never seen anything like it obviously. Been a Rocker every since. 😊
Love you girls, love some GFR too !! Saw them twice in '71 and they KILLED !! Never disappointed, 110% ALWAYS. It was only "Mis-management" that lead to their fall from grace. SAD...
Thanks
When I was in high school, late 60's, GFR was hugely popular. You always heard them at parties (along with Credence Clearwater Revival). The music critics dismissed them as an overamped garage band but we didn't care what the critics said and neither did they. Their music was high energy fun and that's what matters when you're a teenager
They have many great songs! You probably would know: American Band, Bad Time, Some Kind of Wonderful and The Locomotion.
Another big hit by GFR, "Closer To Home (I'm Your Captain)"
@@williammcdonald3922 one of my favorites. I was trying to give them some songs they may have heard on the radio. I love Grand Funk, got to meet Mark back in Feb!
I'm your Captain, Closer to Home live at Shea is awesome!
For years the only Grand Funk Railroad song they played on the radio was Closer To Home (I'm Your Captain.) I'm glad you chose this. I also remember really liking Aimless Lady.
They were so popular when I was high school that our BOE chartered 2 Grayhound Busses to take 80 students 150 miles , in Feb. 1973. Great concert I've seen at least 200 concerts in my life, GRAND WAS THE BEST !!!!!!!. The BEATLES SOLD OUT SHEA STADIUM IN 7 WEEKS .. IT TOOK ONlY GRAND FUNK 3 DAYS >>>!!
I bet that was one awesome concert.
He is part Cherokee. Like Cher. I am sure Grandma heard of her before."Cherokee people! Cherokee life ❤!"
I saw them 3 times in concert back then. You have no idea how loud they were. It was insane.
Yeah my pops did also and always says they loved for their music to be loud. Wall of speakers I bet it was an awesome experience
Grand Funk was the real deal. Try the live version of “Foot Stomping Music “. If will definitely get ya going.
Added it to the list.
GFR was as huge as it gets in the 70's. Saw them in 73 and I was amazed as it was one of my earliest concert especially with 30,000 people. Love you guys excitement. Check out some of the Shea Stadium concert. Incredible!
"People let's stop the war" and "Footstompin music" are good too. "I can feel him in the Morning" is a different feel from them too.
You guys are so entertaining! Thanks so much for your reactions.
Thanks for watching!
If you like drummers check out " In A Gadda Da Vida " by Iron Butterfly , from early 1968 , be aware it's 17 minutes long . Also check out * You Keep Me Hanging On " by Vanilla Fudge , from 1967 . Enjoy yourselves.
Added it to the list.
Listen to I’m your Captain!
Mark Farner claims Cherokee descent on his maternal side
You gotta watch " The Locomotion " From this same concert, guaranteed you will love it.
GFR's tune off Silver Dollar album, "Save the Land".
You ladies should check out grandfunk " we're an American band " official video. You'll dig it!
My favorite drum cam is very popular, it's Danny Carey from Tool playing "Pneuma". My chin was on the floor the entire time.
If you like this bluesy GRAND FUNK RAILROAD🔥 y'all have to react to "Mean Mistreater"! Pure blues rock.....awesome!🤗❤️✌️
So much fun. Thank you.
Into the Sun live
Hi gals. The bass player is amazing aswell, I love the time when they could be heard. Now a days you almost never hear them, they just disappears in all the sounds and that’s a pity 😢😔. Loved your reaction as always 😍❤️❤️.
Thanks
Some other great Grand Funk tracks to check out are... Foot stomping music,Sins a good mans brother,Hooked on love,Country road,,Were an American band and too many more to list.
Try “ Inside Looking Out” from this same concert if you liked this one…Fire. The drummer sings their greatest hit…” We’re An American Band.”
I saw them live in them live in the 70's&80's Mark Farner the guitarist is part Native American. He always wore a band on his right bicept and did not like to shirts to represent it😮 they were whats called hard rock..😊 I am surprised Lulu has not mentioned his hair lol!
Thanks for the info!
If you haven't, you gotta check out "Inside Looking Out" from 1969. Absolutely killer.
We did it, is on the channel
Awesome. Couple of beautiful Irish faces!
These guys outsold the Beatles at Shea Stadium.
They should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Together with Madonna? No thanks!
Mr Limousine driver is a must!!
I think their version of Heartbreaker is the best among all rock band versions. Don't forget American Band, Some Kind of Wonderful, Loco-motion and I'm Your Captain.
congratulation on your reactions, they are very good, but you need to react to the footstomping music song from that concert, I recommend it to you. it is extraordinary that music brings the family together
Check out locomotion 1974 live along with Wet Willie
There is no band today playing at that level…..
🔥💥🔥
Mark Farner was quite the hottie back then !!!......i'd love to be sitting right in front of him, but i sure wouldn't mind sitting behind him, either !!.....LOL
If you want to really hear the drummer listen to TNUC
All the hit songs, the complete and record breaking venue sellouts, gold albums, etc. And still not in the hall of fame. SMH
Hi! Let’s try something different! Pls do “solid stigma” from Angerfist ✌🏻 imagine yourself there, curious about you’re thoughts 🤪
Added!
The studio version is better , but GFR are great ' Live ".
They were a big deal back at the time. I'm your Captain & American Band you may have heard.
Girls, where are your accents from?
Texas
Too bad they'll NEVER perform together again. Nor will they get into the H O F 😢
