Welcome to The Frey Life daily vlogs! We are Peter & Mary, a married couple in our early 30's, showing the ups and downs of everyday life with #CysticFibrosis, a genetic lung disease that Mary was born with. In August 2019, Mary started a new CF medication that changed the trajectory of our future, and life has changed dramatically - including our son, Elijah, joining our family in December 2021. We also have an adorable standard poodle, Oliver, and a hairless sphynx cat, Harry. It's our hope that these videos can be an encouragement to to celebrate the little things in life and find joy amidst a world full of hard realities!

Oh my goodness. My baby was born 50 yrs ago. We were so happy when pampers came out and I didn’t have to deal with cloth diapers anymore. But these diapers are great. Wish I had them when I needed them. Merry Christmas to your family
My first baby was also born 50 years ago. I used Curity diapers for him.
All the time folding daipers. And the joys of pinning the diapers with a squirming and thrashing baby lol.

I started watching these videos when you were doing port "tutorials"...I am a nurse and found it intriguing...fast forward several years....watching you parent such a sweet boy....and also watching those old port videos because I have to have a port placed and while I'm a nurse, I don't deal with ports in my medical practice....I am so grateful for the "patient" perspective...and I don't do the patient thing well, so I'm learning again.....thank you!
Happy birthday to Elijah! I used solely cloth from birth with my first daughter and loved it. With my second I got bad PPD and stopped for my own sanity, to lessen my load, at around 4 months old. Now I have my third bub and am using cloth again and loving it! She’s only 5 weeks old but so far so good 🤣

Happy 1st Birthday 🥳 ! I hope he had a wonderful birthday 🎂 ! I’m so glad you love cloth diapers!! We did too! I loved bumgenius diapers but used prefolds to stuff them since our medium hard water did not like the microfiber and they got stinky! I loved the thirties covers so I probably would have like the naturals if they worked with our water! Cloth diapers are super cute love a fluffy butt!

I also celebrate when all the socks have pairs. In one of my homes, we put up a bulletin board, labeled it
"Have you seen me!"
Then hung the stragglers on the cork board until their partner showed up. 🤷🏽♀️
I used cloth diapers for our children and loved it...I only sadness is that 33yrs ago all that was available was white and you had to fold and pin them into place then add the "rubber" pants over them which were NOT the greatest against babies skin.
I love the modern cloth diapers!!!

I would love to see a cloth diaper routine and how you pack them for travel. We just started some cloth diapers to see if it works for us and are going to be traveling as well. I was wondering how you fit clothes on your baby with cloth diapers because they don't look bulky at all. It is great to see you guys so happy and healthy! Merry Christmas!

I used cloth diapers for my middle child and his little brother. At one point, I became too overwhelmed with working full time and managing three kids and I went to disposables, but I LOVED cloth diapers, and overall, that are just a mind shift - not a lot more work.
If cloth diapers worked and looked like that when my babies were babies, I probably would have too! 😍
I would never get away with that night nappy. I have a heavy wetter so it takes A LOT of bamboo and hemp. We use fitted nappies heavily boosted in the nappy and also in the wrap. We mostly use pockets for days with the odd fitted for long car journeys etc. I also have a few wool covers that my auntie knitted. Just got a new preflat to try with it, but I can't find my nappy nippa and I'm terrified of trying pins. I have lots of Alva pockets but I think the majority of the other brands I use are UK companies and only available over here. Love seeing cloth bums normalised.
Love thirsties! We use all sorts of different cloth diapers. We are on our third child with cloth diapering.

We tried cloth diapers but our son always got major diaper rash, so we went back to disposables and that was the end of the rashes.

My daughter used cloth diapers 20 years ago and loved them. So much cheaper.
My daughter chose to cloth diaper her daughter. We did not put our diapers back n the dryer. We line dried them because when we researched laundering them, it was highly suggested to not put them in the dryer. It was also stressed that they not go in the dryer on the BST pages that we purchased many of them from. It surprised me that you put them in the dryer. Please know I am not being critical-just wondering.
I’m sad for all the plastic my medical condition causes, but my body can’t do the things others take for granted.
And how many times do you have to change the cloth diapers? How long do the diapers last? :)

I used cloth diapers with both my boys and that was like 40 years ago.. Only had cloth diaper and rubber pant cover. So much cheaper than disposable. but most of friend and family used disposable.
Does Oliver ever work? I know he's retired so he's never on duty. But does he still decide to work sometimes? Do you catch him doing tasks for you or others?
I would love to know where all of my socks go. Can’t even find them on deep cleaning days 😅

Please consider doing a video on how you care for the cloth diapers. I am due to have my baby boy in March and want to cloth diaper so I appreciate all your videos on them. I have questions like do you have to run a presoak/pre rinse cycle? Do you use special detergent for washing? How many newborn cloth diapers should one start with? Etc.
Mary, was there a technique to stuffing the diaper so that it was even and not scrunched up?

I cloth diapered my 5 children... mostly because I don't trust the chemicals that are in disposable diapers and I didn't want those chemicals pressed up against my babies' private parts for the first 2 to 3 years of their life. Natural cotton was best for my babies. Even with twins the laundry wasn't so bad.

8 mo old and we have only had to buy one pack of size 3
And still have a closet with 4 boxes of size 4 and a size 6

My mom said she cloth diapered me because my skin did not like disposable diapers at all.
Cloth diapers when I did it for babysitting I hated it. But that’s how I felt.
