Komm, Jesu, komm, mein Leib ist müde. 00:02
ich sehne mich nach deinem Friede;
der saure Weg wird mir zu schwer!
Komm, komm, ich will mich dir ergeben. 02:39
Drum schließ ich mich in deine Hände 06:50
und sage: Welt, zu guter Nacht!
Eilt gleich mein Lebenslauf zu Ende,
ist doch der Geist wohl angebracht.
Er soll bei seinem Schöpfer schweben,
weil Jesus ist und bleibt
der wahre Weg zum Leben.
🙏🏼
Timeless masterpiece!
JA, - WUNDERSCHÖN - "Ich bin klein - mein Herz ist rein - soll niemand drinn wohnen als Jesus Allein" - WIR DANKEN UNSEREM ALLGEGENWÄRTIGEN HERRN JESUS
Yes "Come Jesus Come" supremely beautiful.
Absolutely stunning, miraculous music of another dimension. Those Leipzig parish-goers and city magistrates really had no idea what kind of colossal genius they had in their midst. Bach is the most stupendous miracle in all of music.
Amen!
@@dominiekschrijvers1985 this is a very underrated piece of the great master. absolutely stunning. wish he would have included it somehow in the b minor mass.
So ist es
Ja.
One cannot listen to this without breaking to tears and smiling at the same time! Incredible experience. I have had the opportunity to sing this in a choir my self for a few years ago: singing of this masterpiece of mr Bach is also a huge experience and pleasure.
Mir ging's auch so
Magnifique! 🙏🏼
The most stunningly beautiful version I ever heard.
Was für eine zeitlos grandiose Aufnahme
Wahnsinn! Je zarter es wird, desto mehr Gänsehaut.
This is my favorite motet of Bach's
this and the guten nacht
Tolle Interpretation, super musiziert. Eine Freude, diesem Ensemble zuzuhören.
In grad school (U of Chicago) I found a bulletin board notice asking for singers to sing the Bach motets. Having choral experience beginning in a community chorus at age 14 (thanks, Dad) and extending through college and then in a metropolitan chorus, I decided that even with my grad studies I wanted to do this, so I went to the first (unauditioned) rehearsal. I found fifteen or so people ready to learn (or re-learn) these great pieces. I was at somewhat of a disadvantage since I had never even heard of these pieces, but I catch on quickly when surrounded by people who know what they are doing. We ended up singing all 6 motets in north suburban Chicago in the music room of a Frank Lloyd Wright house. I have no idea how we got the gig. But I have remembered the experience for almost 50 years now and still know and love these motets. These are very nice performances!
Good ol' sneaky Bach, in the last bar it becomes major! That's cheating a little, as if he's looking for a big round of applause b/c the piece ends all nice. "See, it came out all right in the end." But what I said a year ago still stands: these are six great pieces performed by very accomplished artists. I'd love to do them again, but 60 years of vocal self-abuse have taken their toll on my poor voice. A great memory, and I can always "sing" along with real singers thanks to youtube.
Sounds like a magical experience.
As a countertenor I have sung Bach's motets in the Netherlands, alto. Bach's soul must be so pleased to hear this music.
very, very good second tenor
Wunderschön!! Mehr kann man nicht sagen....Kompliment!!
Daniel Reuss conducting is stunning!....and his singers do exactly what he intents. Great tenor (Thomas Volle) and bass next to him in the left choir.
I fully agree with Paul West - absolutely stunning. As Bach himself said-"Music for the glory of God and refreshment of the soul."
Evoking the fatigue and pain of the world in perfect balance
To inspire myself by responding to joyful affirmations, beliefs and hopes...
Herzlichen Dank!
So eindringlich, wunderschön, nie eine bessere Interpretation gehört.
I have been listening to this performance for some time, and all I can say, including all the choral singing I have done here in the U.S., I have to say that there are absolutely none finer anywhere that this...Thank You!.....
Have I been ignorant? Next time when I will be running through the streets of Berlin, I will watch out for these vibes.. ;-) Thank you!
Absolutely the best performance I have ever heard of this divine motet.
Bach wrote, the angels listened. Bach's mind, like many of the great minds of other individuals in the arts and sciences, functioned on a higher level.
@@barbellerch4223 Was soll diese Drill-Mentalität?
these singers are so relaxed as they masterfully and communicatively offer this engaging performance. I'm inspired to practice more!
Interprétation dynamique et merveilleusement contrastée. Des voix divines qui portent aux nues ! Quelle merveilleuse interprétation particulièrement bienvenue !
Outstanding performance, highest grade of musical interaction and intelligence! Wonderful! My personal favorite...
Grande interpretazione. SUBLIME !
Excellent! Great performance of a very spiritual music.
ultimaive musik ultimaive interpretation, himmlisch, unglaublich schön
Wat is dit mooi!
Sehr Schön!!!
With angels' assistance. From first rehearsals to this performance. Danke werte Freunde!
Beautiful intepretation...All the singers are native german speakers. One can hear how beautiful is when the language expresses music...That is missed by Bach sung from non native speakers...
Thank you so much, for this "Masterpiece" from J.s.Bach!
So wunderfull "gesungen," my compliments for the music and choir,cq conductor!
Greetings from the Netherlands..

This is stunning music and a beautiful performance. I am going to sing this with my choir and I am so excited (Megiddo Choir in Israel, amateur choir with 34 singers).
Perfectly synchronized performance of this compact masterpiece with heavenly voices of all the singers. The artistic leading by the awesome conductor is also remarkable. Heartful thanks!
Un moment de grâce !
Zalfje voor de ziel. GEWELDIG❤️🥰

So much fun to sing.
Real music! thanks
Excelente.
Magnifique!!!
More than just music
One of the best recordings next to the Regensburger Domspatzen!
Wow, that was wonderful. Thank you!
surely, if there is a heaven, then J S Bach, will be the conductor of the heavenly choirs. Who else???? This music transport you to another world. Merci avrokasslek for this down load.
Why just conducter? Who will compose it if not him in person, as well...
Quite simple! God composed the music, and Bach was the Kapellmeister who was able to comprehend and write down the notes.
Bach considered himself as a servant and he said "Where there is devotional music, God is always at hand with His gracious presence"
You can literally get in touch with God through Bach's music.
una meraviglia!
Ah Bach....Thank You!....
Another great performance of a Bach motet.
MAGNIFIQUE!
Superb!
quite amazing. bravo !!!!
Superbe Musique!!
love it!!!!
We've been singing this :33333333333333333333333

Divino
Smukt sunget, dejlig musik.
You should not Forget Mozart "The Divine Mozart" and the genial Beethoven
"The five part motet Komm, Jesu, komm (‘Come, Jesus, come’) was written for the funeral of the Leipzig University professor and headmaster of the Thomasschule Jakob Thomasius; it was performed in the Paulinerkirche ‘at the highly respectfully maintained corps-ceremonies on 14 September 1684’. The Leipzig poet Paul Thymich, who can be found several times as Schelle’s librettist, wrote the text. The simple stanzaic verse was set to music in the form of a simple, touching choir aria, which must have impressed Johann Sebastian Bach around 1730 so much that he used the text for his motet of the same name, BWV229, and borrowed some of Schelle’s melodic expressions" except from Peter Wollny text... As always, a great master of masters taken behind the curtain! Schelle is as far away from all criticism as Telemann is.
"Komm, Jesu, komm" is an eight-part motet (not five-part). Double chorus: SATB/SATB. "Jesu, meine Freude," on the other hand, is a five-part (SSATB) motet.
@@KozenaFan I think you have misunderstood - isn't this post talking about the motet that inspired Bach's version?
I love how Bach understood the equal importance of male and female voices in his compositions.
Apparently you don't understand that female voices were not used in German churches until the 19th century. The high parts were sung by boys or adult male falsettists (what we today incorrectly call "countertenors").
Nice nice
gut gemacht ... weitermachen ^.^
Jawohl!
Darf ich "einfach himmlisch" sagen ? Exécution parfaite.
6:49 Aria
One only needs to listen to the motet of Bach to realize that he was superior to Handel in writing for the choir.
