The dynamic range in gcam is god tier even in budget phones
You chose the wrong phone. Take a phone like POCO F4 and see gcam difference. Nothing Phone's camera is already pretty great that's why you don't see much difference. And gcam also has different configs and versions. You failed to select a suitable one. But I enjoyed the video 😀

bro you can edit advanced image settings by adding a custom gcam profile. You can tune it to whatever you like. With stock, you cant.

which gcam did u used in poco m4 pro ? i also have the same model but gcam struggles with mediatek :') , btw I've switched from gcam to lmc 8.4

For me personally Gcam was better as I don’t click selfies(i wish they just remove and give me my full screen display) or portrait even videos are rare, so just normal photos and thats it.

Though it was taking a lot of time
It takes even 20 seconds to result night sight in extremely dark condition
But result is even better than daylight of stock camera

There's another factor of how well the Gcam mod is calibrated for the ISP and sensor of the device and how skilled is the community in patching the lib.
Best case scenario: You can even beat the Pixels.
Yeah that has never happened though.
And with new devices, the old mods are still being used as the newer ones are more Tensor dependent.
Also reduced is people and devs' interest in this kind of development.

There is pros and cons of gcam
Pros:
1) there is so much noise in my oppo f21 pro using stock camera. But with gcam there is no noise
2) colors are more natural with gcam
3) better camera in low light
Cons)
1) shutter lag. Stock camera can take in focus images of moving objects. But gcam cannot
2) with stock camera your image will be more pleasing to look even without editing
3) you cannot access all camera lenses using gcam
4) HDR is much better in stock camera
Conclusion :
If you want natural images then use gcam. Don't use gcam for moving objects. For indoor images you can use gcam. Stock app try to beautify and sharpen image more than necessary which introduce noise in low light. But at the end it all depends upon personal preference. In good lighting I will prefer stock camera app
P.S: even oppo can use pixel style computation. But since it lean more toward Asian taste so it prefer white skin tones and brighter images even if it introduce noise in images. If you have to post your image on social media apps then you will not notice noise because social media apps will decrease the quality of image. And if you edit your photos before posting then use stock camera app. You can achieve better image than even iphone, pixel or galaxy by editing

Pixel 6a is good in mid 2024 for use up to 2026?
I had used gcam on my 9 power and now I am using same camera on my Moto G32.
This version also have manual Focus even in normal mode. Best version of gcam. And no oversharpening on my g32.
Same gcam on my Narzo 50 is not that good, red looks oversaturated in every photo also gcam is slow in this phone. Maybe because of Mediatek processor.

1st of all, the Nothing phone's camera application is not stock. It is well optimised. And we haven't really seen stock applications on Android phones for quite some time now. Remember the old Android One devices? Some of them used to come with stock cameras. Please get your facts straight

▫️I've been using gcam in my poco f1 since 5 years and it give as good result aa pixel 2xl and sometime even beat pixel 6a images but only 6.1 version of gcam is good other version like 8.1 gcam version is completely failed so can you please make vide on how to set perfect gcam setting or how to found good gcam for any phone
▫️I'm think to buy just any gaming centric phone and than install gcam in it and you're good to go with best camera and performance so please make video
